Happiness and Sadness
Posted On 01/13/2011 08:59:04

I was just thinking that having made so many friends here on-line brings me both happiness and sadness.  Happiness because I know I have friends I can confide in, share confidences with, and with whom I can show my romantic side.

But it also brings sadness, because I would so like to meet many if not all of you, and distance, time and life in general makes that unlikely.  There are a special few, of course, I would like to hold close, hug, cuddle with and maybe even steal a kiss from.

Oh well, life goes on and I must concentrate on that that brings me the most happiness, and continue to dream for that stolen kiss and warm hug.

A Long, Long Time
Posted On 12/26/2010 08:56:00

The last ten days or so, I have been working very long hours on graveyard shift, stocking shelves at a toy store.  This seasonal job is done now, but I have learned one thing from this experienced.  Ten days (or so) can be a long, long time to be away from one's friends.  I have missed all of my friends here.

I have looked at all of the almost 60 comments that were sent to me during this time, and want to thank each and everyone of you.  I will try to write to all of my friends here soon.

I have learned that true friendship is a gift, one that much be treasured and nuritured.  All I can say is thank you to all of my friends here, for being true friends.

Merry Christmas
Posted On 12/14/2010 08:09:37

I am finally getting in the Christmas spirit, it has taken a long, long time this year.  I had such a long bout of the blues, then I battled feeling a little under the weather, but now the Christmas tree is up and the decorations are in place, and all seems to be well.

I think I may have posted this before, but here's one of my late Mother's Christmas poems for everyone to enjoy.

Christmas Cheer

Crowds of people rushing here and there,

A spark of excitement fills the air.

Hustling around from place to place,

Quick as lightning in the pace.

Rich with songs of glory past

Tells the story that lasts and lasts.

In every store a Santa appears

With his sleigh and eight tiny reindeer.

Silver bells ring out the reason

   For this happy, merry season.

Tis time to love and time to give,

To be alive and let others live.

Midst all this sparkle of bubble and beads,

Lets not forget the ones in need.

And as we go on our merry way,

   Let’s recall that wondrous day.

Son of God descended to earth

To give to man his right of birth.

By the way, there's no snow in Vegas, it's supposed to be 65 today.

A Poem to Share
Posted On 11/20/2010 06:20:08

Dreams-By-The-Sea suggested that I should share my late Mother's poems on my Blog, so I thought I would share the one I sent her today.

Eulogy to My Dog Prince

Once I had a dog all black and tan,

On the tip of his tail was a white spot.

He trotted beside me as out I ran

To play in the vacant lot.

We used to go swimming, he and I,

Off to the water so cool.

He seemed to have a gleam in his eye,

Which to me said “I’m no fool.”

I’d jump in the water and swim about,

While he’d watch a boat with a sail.

If I got tired I’d give a shout

And he’d rescue me with his tail.

When I went to school he’d follow me there,

And I’d go in the doors to learn.

He’d go home to his favorite chair,

And there for me he would yearn.

When three o’clock come, he was off with a rush,

To meet me as out of the school I’d run.

He’d wag his tail and with pride he’d bust,

As off we’d go for some fun.

Then he was called to the Master’s Land,

And I never did see him again.

But he sits there at the Lord’s right hand,

  Playing the waiting game.

The years have been many since he went away

As round me several dogs have sprint.

But I’ll tell you this, right to this day,

There is none like my dog Prince.

I hope everyone likes it, I'll try to add more from time to time.

Thanks to All My Friends
Posted On 11/12/2010 11:08:21

As I face a week of uncertainity due to starting a new job on Sunday and facing a scary diagnosis concerning my kidneys on Wednesday, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the friends I have found in just the few days since joining this site.

Each of you will make my week more bearable, for I know I will have somewhere to go, friends I can turn to, no matter what the week holds for me.

You have each made it possible for a shy person to express himself, to relieve some tensions, to be myself.

Hoping this finds each of you well, safe, happy and filled with love.

Have a Natural Day
Posted On 11/07/2010 06:09:58

I would like to wish everyone a Natural Day:

May you inherit the glow of the sunrise,

May you enjoy the wonder found in a child who has discovered a butterfly,

May you discover the innocence of a new born fawn,

May you receive the loyality of an Collie,

May you feel the warmth of a hug from someone close to you,

and may you be secure in the arms of your Lord.

Thank You to All

I would like to thank all of you who have made me feel so welcome since I joined this site.  I have met some really nice people.

My family celebrated the 100th birthday of my Aunt Thelma today.  She has no children or other family than us Nephews, Nieces and Great Nephews and Great Nieces.  It was really nice that some were able to come to Souther Nevada to help us celebrate 100 years of a great life.  I only wish she could have enjoyed it more, as she i so frail and her mind is slipping away from her.  She has outlived two husbands and all her Brothers and Sisters, but what a truly wonderful person.
