I apologize up front for not strictly adhering to the classical rules for Pindaric or Horatian ode formats. I tried to construct a classical ode but that is not where my muse agreed I should go... (she can be that way when she wants me to talk about her!)
An Ode to a girl
(strophe)
I want to be- all for you,
to hold you close to touch you,
to see what's in your eyes.
The adornment--- softly you.
(antistrophe)
But being as i am,
Never will I show, do, be -
for the mere thought...
is greater in my fear, than in reality.
(caesura en paus)
Maybe a lullaby for you -
(epode)
so you drift away to sleep,
Maybe in my dreams I can do it.....
Maybe in your dreams I'll do it,
for in your dreams---
I might be real .
(thank you) ;-)

after the sad soliloquys.
borne down the winds of time---
then to the haunted field and bog,
to truths we know sublime...
We pause to grasp the meaning of
words lost upon the gale,
was it you my dear that tried to say---
I cry...
I bleed...
I fail...?
