A Prayer is Answered
Posted On 01/30/2014 06:47:05

As he approached his front door key in hand he could hear a familiar sound coming from within his house.  It had been an especially trying day at the office and he had hoped for a night filled with love, but from the sound he heard he knew that would not to be.

He opened the door and there on his sofa sat his beautiful wife, sobbing, tears streaming down her soft cheeks, forming a small stream in the creases he found so sensual.

They had been married more than three decades and he beloved was having much trouble dealing with the changes that came to her during this time in her life.

Setting down his coat, the man hurried to where his wife sat and sobbed.  He sat next to her, placing one hand in her lap, instantly feeling her hand take his and squeezing and he placed his other hand around her neck.  She quickly laid her head on the front of his chest.

He said not a word, choosing to let her squeeze his hand, ever so tightly, while he stroked her hair with his other hand.  He leaned forward and kissed her cheek, inadvertantly tasting her tears.

For more than an hour they sat, neither moving, neither speaking.  The man felt his wife's tension relax.  He saw her tears start to dry and her grip on his hand lessen.  Her eyes were closed and her breathing eased.

It was at this point that he looked up to the Heavens above and he spoke his first words since arriving home.  In a low voice, little more than a whisper, he said, "Dear God, I come to you this night with gratitude on my lips for you have blessed me with this woman and with her love.  You have allowed my love to find a place in her heart and you have made our life together one to be forever cherished."  "Lord," he continued, "it is at times such as this that you show me the true meaning of the love you have blessed us with and the true meaning of what you have taught us."  "Lord, I come to you now, not to ask for anything for us, but to promise you, before all your Angels, that I will cherish this woman, your gift to me, and I will love her even after you have called us to your side, even after this world ceases to be, even after every star in the night sky fades away."

The man then took a deep breath, preparing to end his prayer, when he heard a voice come from the lips of the lover he held.  Softly the voice said "Amen."

What Could Have Been
Posted On 01/29/2014 11:34:21

On this day as the storms moves in,

as the skies darken and the wind dost blow,

my heart grows sad and my mood does sink,

as my mind wanders and wonders of what could have been.

I wonder about the decisions I have made,

and I allow my thoughts to dream,

What if I did this rather than that,

What if I had kissed her instead of she,

And my mind wanders and wonders of what could have been.

Had I done this rather than that,

If I had gone here instead of there,

If I had followed my heart instead of my mind,

Would I have passion today instead of not,

And my mind wanders and wonders of what could have been.

So, as the rain begins to fall, taking me down with each drop,

And the wind blows harder and harder, blowing my dreams about,

As the sun hides behind one cloud, then another,

My soul burns and my desires deepen,

And mind mind wanders and wonders of what could have been.

The Old and the New
Posted On 01/01/2014 02:01:48

The old man watched the fireworks fly as they welcomed in the new year and he contemplated his life, where he had been, where he was at and where his life would go.

The old man wondered if his life had been worthwhile.  He had not participated in any great new discovery, nor had he made any earth shattering contributions to the world.  He had only done his best, as average as that had been.  He wondered, has this been enough?

The old man wondered about where he was at.  He was now retired from the workforce, no longer did he contribute to any business or organization as a professional worker.  He spent his time tending to the grounds surrounding his domicile, caring for his pet and he liked to talk to many others using the written word of the Internet.  He wondered, is this enough?

The old man pondered where his life would go from the here and now and he saw more of the same and he wondered, is this all the life I have left?  Will this be enough?

He knew not enough of what.

So, as the old man watched the fireworks fly, saw the colors and heard the explosions a tear came to his eye.

I have often wondered, since coming to Boomer, why so many people prefer to send comment alerts over messages?  My heart and my soul sing when I receive personal messages from those of my friends that send them.  Comment alerts are nice, but, at least for me, seem so impersonal.  I am asking all of my friends to please send me messages, as they help to ease my blues, my feelings of lonliness, my longings for personal human contact.  Thank you do all my friends here for being my friend and I do hope to hear from you soon.

Post Halloween Blues

Halloween has come and gone,

Thanksgiving soon to come,

ghosts and goblins are done,

soon we'll have turkey and rum.

The romantic vampire is sleeping now,

To the grave the zombie goes,

Soon platters of food will bow,

to Christmas presents complet with bows.

Fun and pranks thus give way,

to days of overeating meals,

familes come for that day,

when warmth and joy is all we feel.

Another Halloween Story
Posted On 10/29/2013 09:44:38

The vampire roamed the English countryside on that moonless, cold night.  He sought but one thing, blood, so warm, so royal.  He knew that with one bite he could add royal blood, he knew with one bite the Princess would be his.

With the stealth of cold mist he entered her bedroom.  With the blink of an eye he moved to her side.  He lifted her from he sleeping position and as soon as her eyes opened he had her in trance.

He rubbed at her neck, a vampire trick to warm the blood for his bite.  He thought of her taste, he thought of making her his; but his eyes could not leave hers, so dark, so deep, so beautiful.

For the first time, he looked at her, really looked at her.  His eyes saw her beauty, his hands felt her pureness.  His cold heart warmed, his skin became pink, his soul returned to God, his goodness came through.

He stood, laying the Princess back on her bed and he left, this time through the door, one again with nature.  The beauty of the Princess, her beauty from within, had returned this evil Vampire into a man, so in love, a lonely love, a love he could never have, a love he could never hold.

A Hole in the Heart
Posted On 10/24/2013 03:30:03

The old man cried for he knew not what to do.

He knew he was loved and he knew from who.

Yet, the old man cried, for a need so long ignored,

The old man's hole in the heart.

And the old man cried,

Where's the romance, where's the passion?

The old man cried,

his heart so full of love,

but the hole in his heart,

grew and grew.

The old man cried,

Where's the romance, where's the passion?

The old man cried,

For love came to him cool,

For the hole in his heart,

Where warmth should reside,

The old man cried,

Where's the romance, where's the passion?

The Witch and the Vampire
Posted On 10/19/2013 08:04:45

They met quite by accident.  The vampire, flying in bat form, weary from his long journey landed on the witch's brrom as she headed home for the night.

Taking human form the vampire asked the witch if he might hitch a ride for a few minutes and she agreed; being a witch she feared not his bite.  He was still astride her broom as they landed at her cottage in the enchanted forest.

The witch, Margot was her name, was a beautiful lady with a warm heart and soul. In layman's terms she would be called a good witch.  She was holding her broom when she saw in the vampire's eyes an uneasiness.

The vampire, who went by Count Robbie, told the beautiful, magical lady that he did not trust himself to stay.  He recounted to her of becoming a vampire some centuries before, from the bite of a vampiress.  he had been a simple man, a man who perferred to love over evil.  He had never wished to bring evil on anyone, but after being bitten, what could he do?  He found her so lovely that the urge to bite and make her his was great.

Margot thougt for a moment and told her new friend that she might be able to help free him from his curse, if he wanted, but that it would be a long and painful process.

Count Robbie quickly agreed.  She took his hand, so cold from his curse and led him into her cottage.  There she laid him on her bed and proceeded to join him there.  Through the night she chanted and she fed him one brew after the next. Each brew brought more pain to him body and soul.  He cried and he moaned, and he begged her to continue.

With the rise of the sun, she rolled on top of him and she kissed him.  She ran her hands up and down his thin frame.  She spoke to him of love and of passion and she proceeded to show him both.

She continued this process, brews at night and love making during the day for a month. He had never felt so much pain and so much love in his entire life, centuries old may it be.

On the night of the next full moon she took his hand and helped him from her bed. She took him to her mirror and to his amazement he could see his reflection.  He could see that his skin had regained a normal color and that his eyes were again green.  Look as he might, he could not find the fangs that had both fed him and cursed him for the many centuries past.

She took his hand and told him that he was again human and that he would live out his life and eventually pass on, as a human.  She told him that his heart again pumped warm blood through his veins and that he could again feel love.

As he looked at his savior, he could see a change in her.  Her beautiful black hair was turning gray before his very eyes.  Winkles formed across her face and her hands took on the form of an aged woman.  She told him how working her magic for so long had turned her old and that she soon would leave him forever.  She sruggled to stand straight and she kissed him, on last time, and as she released her kiss, she turned to dust.

Margot, the good witch had made the ultimate sacrafice to save a soul that had been cursed for centuries.  Robbie's heart was broken, for he had so desired to live out his days with her.  He would go on and he would find love again, but in his heart Margot would always occupy the most special place.

Vampire Love
Posted On 10/15/2013 09:18:33

As the vampire rose from his coffin he looked for his Mistress, his love.  Yes, even vampires can love.  He stood and he stretched and he looked at the coffin he knew his love used for sleep.

The vampiress still slept and he tenderly leaned over and kissed his love, the one Mistress of the Night that had stolen his heart, cold though it be.  With his kiss her eyes opened.  They were dark, as dark as her soul, but they sparkled with the love she had for her Count.

The vampire helped his lady from her coffin and they embraced.  Their bodies hardened from the mere touch, the mere feel of their lover's body.  The vampire looked deep into those dark eyes of his Mistress and he exclaimed his everlasting love for her.  She replied in kind and they kissed.  Their lips pressed together hard and their tongues met.

Soon they expressed their love for each other in a way only vampires can.  First he sunk his fangs into her neck and he sucked her blood, a soft sucking, a tender sucking of her blood.  She moaned and she whispered for him to continue.  When he finished, she rubbed his neck and finding the spot she was looking for, she sunk her fangs deeply into him.  His moans were low and sensual and his embrace of her strenghtened.  They were one, as only vampires can be one.

When they were both finished with this strange vampire love making they were off together, a vampire couple, looking for their next meal.

Happy Halloween Season.
