I was just on my Twitter page (PJ43033 feel free to Tweet me, follow me, friend me or whatever it is called over there) and I stumbled across an interesting quandary.
As we all know, WikiLeaks has stolen the global news spotlight with its controversial releases of sensitive and sometimes “Top Secret†information. One thing that is perfectly clear is that this has more than irked the U.S. government and the Obama administration. So much perhaps, that the Obama lead government has used the Department of Justice to influence a foreign nation to have the WikiLeaks founder jailed on sexual assault charges. Charges, that mind you, have already been brought to the court and dropped some months ago as it found the sexual encounters in question were consensual- though no condom was used.
You may also remember that wikkiLeaks threatened to release earth shattering “secrets†if the persecution of its founder continued. It is safe to say the persecution of this man is ongoing. And whether you are a supporter of WikiLeaks or not, you must admit that it does present a very good First Amendment argument. Be that as it may, we could be on the eve of the release of some very interesting information.
Thus we have the quandary itself; Is WikiLeaks poison pill Prez Obama's Kenyan birth certificate? The whole world is watching...
The Potential
The thought never crossed my mind. Of all of the things that could be released, this one completely slipped me, but it did get me to thinking once I read it, that’s for sure! It is not something I have not written about before, just never stopped to connect such an issue with wikiLeaks even though it makes so much sense. But what would happen if the embarrassing release by wikiLeaks was such a document?
Nothing at first I am sure. But come the changing of the guard after the Democrat mass exodus from Capitol Hill in 2011 will result in utter chaos. Mind you, it is a very complicated issue when you seek to remove a president for such an issue. Every bill that has been signed must be repealed. How can you repeal a stimulus from years ago? Deployment orders become unlawful. With so many troops “unlawfully deployed,†what becomes the logical recourse for those family members of fallen U.S. heroes? And then there are the legal charges against the president and anyone who aided in his election with knowledge of his ineligibility to hold the office. There are no easy answers and the listed problems only begin scratch the surface of such an issue.
Disenfranchisement
Under the Obama administration, many Americans have become disenfranchised from the American Dream itself; more than half of whom have voted in support of the president. The civil suits we be endless and given the sense of entitlement and abolishment of personal accountability the Obama led administration has fostered; they would be appropriate.
It would further erode race relations in the U.S. Relations that have already been strained by an administration defaulting to race when they found themselves weak in defending the issues at hand. Against health care reform; you were racist. Attended a Tea Party event; you were racist. Had difficulty understanding why Byrd was in office for so long; you were racist while his Klan history was ignored. There has been a resurgence in “reparations†discussions. All while earlier this year it was released that the Obama camp deliberately attacked white journalists and painted them as racists for not supporting his political positions. Again, this by deliberate design. A scheme which infiltrated his presidency and has led to anything BUT a post racial America. Imagine the rebellion of the die hard Obama supports for the forced removal of their president who has spent two years telling them they are no longer responsible for their own actions; that government is now responsible for them! Think about that for a second.
Bad becomes Good
What would be the right thing to do, would be the most difficult thing to do. What we are seeing today is the opposite. We want to condone the illegal because enforcing the law means being less popular. Even the Dream Act formally propose pathways to citizenship for not only those in the nation unlawfully, but for those here unlawfully AND with criminal records. It is this sense of entitlement that ensures upholding the U.S. Constitution and removing a president for fraud that makes the dilemma all the more complicated.
Arizona was heavily criticized for seeking to pass legislation the forced presidential and vice presidential candidates to provide full proof they were constitutionally eligible for the office before they would be placed on the state’s ballots. When a step is taken to uphold the law falls under attack; clearly the nation is heading in the wrong direction. It is what’s wrong that is now “right.â€
So yeah, when I saw mrsdennaswift’s (of the Swift Report) tweet; my wheels got to turning. I love it when that happens!

Freedom costs. Though we should never, we seem to constantly forget that freedom comes only to the courageous. The cowardly are simply not worthy of freedom; they simply cannot handle its responsibility. Every passing day, our cowardice condemns our courage. And for this, all freedom will be lost.
This has been popping up on college campuses.Wal-Mart has taken it a step further. It’s called fascism if you are wondering.
It seems innocent enough on the surface. It quickly becomes more complicated when we take time to appreciate the fact that we spend more time rationalizing the events of the world than we do aggressively defending freedom because of a misguided sense of political correctness. We are turning all Americans into walking versions of Wikki-Leaks rather than doing right in defending the American people as to not insult a given group of people. This to advance foreign policy agendas of the actual needs of the people at the expense of individual liberty and freedom.
It’s the deviant you know. Not only does he have the advantage, he has taken the advantage; fully. We are collectively concerned about what has happened with America and fearful of the direction in which America is heading.Recently polled Americans told a telling tale; only 26% felt America was heading in the right direction. The America train has not derailed; the deviant has hijacked it and taken the American conductor hostage.
First off, we must contend that deviance is attractive and we must openly admit this in order to understand the temperaments associated with the deviant. We are viscerally attracted to the deviant. We naturally like his smooth, suave swagger and attentively listen to his often overly ostentation orations. We like him until we discover who he is underneath. We find ourselves torn in defending him against others who see him for who he is before we do.Liken it to the bad guy always getting the good girl. She is enamored with the naughty nature of the deviant. The rebel without a cause swoons the good and is favored for his rebellion against the norm; and that is what a deviant is.A person who sways against the norms of social conditions.A deviant is not “bad†per se, but he can be all but pure evil when the good of social and societal norms are not forced upon him by the actual conductors of the American Train of Freedom and Liberty. The conductors have simply been asleep at the switch of the American course have allowed the deviant to assume full control.
Case in point; Charlie Rangel. Here we have a long standing, multiple time re-elected politician who sat on the Ways and Means Committee writing the very tax laws that he himself was cheating the American people out of in order to better meet his personal agenda. His words to the American people and his fellow elected officials when the charges began to rise were that Americans were not smart enough to catch him.Caught, he was censured by the federal government weeks after winning re-election in a landslide of wasted constituent votes that have now fallen moot.Deviance, when it goes unabated by the good in social norms always ends in epic disaster. The good conductors failed not only themselves, but Americanism in their support of the bad that can accompany deviance over the norms of good.
With the overwhelming majority of Americans clearly declaring that America is heading in the wrong direction, the same can be said for Americans in general where a deviant president was elected to bring changes to a nation that defied the elements that were actually good for the nation; even though many of them were considered “norms.â€In the wake of this reality, Americans are increasingly rebuking their support of such deviance and have in stunning numbers ousted Democrats representing the Obama deviant himself. In their place they have elected the norm of deviance when it comes to elected officials.
How do I know the newly elected will not yield the Americanism that Americans seek?Because Americans have long since stopped paying attention to whom they supported. It is a popularity contest of rhetoric over the conservative values Americans abide by in their personal lives.Born through political deviance is a culture of entitlement, absolution of personal responsibility, and deceit; all values that Americans individually do not cherish, but vote for in spite of themselves.
The Tea Party was born to return conservative values to politics which has begotten a Coffee Party designed to thwart in home values from entering politics which in turn led to a Tequila Part that aims to remove Latino voters from their default Democrat roots because a current Democrat regime is not “liberal†enough to trump the Rule of Law by unconditionally honoring blatant illegal activities within the nation’s borders. That’s quite the mouthful, but it is a mouthful of a rapidly deteriorating sense of Americanism.Given such political events and the efforts to instill a sense of entitlement over governing laws of the land, this new group of politicians will lack the in home values to return America to the stature of greatness it has lost in the previous two years.Deviance has consumed the nation and Americans are now forced to deal with its demons.Demons we have collected created by not insisting that those we elect are most like us and less like what they wanted to be.
Deviance in and of itself is not a bad thing and can yield great results when kept in check. We have failed to keep deviance in check by allowing ourselves to believe that controlling government was beyond our individual ability. How many times have you heard, “What can my one vote do about anything?â€It is the deviant that has instilled this sense of American ineptness upon the people. It is time we reclaim what is ours by returning to the values we as individuals hold true and force them upon our elected officials.Allowing it to exist in reverse is what has placed America on a collision course with disaster.
It is not that I am automatically repulsed by electronic and media changes… but I am.I freely admit to the fact that when a website changes it freaks me out because once I learn to circumnavigate something it becomes more muscle memory than cognitive accommodation.Call me old fashioned, or just plain old old when compared to the emerging generation; call me anything you want, but if I like something… I will use it.When that something gets changed, my first reaction is one of frustration because my fingers are immediately doing something the website does not like. That is when the cognitive accommodation phase comes in.
If I see that the changes (updates) make sense, my frustration level decreases and my fingers re-tool themselves in order to accommodate something that actually works better. And then there’s MySpace… or MyBLANK that says “Hey!I am My‘space’ (get it?) so use me more!â€
Well, my fingers are not re-tooling and my frustration level is not decreasing.I know this because if I blog on the new and “improved†MyBLANK using the double space between sentences that I was taught to do in school, between every sentence will appear a magical question mark… that I cannot not edit out!If the change made sense to me, I would be typing this using single space protocol… which I am not.
Be that as it may, many people are upset with MyBLANK for this recent upgrape. That is comforting because this means there are a lot of old people like me who do not like to re-tool their fingers for things that don’t make sense too!
Many have their own frustrations as to why MyBLANK did this (poor Tom).Well, MyBLANK has been hemorrhaging money and quite frankly, News Corps is pissed.I stumbled across an article a bit ago and found it interesting. It described, among other things as MyBLANK being “not acceptable and unsustainable.â€I found it so interesting that I went to share it to Myspace and post it as an update on my page.Guess what? You could Tweet it and share in Facebook… poor old MyBLANK was not even a sharing option. How telling. Here’s an excerpt:
“We’ve made adjustments in the cost structure and, most importantly in the last few weeks, we have relaunched MySpace with a focus on social entertainment.
“We feel really good about this relaunched product and it’s been generally well received by the opinion makers in the business.
“We also recognise the challenges. Current losses are not acceptable or sustainable. Our current management team did not create these losses but accept them. I give them credit for pouring their heart and sweat this problem.â€
“We feel really good about this relaunched product…†it says.Interesting.Is this really the best they could do?I guess so, but if they think they will attract the people they have lost to Facebook, they are sadly mistaken. But that’s not what gets me.Facebook is just so much less than the former MySpace.
Blogging is “notes†that you have no idea of who is responding to whom without going through the trouble of @ing everyone and their brother.A blank boring page that limits you to a text message of communication on your wall.Finding and adding new friends is troublesome at best because if you have met someone through a mutual friend, you really do not have access to them without being digitally assaulted by security blockers.Yep, that sums up the Facebook that has kicked the living daylights out of MySpace.Finding
Those who stayed with MySpace did so because it was more.We could communicate on much higher levels and share much far greater exchanges of concepts, theories and ideologies with one another. Those who fled to Facebook did so because they were more attracted to the lesser, more basic forms of communication.Unfortunately, that is a sign of the times.
A wham, bam, thank you ma’am later and MyBLANK is born… in hopes of enticing the return to MySpace, they launch an unstable program long before troubleshooting it or even adequately beta testing it.This is the result, and like health care reform it has caused more damage than it has created good.Knee jerk reactions never end well as MyBLANK will likely find out as its bloggers begin seeking refuge elsewhere.
And that is what I liked most about MySpace. It’s blogging.Sure, it got quirky from time to time.We all remember the “Kudos Scandal†and the comments listing in straight order. The issues caused some frustration, but blogging was quickly restored to order. In general, blogging on MySpace was second to none in my opinion.Hell, I now write for profit on two websites because of my bogging success on MySpace. It’s like one of those “MySpace, I could not have done it without you†moments (tear drop, sniff, sniff).Sad to see it go, but I think it’s going.
Despite News Corps’ income increases, MyBLANK is a thorn in its side. Its continued loss of revenue will surely sink it… and if they think this is its saving grace they have another thing coming. The fact of the matter is that writers have long since called for MySpace to show them some love. Many fled MySpace then, before the Facebook boom while the majority stayed loyal. What the fleeing writers wanted was a way to have their work recognized by MySpace; for MySpace to go out and drive other writers in.You see, the intellectual calling for MySpace was always there; it’s just that MySpace never did anything about it – other than blow off the intellectual potential it had.
Myspace should have shrank and appealed to the intellectual, not try to compete on the lesser playing field of text message updates of who is standing in line at what grocery store.Truth be told, those attracted to MySpace don’t really care about that crap – we care about exchanging real information and sharing ideas and concepts.
What is obvious is that MySpace completely missed the boat on this golden opportunity. The only question that remains is whether in missing the boat of opportunity, has MyBLANK sunk the MySpace boat?
It is with trepidation that I now even occasion MyBLANK in hopes things have improved. My blog is pretty much no good to me.I can’t even access it to respond to comments anymore. If I edit a blog, it defaults back to the original, comments appear in funny places and nothing really makes sense. It is quite unlike the integration of 1.0 and 2.0.At least then you could return to the older version if you were more comfortable with it.
What we have now is cyber chaos in digital world of people who are more focused on words than they are semantics. And it is semantics that MyBLANK represents.“We are like facebook too†is what they are saying. No they are not, they never were, they never will be and they should never want to be.
Return MyBLANK to MySpace, go after the intellectual and leave the shallow text message updating world to those who are from that gene pool. It’s kinda like what my dad used tell me.
“Just be the you that you are and be good at it.Never want what the other has because they are good at something else.Do you, do it well and be proud of it.That’s how you succeed.â€
