Slow My Row
Posted On 11/01/2012 04:56:20

When something exciting is going on in my life, I get so caught up in it I forget to slow down and enjoy it. And sometimes I get so distracted by it that I don't use good judgement and I do things without thinking it through.

I love having a good time. It's exactly what I live for. Now to convince myself I don't need to go 100 mph.

I LOVE Friday!!
Posted On 10/29/2012 05:43:24

Friday was a day that dreams are made of. I have relived it over and over in my head since. It's just about the only thing I've had to smile about this weekend.

Twenty-five years ago I was working in a factory and I met a boy who I had my first affair with. I call him a boy because he was 19 at the time. Five years my junior.

It was purely a sexual affair and it lasted about two years. We only saw each other occasionally. Whenever we needed to release some tension. lol

The only reason it ended was he moved away and we lost contact with one another.

That was until I found him on Facebook. Last Spring I ran across his profile and sent him a friend's request. He accepted and we talked a little in the beginning. Not a lot and definitely not about the past. I think we both were scared to bring it up because we weren't sure where we both stood. I mean, it had been 25 years ago and things change.

A month or so ago we exchanged numbers and he sent me a few text here and there. A couple weeks ago we were texting and all of a sudden we started flirting. And it was like we just erased all those years and we went back to how we use to be. It was awesome.

Last week he asked me to meet him for lunch and/or drinks. I accepted because I wanted to see him. I also knew I wouldn't be able to control myself and I didn't want us to fall back into the whole sex scene right away. So I asked a girlfriend to go with me.

That happened Friday and we all had so much fun together. We drank, chatted and laughed all afternoon. It was one of the best days. I'm really thankful for my girlfriend going with me because after seeing his face, I would have probably done anything he asked me to. lol

Mouse House
Posted On 10/24/2012 05:16:40

I love to play jokes on people. I get that from my dad. If the opportunity arises to pull a prank, I can't resist. For example...

We live in the country so every Fall we have to battle the mice who try to find refuge in our warm house. Mind you, our house is old so the mice don't have too look to hard to find a way in. It's quite aggravating.

Last year we discovered a nest of mice in one of the drawers in the husband's dresser. They had taken the tips off of some Q-tips he had stored under his bathroom sink to build their nest. When he discovered some of the Q-tips missing the tips, he thought I had purchased a bad box. That is until we found out what truly happened to them.

Last week I was at the Dollar Tree and I ran across a toy mouse that looked pretty realistic. So I bought it and a box of Q-tips. I'm going to take the tips off and build a little nest for my toy mouse in the husband's underwear draw.

Going to be fun at my house tonight.

Boomer Polls
Posted On 10/10/2012 07:26:37

Today I had some spare time so I took a look at the poll section of My Boomer Place. Some of those polls are hilarious. If you've never ventured over to the polls, you should. It's good for a laugh or two.

I wish we could add our own answers though. I think that would be fun.

Have you ever created a poll? I think I might, if I can come up with something fun to ask. :)

Love Reading Your Words
Posted On 10/08/2012 05:00:07

I love coming here and reading the blogs. My favorite are the ones that show alittle glimpse of the writers life.

I may not always comment but I do enjoy reading them.

Keep up the good work bloggers. :)

OMGoodness

Temptation is everywhere.

And it especially shows itself when I'm trying to be good.

I tell myself it's not worth it but I never listen.

Why oh why is it so hard to be good?

Moving On
Posted On 09/10/2012 06:06:09

I've sit here for the last hour going back and forth on whether I should post this here. Because I'm really going to open myself up for everyone to see. But I've told myself that no one knows me here and I plan on keeping it that way. Only because I want to be free to say what I want to say. You can take it (me) or leave it. That's totally up to you. I will not be offended if any of my "friends" here delete me. I know I'm not everyone's cup of tea.

Now having gave my disclaimer, let me begin my story.

Back in 2006 I met a man on the internet through another social networking site. Let's call him Joe to protect his identity. Joe lived a very long ways away from me. So far away that we never met in person. Which is probably a good thing.

Joe and I talked everyday. Not just online but also on the phone. We grew really close. So close that we loved each other more than friends should.

I knew that Joe was a player. That he cheated on his wife with other women. I didn't care because I was no angel myself.

A couple years later, Joe gets busted by his wife for cheating on her. His world is turned upside down. During that time, he pulled away from me. I understood because of what he was going through with his wife and kids.

When it was all said and done, Joe and his wife divorced. Joe started a new relationship pretty quick after leaving his wife. His new girlfriend and him moved in right away. I knew Joe wasn't the type to be alone for long so I wasn't surprised by this development. Was I jealous of the new girlfriend? Sometimes. But I knew in my heart that it was best for us both to just let him go live his new life.

We would talk on the rare occasion but nothing like in the beginning. Not because I didn't want to but because Joe had moved on and he didn't need me anymore. I grew to accept that fact. At first I didn't want to but the more I was ignored the easier it became.

Last week I get a message from Joe. He was being all flirty and playful like the old days. What do I do? I shut him down like nobodies business. He acted all dumbfounded by it. He told me that he always thought that one day we would be together. (ha) I told him that a flower don't grow without water and our relationship hadn't been watered in a long time (well over a year). He got mad but you know what, I feel almost relieved. Maybe it's because there was finally some closure.

Is it possible to be sad and happy at the same time?

Death Is Inevitable
Posted On 09/04/2012 05:47:10

Today I finally had a will made. And it feels good to have that off my shoulders.

The husband and I talked about making a will for years. We just never seemed to get around to it. Call it denial or just plain laziness. Either way, it didn't happen.

But this year has been a rough one on our family, as far as deaths go. And, I imagine, the older we get, the more folks we know will be passing. So, we might as well come to terms with it and prepare. Because no one can escape death. It's just a matter of when and where.

Last night I was surfing the internet and I came across a website that offered free wills. Nothing is better than free, right? So I made a free account and filled out the questions and the website did the rest. I printed it off and took it down to the bank this morning and had it notarized.

I also made one for the husband. He's suppose to get his notarized. I will probably have to nag him for a few weeks before he gets it done.

Feels good to have that off my shoulders. Now I can concentrate on the important things like what color to dye my hair next.
