Another Prayer
The Created cry out to The Creator
lives too quickly spent
where where the guardians angels
why weren't they sent?
Dark things never understood
prayers lifted to the skies
in the streets everywhere
a mother's lament
a child's cries.
I sought refuge within myself
and asked this simple prayer
I love you Father you know this
Can you hear me...Are you there?
"It was written before all time
all about the living and the dead"
This is the answer I was given
That was all that was said
Perhaps we must learn to live
to live every moment of every day
because life is shorter than we think
and soon it passes away.
So I will do just that thing
and experience what I must
do whatever I can to help
and the rest
in God I will trust. RC

Oh My Creator
look kindly upon this soul
bowed down before you
seeking only peace
the peace that only you give
to a heart shattered
what was meant to be
became whatever will be
and there is no peace
there is strength in You
and a love everlasting
flowing into me
now there will be peace
now I can rejoice in You
in You there is hope
in You there is love
I thank You, My Creator
and now there is peace.

lock the door

for a while

I don't know why you had to go
some things I don't understand
but I hope that you're enjoying
your time in the water and the sand
and it seems that time is standing still
since you've been gone away
I'll be saving all my love for you
forever and a day
I can still feel the sweetness
the first time you kissed my face
and distant echoes of your laughter
still dance 'round this empty place
I guess sometimes a person just needs
to up and go away

I Am
I am a reflection of you.
...
Your faults....
...
....are my faults.
Your tears....
....flow into my heart....
....and journey down my cheek.
Your joy...
....causes my spirit to soar.
Your love....
....is a gift from Spirit....
...and reflects back....
....Spirit to Spirit.
Your ups and your downs, your weaknesses, your strengths....
....all define who I am.

Southern Lament
Now tolls the church bell
The South is fallen..fallen
Gone forevermore
Why did she rise up
Her cause was not slavery
as many were told
the greed of the North
the tyranny of the rich
the true war mongers
Out numbered out gunned
her resistance overrun
Her Honor shaken
A cry in the streets
a mother mourns for her son
what was is no more
Time has healed her wounds
Her scars forever remain
Her honor restored.

Only On Woman Part 2
Got a letter from the editor
of a publishing company,
said they liked the song I wrote,
and they're interested in me,
said they'd just might buy my song
if I changed a line or two,
but I wrote that song about the woman I love
and you know that woman is you.
I'd rather stay in the country,
and work out in the cold,
than live in a castle
filled with a liar's gold,
I wrote that song about our love,
and every word was true,
I wrote that song about the woman I love

I decided to write that same song,
and not change one thing around,
sent a copy to that editor,
the one that turned me down,
said he's not the only one
that I sent my music to,

Love's Searching For You
She feels just like dying,
cheap and empty inside.
She'll spend the night crying,
can't believe how he lied.
She puts her head on her pillow.
Her teardrops start to fall.
Her man turned away from her,
after giving him her all.
But he drives away like some hero,
another conquest of the night.
He doesn't care about the sorrow,
the broken soul left in flight.
Finding love isn't easy.
It's a hard thing to do.
You'll go through many hard times,
finding someone who loves you
To all the broken hearted:
someone's looking for you.
To all the cold hearted people,
your day is coming too.
And tonight while she is crying,
I'm coming her way,
I'll dry every
teardrop...
forever...
and a day.
