The year was 1870, the place was in the middle of nowhere, Wyoming. Fall was in full swing and All Saints Day Eve, aka Halloween approached. The air was cold, snow was surely on its way, but on this night the moon shone bright and stars could be seen in all their glory. The young couple rode west, not stopping to rest. They had just eloped in a simple ceremony performed by a travelling preacher who had partaken of a little too much drink, the type that warms the body on such a cold night. The young groom and bride could not stop, for her father had vowed to kill them both for he had forbidden their marriage, as he had tried to forbid their love. So, they rode on, shivering in the night air, but with the warmth of a true love heating their souls. About at the midway point of the long night, they stopped, unable to go on any longer. They found what they believed to be a secluded spot among some boulders, bushes and trees. The young groom built a small fire and made a bed of the one blanket the had between them. Soon, holding each other tight for warmth, yes, but more in a gesture of young love, they slept. No more than one hour into their dreams, a man came to their camp. He moved most silently. he was an evil man and he carried a large shotgun, loaded with all his hate. He levelled his shotgun and he ended both the marriage and the lives of the young couple, or so he thought. The evil man left the young couple in their eternal, loving brace, mounted his horse and started for the shack he called home. He sneered as he looked back and he mumbled a curse. He had barely departed the campsite, than he felt someone, some presence behind him. He looked back, but saw nothing. As he rode on he again felt the presence. It was an odd feeling, a fearful feeling. He rode faster, but the presence he felt he could not escape. At a curve in the road, a blind curve, he stopped and looked back again. The sneer on his face turned to a look of panic and he spurred his horse into a gallop; but as he made the turn he quickly pulled up and stared at the sight in front of him. There, on the trail, directly in front of him, sitting on two of the most beautiful horses he had ever seen, was the daughter he had just slain and her young husband. They laughed at the man, they held hands, their eyes were dark, but were gleaming. The leaned over and they kissed, a deep, long kiss. They then again looked at the man and laughed a most hardy laugh. Inside the man rose both a feeling of great fear and of even greater anger. He reloaded his shotgun and fired at the young couple who sat laughing at him, He repeated this action many times until he exhausted his load of shells. The young couple were unfazed, they just continued to laugh at him and to kiss ever so passionately. The evil man could take no more. He dug his spurs in to his mount and the steed bolted forward. As he passed through the young couple he could hear their laughter even louder and he could feel their love that he so despised. About then his horse stopped short and the man flew over the head of the steed and directly into a 500 foot gourge and justice had been done. The young couple turned and rode their magnificant mounts slowly. They held hands and their eyes continued to gleam. To this day travellers along that trail and in that place say that can hear the giggles of a young couple and they can feel in their hearts a warm, everlasting love.

As the witching hour approached and moon beams filter through the sheer curtins of her bedroom window, the lonely women turned restlessly in her bed. Her long, red hair hung loose over her pillow, her petit foot and ankle lay exposed from under her blankets. Outside the window an owl, his eyes shining bright in the moon light, sang a woeful song of hunger as he scanned the ground for his next meal. The women again turned in her sleep as she dreamt of the coming of a lover. Someone who could make her whole, someone who could appreciate the burning flame that scorched her very soul and boiled the blood that pumped through her veins. A man who could hold her tight and kiss her deep. As she slept a sudden cold wind blew open her window, exposing the room to a drop in temperature. The sudden blast of cold made her shiver as her eyes opened. The shiver was not only brought on by the sudden cold, but by fear - fear combined with a feeling of great passion. The woman found that she could not move, save for the shivers that continued first up then down her spine. She could not speak, but she could feel a presence moving towards her from behind. She knew in her heart that this presence was both dark and evil, but she also knew he was bringing her a feeling of erotic excitement. Her heart raced and her mind became muddled with pictures of passion. Every nerve in her body tingled with expectation, of what she was not sure. The presence, upon reaching her, as she lay on her side in her bed, laid down behind her and she felt his breath on her neck. It was both hot and cold at the same time; something she could not understand. She felt his touch, as he ran his long, thin fingers through her hair, soon moving it to one side, exposing her soft neck. The tingling she felt increased ten fold as he slowly, softly embraced her. She felt, through her nightgown and the clothing he wore, a feeling of extremely cold skin, a cold that expressed evil in itself. As he squeezed her ever tighter against his body, she felt his tongue licking the side of her neck, as if he was tasting her very being, her soul, he seemed to be tasting her life. It was then that she felt the pain of his fangs as they entered her neck, going deep to find the source of their intentions. She swooned as she felt her steaming hot blood leave her body and enter the mouth of the presence, but she did not die. Instead she felt a love building within her. A love for the presence that was drinking her blood and was squeezing her ever tighter against his body. As he completed his tasked, he released her from his squeeze and she turned to find herself looking deeply into a pair of the darkest eyes she had ever seen. She felt her hand being taken into his and she marvelled at the new life she had found, the life of a Mistress of the Night.
On that cool fall night, As Halloween neared and the moon shone bright, The beautiful lady laid her head down on bed, To wish but to dream of her brave and loving Knight.
The air was cool, the window was open, Her mind dreamt of a Knight so very, very verile, But soon the air turned cold and moving so swift, and she felt him sitting near her and she learned of pure evil.
She tried to move, she tried to scream, But movement and sound were not to come, She felt his hand as it brushed her hair, All red and long, to the nape of her neck.
She felt him rub her lovely white neck, she felt him lean forward with breath so cold, She felt his fangs as he bit in deep, And soon she knew, she belonged only to him.
So on this night, she dreamed of a Knight, So on this night, She became the Countess of all nights.

I don't live in a town named Philly, I'm not a goat, so I'm no Billy, My house is on a flat, so it isn't hilly, But this is a day my heart feels silly.
When one sees only sadness and retreats into the darkest recesses of the mind, one must find happiness and the light that only love may bring. One must find the one, the Lady or the Knight of one's life, the love who shares the twinkling light found in the heart and transmitted through the eyes. The darkness of the mind is so terrifying that it can destroy, but the darkness of the mind is no match for the brightness that love brings to the heart and to the soul. One should never visit those dark recesses of the mind, for one can easily be caught without light for all of one's day in this kingdom. Only love can show one the way back to the light. Only love can restore one's world and I thank God that I have found love here to bring me out of my darkness and back into the light.
