Charmed

Charmed

A walk in the woods and what do I find?

A charming odd house to my surprise.

With wonder I stand as I gaze in delight,

feelings from childhood dancing and light.

Oh, how I wish I could enter and play,

but who might be watching or waiting inside.

Dizzy from daydreams and wishes to stay,

now suddenly comes a desire to hide.

I flee back into the covering brush

only to linger from the adrenaline rush.

I turn to look one more time at my find,

no longer there? Am I out of my mind?

Robin's Reason
Posted On 12/06/2010 12:21:58

Feeling a bit frustrated this evening...why is it that some of us can envision a positive, loving, giving, caring, creative, beautiful world in which ALL people are valued equally and have their basic needs met, and are therefore able to give and work at 100%. "We" see unity rather than separation, cooperation replacing competition, loving instead of hatred, life in place of death, and peace resulting from these changes. How is it just common sense to "us", and such a threat to so many others? I want so desperately to find the "magic" words to express how I feel and see things without angering others. I long for them to know that "we" want the best for "them" as well. My beliefs do not come from a place of laziness or entitlement, they don't come from wanting to take from others, or deny anyone their freedom. My beliefs and feelings come from a place of compassion, empathy, and love for others as well as myself. They come from someone who knows suffering, sickness, abuse, lack, and despair...yet chooses to have hope, faith, and charity. They come from someone who wants health so they can get back to working and giving and taking care of self, as well as helping others. They come from the desire for ALL to experience wellness, joy, and happiness.

"We" want to work together, to find common ground, and to enlist the help of everyone to join in. We believe in justice, fairness, and the right of ALL people to pursue happiness. We need serious changes in order to accomplish this. We cannot continue to hold on to "outdated" political, social, economic, and religious philosophies. It is time for CHANGE! It is time to stop fearing change and welcome it. It is time to stop name calling and fear-mongering. We are so fortunate to live in this amazing country, a country that at least in theory embraces diversity, intellectual thought, and freedom of speech.  We need to have the courage to live these values.  I am so tired of hearing people whether it be politicians, clergy, the media, or anyone calling each other "anti-american" , "communist", "socialist", "terrorist" when they don't agree with the other's beliefs or statements.  We need mature adults to work together to find solutions to our problems, and point out, as well as build from the positives we already have.  We need educated and experienced adults working together for the good of ALL, not scapegoating and blaming others for "our" collective failures.  "We" are not perfect, we are human beings who want the best for everyone. It is time to think as well as act, and listen more than we speak. It is a time to care, educate, and rethink our history, social issues, economics, politics, and religion. It is time to let go of what hasn't or is no longer working, and create from what has, is, and may work for "our" future.

In spite of my frustration this evening, I know that tomorrow is a new day with open possibilities. I also know someone somewhere will have an idea that will spark positive discourse and lead the way to positive change. I know there are so many people with these same feelings and desires, that "we" will eventually succeed in creating a more equal, cooperative, productive, efficient, positive, healthy, happy, loving, and peaceful world. "We" believe that "we" can choose what "we" want to believe, and as we change our thoughts this will begin to change our beliefs, and then our behavior, and eventually change "our" world.  I guess like many, I am impatient. I KNOW it is possible, and want so much for others to BELIEVE so we can move forward and begin to eradicate much of the present human suffering.  I believe we can each leave this world better than the way we found it...It really is possible :) May Peace Prevail.

Love all*ways,

Robin's Heart

Robin's Whimsy ~ Extra Sad
Posted On 12/06/2010 11:43:11

:(Extra Sad):

I feel extra sad today.

It feels very bad.

It feels all alone

and wishes it had...

A friend to cuddle up with,

and a warm squeezy hug

all snuggly and tight...

cozy, and just right.

It wants to hear a story

or a soft lullaby;

a wonderful memory,

and then have a good cry.

It longs for some closeness;

to be held...some human touch.

Oh, how I wish my arms were long enough!

I'd wrap them all around the sad

until it didn't feel so bad.

Robin's Whimsy ~ Words
Posted On 12/06/2010 11:28:09

~Words~

I have these words inside my head just waiting to be set free.
They long to sail in the breezy air and flutter way up high...
like beautiful colorful butterflies dancing in the clear blue sky.

They want to sing, they want to dance, they want to play outside.
They want to shout, they want to yell, and then to laugh out loud!
They want to to skip, they want to run, and twirl round and round.

Like spinning tops and soda pop, and lollipops on sticks.
Like whirly birds, and tall wind mills making funny swooshing sounds.
Like children playing dizzy games until they all fall down.

Back up they jump, they twist and turn, now spinning even faster.
Upside down, inside out, they fall again in laughter.

As they rest to catch their breath on the cool hard ground.
Lying still, they suddenly hear creatures making new found sounds.

Like chirping birds and cricket songs, and busy buzzing bees...
barking dogs and lady bugs, and squirrels skampering up trees.

They rock and roll, twist and shout, and flip flop back and forth.
Who comes first, what comes next, why is passing when.
They scream and shout, or softly whisper, and sometimes count to ten.

These words you see want to find order, give meaning and expression;
to make sense and share feelings, and leave a lasting impression.
