What I Would Say Before Congress I would feel great pleasure to be allowed to stand before a podium in from of all members of the United States Congress for about an hour and to simply state what is on my mind concerning our nation. The voices of the American people are ignored today, unless they speak of that which is viewed favorable, or directly in line with our representatives in office. To those in Washington, we serve one simple purpose in their completely mapped out agenda for the future of America. That purpose of the people is to simply serve as a source of funds for those in Washington waiting to spend it upon arrival. To those that we have selected to represent our voices, that is our soul function in the whole concept of the existence of America today. If I was to stand before congress, here is what I would say… I address you today, not as just an individual, not as just an American citizen, and not as a representative of a specific political party. Today, I stand before you as your boss. Many years ago, all of you forgot whom it is you work for, and in addition have forgotten the true function for which you hold your current office. You work for me, and even thought that may sound strange to you, with your misconception of your very role as a representative, it is completely true. Your job is not to lead me. Your job is not to dictate what I should or should not do, other than that related to valid laws within our great nation. Your job is not to protect me when I may fall upon difficult times to ensure that I have the ability to continue to live my life on a level of which I may be accustomed. Your job is not to guarantee that I do not fall upon difficult times, nor is it your job to lift me from those difficult times. Your job is not to promise that I will be provided with an income should I find myself unemployed, and create the possibility of being dependent upon you as opposed to just finding another job to take care of my family and myself. Your job is not, nor ever has been to provide for us what we should provide for ourselves based on our own abilities. And with what I have said thus far, I have explained the main problem that most of us have with the Federal Government. That is you simply do not understand your role as representatives of the people. There is one issue that needs to be made crystal clear, because it has not only driven a wedge between the two sides of our American society, but to allow that wedge to remain stable in its part of what I believe to be your plan. The wedge I speak of is the division that you have placed between the Republicans and the Democrats that has grown to the point that unity has all but vanished in this country. My points are simple, and all of you should not only know this, but also insist on it as being a natural manner of logic. Those of you who hold office and are Republicans do not represent only Republicans. You represent every citizen in this country equally. Those of you who hold office and are Democrats do not represent only Democrats. You represent every citizen in this country equally. How dare any of you think that you have the right to decide which people are worthy of your representation. You are responsible for the division that has basically split this nation down the middle, and you are the reason that this illusion of hatred for those not associated with a selected political party exists today. You have created an invisible civil war within our nation between the right and the left, and what is so very sad is that you not only know it, but use it as a tool in your efforts to continue to strive to be the political party in charge. You have intentionally created and maintained this division, and you show this daily with your actions and your words. That is not representation of the people of this great country. That is representing yourselves and your own personal and political agendas, and apparently that is more important than what is good for the nation and the people who call it home. Now, in speaking of the state of the American Economy, I understand that it is not a perfect science, with the countless factors that must be considered in its entirety. I will start with the obvious points with my overall analysis of the economy. With your inability to put forth a national budget without the inclusion of waste, fraud, and corruption, with your unjustified and wasteful spending habits, the accumulated national debt, and your lack of understanding that you cannot spend money if you do not have money, I can only come to the following conclusion. You are either economic idiots are you have a goal of collapsing the American economy. With your choices, nothing else even comes close to making sense. Your plans and actions defy economic logic, and all you have done, especially in the last two years has not only lacked in the goal of stimulating the economy, it has actually hindered the natural process of economic stimulation. How can the economy be stimulated when your goal is to pay those who will not work? Government spending does not, nor ever has stimulated the economy or created jobs, unless you include government jobs. You have not created actual jobs, and we know that. You have to have some type of business to create an actual job. Your concept of spending in excess of $200,000 to create a job that pays $40,000, and is only a temporary job simply does not qualify as anything short of economic stupidity. With the push you have made in the name of stimulating the American economy, you have gained control and regulated the automobile industry…You have gained control and regulated the banking industry…And with the health care program that you all have voted on and made a reality that will be in full force in 2014, unless it is stopped, you have stepped upon new territory. Those of you who voted in favor of the health care bill, and even the president who signed it have knowingly violated the Oath to uphold the United States Constitution. All of you who voted in favor of the plan, whether you are on the right or the left should resign from your current offices, because you no longer are willing to follow the Constitution. You cannot force the American people to purchase a product, and you cannot fine them or even place them in jail for not purchasing and maintaining health care insurance. You are not allowed to make that choice, either. With the health care plan, small businesses and large corporations are guaranteeing that jobs will be eliminated in order to survive. Doctors are already refusing patients or being more selective with patients in order to actually maintain control of their own profit. Insurance companies are being forced to take on clients with pre-existing conditions at their expense. You see, you make the rules, but someone else always has to pay for it. You do not get to tell a business who they are to select as clients. Insurance companies are promising that the cost of medical insurance will increase. You said this plan would decrease the cost of medical care. This was never about providing affordable health care, or improving the quality of health care, and most of us not only knew it, but even told you that we did not approve of this plan. And even though you work for us, our voices were ignored, and you did what you always do. You represented yourselves, not us. Just as with the automobile industry and the banking industry, you have now gained control and regulated the health care industry. You have totally renovated a health care industry that was just fine for 85% of us, and you did so against the will of the majority of Americans…That is not true representation…That is representing yourselves And then, there is this pathetic excuse for border security, that is in fact one of your main rolls as representatives of the people. Our southern border is a war zone. We have allowed 20 million people to enter our nation by spitting on our immigration laws and bypassing the legal process that is in place to prevent that very thing. You speak of amnesty, which is your method of suddenly changing the number of illegal immigrants from 20 million to zero with the stroke of a pen. Do you think we are so stupid to not understand you cannot eliminate the problem with paperwork that makes the number only disappear? You are afraid to enforce existing laws because that would surely affect the Hispanic votes that would allow you to remain in the office you now hold. Again, that is representing yourselves, not the people of America. Amnesty will solve nothing. What it will do is erase the number of illegal immigrants now in our nation, and we will start our count toward the next 20 million. What are you people thinking? And because of this lack of understanding of border security, and enforcing the existing laws, you are now attacking the state of Arizona, and labeling them as racist as they try to do what you are unwiling to do to protect our borders. You have failed miserably in this area, and even you know it...But nothing shall come between you and your goal of keeping those votes in your favor.
In closing, I will say that you are not totally to blame for the current declination of America. Those who made such poor decisions to allow you to represent us are to blame as well. But, having said that, your created division has allowed voting to be based on that created division. You all have forgotten what you are here to do. You have forgotten whom it is that you work for, and whom you represent. You have forgotten the Oath you took to uphold the Constitution. And most of all, you have lost your true love for this great country. You are killing America, and if you do not see that, then that is even more reason for you not to be where you are. The mid-term elections in 2010 should have sent a loud, clear message to you, that we, the people are going to once again show you who is actually in charge. If you do not believe this, keep doing what you are doing, and watch what happens in 2012. You will not continue to ignore our voices and not suffer the consequences. That is our promise to you. Ten Questions I Would Like To Ask The President It has been quite obvious in his first two years in office, that President Obama will not be asked questions that will actually give an explanation as to his overall intentions and directions for our nation. Those who ask those tough questions are considered to be haters, racists, or those who are simply opposed to the views of the Democratic Party. The lack of answers to those tough questions is the very reason that our nation is being dismantled before our eyes, and we are intentionally kept in the darkness to not clearly see the agenda that is before us. Oh, how I would love to personally ask our president the following ten questions. It would certainly give us a better understanding of the man in the Oval Office. He remains a mystery, by choice and those he represents are paying the price for that mystery. Question Number One…Mr. President, do you not see a problem with all that has been proposed to help the American People during the trying times related to the economic recession that the need for the people, themselves to stand up and take individual responsibility for their own lives has not been the main component with the focus of the overall vision? Question Number Two…Mr. President, when considering the fact that the American People, themselves are forced to make changes within their individual budgets and spending habits, do you not see that there is a problem with the lack of discipline within congress, and with you as the president to not see how that same discipline should apply to you, as well with the spending of our money? Question Number Three…Mr. President, do you consider your power with the office you hold to allow you the right to choose which areas of society to target (the wealthy) to financially support those within society that refuse to show individual responsibility and concern for the supporting of themselves (the poor)? Question Number Four…Mr. President, In these times in which we, as a nation must be concerned about national security, why are you opposed to a law that has been adopted by the state of Arizona that by design, will allow for security of the southern border of that state? Question Number Five…Mr. President, while an estimated 85% of Americans had health care insurance, and the majority voice of the people made it clear of their opposition to the National Health Care System that you personally endorsed, are we to understand that the voices of the American People, whom you represent are no longer worthy of your consideration with the future of our nation? Question Number Six…Mr. President, North Korea and Iran have been a growing threat to areas of the world, and possibly even to us with their desire to build up their military arsenal to include nuclear capabilities with predetermined goals for them. At what point will you determine that the situation should be taken seriously? Question Number Seven…Mr. President, although you, and many of your followers dismiss it as a conspiracy theory, there is a major concern of your actual birthplace, and your eligibility to actually serve in your current office. Why do you not just put this behind you, as opposed to having legal representation to ensure that your birth and education records remain a secret? Question Number Eight…Mr. President, Any economist in the world will tell you that spending will in fact provide relief from a recessed economy, but only if it is the people spending as opposed to government spending. Why would you even consider raising the taxes on anyone within our country in the middle of a recession? Question Number Nine…Mr. President, since you have moved into the oval office, you have seen the need to aid various areas within our economy with the economic stimulus plan, the automobile bailout, the banking industry bailout, and the cash for clunkers plan. (1) Can you honestly tell me that with all of these plans and bailouts that more control was not given to the government by regulating the private sector of our economy? (2) Can you tell me even a single positive attribute to come from any of these plans, programs, and bailouts? Question Number Ten…Mr. President, you stated even before you were elected that one of your goals as president was to bring transparency to Washington. Having said that, why is it that the American people are totally clueless as to your intended direction for our nation with much of what you have done in your first two years? We have been told nothing, nor have our voices been a consideration in the role related to your chosen direction. The answers to the above questions would allow us to have an understanding of not only the president, himself, but of the state of the nation…vic damico 01-01-2011

Proceed With Caution The concept of presenting the issues before us, both good and bad is a necessary part of obtaining knowledge. Having said that, we need to have the understanding that we should not merely accept all we see and hear as being representative of the truth, or to assume all associated with it is factual. I have become quite concerned with those who seem to only see evil in this world and that is the only thing worthy of their time. We all understand that as a people, and as a nation, and even throughout the world, we are facing issues that are representative on nothing short of evil, but we cannot let evil consume us. There is much good to be seen every single day, and I refuse to not only see it, but to make sure that this good does not go unnoticed. It is in no one’s best interest to focus on what is negative to the point that we are blinded from seeing the positive. I will not spend my life looking for the evil we already know to exist, and to cause others to lose sight and focus of the good in the world. My faith teaches me to focus on the good, and to distance myself from that which interferes or goes against my faith. Do I know the evil is there? Of course, I do. Will it help me in my choice of direction to follow my faith? Absolutely not, with the exception of showing me what I do not want in my chosen path. I try to use my knowledge, wisdom, and faith to help others avoid mistakes I have made, or to help guide others based on what I have already experienced in life. I just refuse to dwell on the negative and the evil of the world to the point that I am no longer able to share the good that surely exists at the same time. The purpose of this write is to warn you to be careful, and not just allow yourself to believe everything you may see in print. There are those who can easily steer you in their direction, whether it is right or wrong if you allow them to do so. If you believe all of the conspiracy theories written about every single day, it gives you the impression that there cannot be but a dozen or so in this world who are not involved, somehow in these conspiracies. Do not allow yourself to be consumed by all of the evil that is around us. There is far too much good left in this world to not have that as your focus as we move forward with our individual chosen directions. In my personal blogs here, and on My Space, I have spoken of a world bank, a world religion, the elimination of the U.S. dollar, and other components that will lead to the New World Order. I have spoken in favor of and against certain countries and social groups. I have spoken in favor of and against certain issues within our society. But with these blogs, I speak of facts, not theories, or based on the words of others. It is rare that I use words of others, but if I choose to do so, I make notice that the words are not my own. It is not related to my personal agenda or my association with a specific political party. I produce my own words. If you read the words of others, you should see it from them, not my blogs. I do this for a simple reason. If you disagree with me, since they are my words, you simply disagree only with me, and do not connect it to the rest of the world and make judgment on anyone other than me. With my writings, I do not, nor do I feel it is my right to force my thoughts or ideas upon others. I present my words as my understanding and my opinions, and hope that whoever may read my words will use them to reach their own conclusions. When we make a conscious effort to lead or influence others, we need to be sure that we are not leading them in the wrong direction as we do it. We need to make sure we do not have a hidden agenda that may mislead those who hear or read our words. We need to make sure we are not dwelling on the evil of the world to the point that we remove the goodness in the process. We need to be aware of that which exists within the world that works against us in order to have an understanding of what to avoid that allows us to focus on what is connected with our true destination in life, but not to the point whereas we lose our true focus on the good. The national or world media outlets can easily influence us, as can those within our government who say they represent the people, or even a simple blog may guide us in a desired direction. Be careful and be guided by your own mind, your heart, and your faith. Watch, listen, see, and live with caution. Things are not always as they appear. Vic Damico 12-29-2010

What Have We Done To America? We have people who are fighting against the inclusion of morals based on religion being incorporated into our governing process because we are afraid of hurting the feelings of those who are opposed to religion, in general. We just reversed the “don’t ask, don’t tell†policy because the gay population within our military sees the need to express themselves and be allowed to make known their sexual preference as being somehow connected to fighting for our country. We have those who are suggesting that in the middle of a recession that it is wrong to be allowed to keep more of the money we have actually earned, and to place the burden of taxation mainly on those who are responsible and not adding to economic problems by being a drain on the economy itself. We have those who are in favor of securing our southern border at all cost to prevent any entry by means outside of existing valid laws, and these same people are being referred to as uncaring and racist for going against the Hispanic Americans. We have a national budget that is full of waste and even projects that are merely gifts to politicians in return for votes on certain issues and bills. We are extending the unemployment benefits to those who do not see the need to go to work and take care of their families, and as a result will allow them to continue to remain unemployed. We have somehow ignored the fact that our government has determined that the best way to keep Social Security Benefits from running out is to keep raising the retirement age so that they will never really be distributed to many who will die before they get the chance to dip into the funds. Although there are ongoing concerns since taking office, about information concerning President Obama and his birth information and his education records, he has not seen the need to simply dissolve the concerns by coming forth with the documents that would end the concerns, but instead has chosen to hire attorneys to keep the information hidden from the very people who put him into office. The very people who view this as a conspiracy theory are also opposed to the release of these records, and claim that it is simply unnecessary. There is a clear division between the two primary political parties that is kept strong intentionally by our government, which is nothing more than a distraction while they simply do as they please in Washington. When we have representation in Washington that obviously goes against the majority of the people, as they did with the passing of the health care bill, they have made it clear that their personal and political agendas take top priority over the very will and representation of the people and the nation as a whole. The health care bill is a clear violation of the United States Constitution, as it requires citizens to purchase a product, and then includes fines and even prison time to those who do not purchase or maintain health care insurance. I have read the bill, and it clearly identifies the fines and jail time connected to the lack of compliance. The following should concern everyone, especially since President Obama claims to be a constitutional lawyer…Once Obama signed the health care bill, he was in clear violation of his Oath of Office by putting a bill into existence that goes against the very document he swore to uphold. This cannot be disputed…It is a violation and he did take the Oath…It is just that simple. There are those within our government who have the notion that guns should not be in the hands of the individual citizens of this country, which is actually to say they do not believe in honoring the second amendment to the Constitution. We have those who are truly upset that we have not treated the prisoners at Guantanamo Bay, who are responsible for terrorist activity and the killing of thousands of people in a decent manner. There is an ongoing effort in play to not only regulate Internet activity, but to actually monitor the activity of the individuals using the service. The collection of taxes has been extended to everyday products such as cigarettes, which is basically taxing an addiction. The same is being considered for fast food, sodas, beer, wine, liquor, etc…President Obama, himself has made the statement that people should not watch the Fox News Network for the simple reason that they do not support his every word and action. No one, not even the president has the right to tell us who we should or should not be allowed to listen to for receiving information concerning the national news or even opinionated reports. And what is so sad is that we have those on both the right and the left who are willing to not only overlook these issues, but not even know them to exist as they continue to have unconditional devotion to their chosen political party. The reason our nation is in the condition it is today is because we have allowed this to continue with little resistance. WE WOULD STOP IT IN ITS TRACKS IF WE ALL CAME TOGETHER AND TOLD THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT THAT THEY WILL NO LONGER BE ALLOWED TO GO AGAINST OUR VOICES…WE NEED TO TAKE A STAND AS A UNITED PEOPLE AGAINST ALL THAT IS DESTROYING OUR NATION OR WE WILL SIMPLY WATCH AS WHAT WAS ONCE THE GREATEST NATION IN THE WORLD IS DISMANTLED AND IS REDUCED TO NOTHING. The illusion behind “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell Congress has made a move, and succeeded with all we face as a nation today, to reverse the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell†issue concerning the United States Military. Why is it that in battle, it is even considered as a necessary action to be able to announce that you are gay? First of all, I do not think that when you are facing the enemy, that there is a reason for anyone to know what your sexual preference may be. Who does it help, and what actual purpose does it serve? Being gay has nothing to do with your role in the military, nor does it represent a positive thought to anyone other than the ones who insist on making this issue known to others, for whatever reason they may have. Those within the military who are straight do not see the need to announce it, nor do they feel they should receive special recognition for their sexual preferences. Again, this has absolutely nothing to do with the military, and it should not be a part of it. No one should receive special rights based on their sexual preference, but that is exactly what this represents. There are two issues that I will speak of related to what has just happened with the reversal of the “Don’t ask, Don’t Tell†policy within the military. I will explain what it means, and what has actually been accomplished by the changing of this policy. (1) There are those within the military, men and women, who simply do not accept homosexuality in our society. Now whether you agree or disagree with this judgment, that does not make it any less true. Some of these people who are uncomfortable with knowing of the sexual preferences of their fellow members of battle have a lack of trust because of that discomfort. When you are in the battle mode, and experiencing actual combat, you do not need the presence of that lack of trust, or to possibly question the abilities of that individual because of that lack of trust…I do want to make something perfectly clear. That member of our military who happens to be gay may be as combat ready, and as trustworthy as anyone in the military based on his/her abilities. But that does not make that person who feels uncomfortable to be as efficient as he/she possibly could be. It is a distraction. It is an unnecessary part of the military, and it can serve as an issue that will cause someone to not perform to the best of their abilities because of that simple discomfort that exist that should not be forced upon them. It can actually have an effect on the outcome of a mission based on the injection of discomfort for the simple reason of looking for rights that do not exist in the first place. (2) Here is what I personally saw happen with the reversal of this policy. It was not an issue that was being pushed mainly by the gay population within the military. This was political, and those in Washington were the ones who were behind it, and for one reason. It was not a move to strengthen the military. It was not a move to give rights to the gay population within the military. Basically, what has just happened is that the Democrats have guaranteed the votes of the gay community for future elections, and that is all that was a concern to them from the beginning of this push to reverse the policy. My belief is that even though the gay community is led to have the understanding that they have been victorious with this policy change, they have sold themselves to the Democratic Party for the right to announce themselves as being gay. In this write, I am not placing judgment on anyone. It is not my intention, or right to judge others, and that is not what I have done here. There is nothing that I have written that can actually be disputed. As far as what I said about the new automatic devotion to the Democratic Party, that will be obvious with the next election. The gay community won nothing here; it was the Democratic Party who is celebrating an actual victory… Vic Damico 12-20-2010

Ten Things I Hate To See In A Comment On A Blog (1) To speak of a group, a race, or a political party as though they are all exactly the same and are unable to have a single independent thought... (2) To submit simply a video or a picture without a single word from the one who sent the comment...That contributes nothing on the part of the person who sent the comment, but only to the one responsible for the video or the picture... (3) Rather than to contribute to the blog, to be critical of the spelling or grammer of someone else...This clearly states that you have nothing to add... (4) To personally attack someone and show no disrespect to anyone, especially the writer of the blog... (5) To use crude, vulgar language...This to me says that the person not only has nothing to contribute, but cannot simply communicate without injecting worthless thoughts... (6) To leave a link to their own site as nothing more than an effort to promote themselves...This has nothing to do with the topic or the writer of the blog... (7) To post a picture that is not acceptable to anyone who may visit the blog...Those who visit should not be subjected to anything inappropriate by simply showing up to read the blog...It is disrespectful to the readers and to the writer of the blog... (8) To make a statement that misrepresents anyone and suggest that the false statement is an accurate assessment of that individual or group... (9) To just sling numbers and statements that everyone knows to be untrue to represent an argument against something someone may simply disagree with...These people do not realize just how are perceived by most, and probably do not even care...It is just an effort to insult someone, or to make it appear that they are wrong... (10) To actually produce a blog in order to attack someone they may not agree with as an effort to discredit that individual to anyone who may visit the blog...This is nothing short of evil... All I speak of here was common practice on My Space, but on this site, seems to be far less present...In order to continue a pleasant, clear medium of communication, lets try to keep it that way... vic damico 12-20-2010

Ok, enough is enough…It is time for a rant… I have been watching this debate without logic on the dismantling of the Bush Tax Cuts, and presenting it as nothing short of a circus as they try to convince each other that those who have succeeded in life are unworthy of the same representation as the rest of the nation…Our congress has forgotten why they are in office, and they represent those who depend on them as they focus on the milking of those who believed and achieved the American dream. In reality, we are all the same when it comes to starting from birth and growing based on how we handle the life that we will face. Many will never reach the American dream because they are simply unwilling to put forth the effort needed to reach that point. Those who are unwilling to be responsible for their own lives should not be rewarded by having everything provided for them, and those who are responsible and have succeeded should not be expected to pay their way. It is that simple. If your neighbor has two cars and you do not own a car, that neighbor is not responsible for you and should not be expected to give you one of his cars. That is exactly the same logic, and it is no different than what our government is telling you should be done. We are told that anyone who makes more than $250,000 should be expected to pay the way for those who refuse to take care of themselves. It is not worded exactly that way, but that is precisely what they are telling you. What is even worse is the fact that those who have made poor decisions in life now see it as a perfectly acceptable way to deal with the issue. It is not acceptable by any means. Taking the money that someone else has earned is no more acceptable than taking your neighbor’s car. In a sense, it is theft, but the government has created the illusion that it is the right thing to do. They have even been heard saying that for the wealthy to give more because they have more is the moral and patriotic thing to do. To that, I say, “BULLSHIT.†It is only the moral and patriotic thing to do if it is done by the individual based on his/her decision to do so, not by government mandate. Then we are considering in the same bill to extend the unemployment benefits to those who are still out of work. If you have a family and you are not either mentally or physically disabled, and you have not worked for 99 weeks, shame on you. Do you have such little respect for yourself, and do you not consider taking care of your family to be your responsibility? You should not continue to get the benefits for two years if you have no intention of working. Here is an idea that will help in some areas. If you get unemployment for being without a job, your job should be cleaning the streets, painting government buildings, etc…I do not want my tax dollars from my labor to pay for someone to sit at home rather than to work. If people do not think their families are worthy of going to work to support them, why the hell should the fruits of my labor provide the support? I have two jobs. Would you like one of those? I apologize if I sound mean –spirited or uncaring. Those of you who know me understand that this is not the case. I am a firm believer in individual responsibility, but it seems that our wonderful government does not support or even represent those who pull their own weight. They look at those who have worked to achieve success as a source of money and nothing more. It is time for people to get off of their collective asses and go to work and take care of themselves and their families. It is your responsibility, not mine, not those who have understood, believed, and achieved the American dream. Their goal was to support themselves and their families, not yours. Maybe We Need Another Great Depression I have been thinking quite extensively over the last few months, and I am horrified by what I see. The government does not scare me as much as the people. If we chose to do so, we could render the federal government helpless, with the exception of what we wish of them based on the United States Constitution. That will not happen because of the people. The American people collectively are far too weak to take that kind of stand; they are just too concerned about the survival of their chosen political party to worry about things so trivial as the good of the nation. And that weakness of the people is what has allowed the government to take control of not only the nation, but in many ways, our very lives. I do not wish suffering on anyone; never have, never will…I do think the problem with the American society is that we do not learn from our mistakes, as a nation, or even as individuals. Please read the following with the understanding that is has nothing to do with choosing one political party over another. Today, that is the least of my worries. I do not care for either the Republican or the Democratic parties; my concern is for the people as a whole, and the direction we have not only taken, but the fact that we allow it, and never really understand what it is we are allowing. Maybe we need to go through what the poor souls went through in The Great Depression that started in 1929. No, I do not want people to starve, or to lose everything they may have, or feel the pain and suffering. What I do want to do is to use that period of time as a reference, in explaining the mentality of people today in this great country. I want to make something perfectly clear before people start yelling at their computer monitors. There are good, honest, hardworking people throughout this great country, and I am in no way trying to put everyone into the same category. And still, some of these good, honest, hardworking people will still fall into this category because of their mentality and behaviors. I am speaking from my heart, not from a political pulpit, so my words should not be twisted to have a meaning other than the one intended, which will be obvious. Brief understanding of the great depression: On October 29, 1929, which was known as Black Tuesday, the stock market crashed and that is all it took to set the great depression into play. Stock prices plummeted, and it was known by the end of the day that there was no hope of recovery. People, today do not understand panic. Masses tried to sell their stocks, but no one was buying. The next part of the economy to be hit was the banking industry, mainly because so many of them had their client’s money invested in the stock market that was now worthless. Many of the banks closed, and because of the rush of the masses to pull their money from the banks that remained, others were soon to close. Next, the businesses and industries were hit by the depression. Much of the operating capital was invested in the stock market, or in the banks, so many found themselves unemployed almost immediately. Consumer confidence was non-existent, so those that had money spent it only as absolutely necessary. The lack of spending hurt the businesses and industries even further, so it caused even more closures. Here is the main point of my write: It should be obvious to all with the above words on The Great Depression what it is to actually suffer, as a people, and as a nation. I am literally embarrassed for the American people, today. If you can look back to that one Tuesday in 1929 and complain about having difficult times, maybe you need to look at your life a little closer. I wish everyone could go back and live one day in that eleven-year period of the depression, and see how much we actually have to be thankful for on a daily basis. There is a vast difference between suffering and going through less than perfect times. Our society, as a whole is not standing in lines hoping to get something to eat. We have people today complaining that the air conditioning or heating system is not working in their $450,000 home. We have people complaining about running over a nail and getting a flat tire on a new car they bought last week. We have people who working every day and complaining about how much they hate their job. We have people complaining about the cost of health care because it makes them to have to dig into their savings accounts. We have people complaining about the cost of educating their children because they must now disturb their next egg they have set aside for later in life. This is not suffering, yet these people and even those who have much less should stop the complaining and look at what they have before them. This is not 1929, people, and we are not rioting in the streets, looting businesses, or robbing banks to feed our children. The American society has developed into a mass of lazy, unthankful, immoral group of people that seem to have evolved into sheep that no longer have the survival mentality that the country was built upon so long ago. Then we have the federal government, who is not only allowing this “POOR ME†mentality, but actually encourage it, as their actions so obviously make it clear to anyone who may be awake enough to see. We are not allowed to suffer, at least that is what the government is telling us. Even in failure, they are there promising to make all just right, even though they are allowing, and desiring that the individual responsibility of each of us to disappear to allow them to gain even more control of our lives. I say to all who read this message that I am trying to send…Tonight, if you have a roof over your head, you had dinner, and you are healthy, maybe instead of complaining about how bad your life is, maybe you should think of what happened on October 29, 1929, and realize things could be a lot worse than they are. We, as individuals need to get our acts together, and realize that we, not the government are responsible for our lives. If you are unwilling to fight to do what is best for your family, then why should it fall of someone else? We do have much to be thankful for, and if we do not wake up soon, that will simply no longer be the case. I have said absolutely nothing that I do not apply to my life every single day, and I am thankful for each of those days as they come…vic damico

TAXING THE WEALTHY…WHAT A CONCEPT Many arguments have been heard, especially lately with the Bush tax cuts scheduled to expire at the end of the year. It looks like now, they will be allowed to remain as they are, and they should in my opinion. The truth is, and everyone knows it, that the expiration of the tax cuts for the wealthy would allow more revenue to make its way to Washington who would have it spent before it even got there. Here is my problem with this “ROBINHOOD MENTALITY.†Those who are wealthy are not in any way responsible for those who are less fortunate. Those who are wealthy are not responsible for the state of the economy, nor should they be expected to have their money taken by force to correct the economy. The government does not get to pick and choose which portion of the American society gets represented, or which portion of America is responsible for the remaining portion of society. The truth is that the wealthy are simply not responsible for the survival of anyone other than themselves. The wealthy are not responsible for the economic growth in America. It is none of your damned business how much money they have, nor should you expect any of it for yourselves. You do not allow others to take food from your children and give it to others, so you should not expect others to be forced to give what is theirs to you, unless they decide themselves that they wish to do so. This to me represents a selfish, uncaring mentality of many who somehow have reached the conclusion that a specific sector of the American society can be targeted to finance the lives of others. The government does not get to decide who has too much money, nor should they be allowed to take that money for that reason. In June, 2008, I lost my job of nine years because of economic reasons. I did not get one penny of assistance from the government, nor did I feel I should, not as long as I am mentally and physically able to be employed and support myself by my own means. I simply found another job, even though my income was suddenly half of what it was with my previous job. It is up to me to provide for myself, and it never entered my mind that others should do for me what I obviously can do for myself. It is called individual responsibility, and it is becoming more and more rare every single day. There are people who have been out of work for two years, and have been receiving aid from federal tax dollars to survive at their normal level of living. If you have a wife and three children, and you have not worked in two years, there is a problem that goes much deeper than unemployment. If you did not work a single day in the two- year period, you did not want to work, or you refused to find a job that was not related to your education or your training, or you were unwilling to settle for less income than you had made previously. If I had a wife and three children, and I lost my job, I would work at McDonalds in the morning, Burger King in the afternoon, and at Denny’s at night if that is what it took to support my family. It does not, nor should it depend on those who are wealthy simply because I fall onto difficult times. There are people within our society, who are either mentally or physically unable to work, and they need assistance, and they should get it with no questions asked. But to expect the efforts of others to pay your way because you are unwilling to suffer personal difficult times is simply a lack of individual responsibility, and you should not be rewarded for your poor decisions and lack of understanding of your personal responsibilities. The lack of individual responsibility is playing a major role in the slow recovery from the hurting economic times we are experiencing. I personally know of individuals who are receiving unemployment benefits, while they are working, and receiving income under the table to avoid a paper trail that would interrupt their benefits. That is not suffering, or trying to be honorable in trying to support their families. That is theft…That is an abusive manipulation of the system that is in place to help those who do need the help. So, in closing, I say the following. The government wants to take from the rich to support those who are less fortunate. That is not helping the economy, nor is it helping the individual in reality. It is allowing for an easy way out, while those who reap the benefits are put into the holds of the government, whose goals are for nothing other than to control us in the first place. Nothing I am saying should be viewed as being uncaring or mean-spirited. You don’t know me. You do not know what I give of myself, and that too, is none of your business. But I do not take from others to provide for myself for the simple reason that it is not the place of the other sections of our society to take care of me. It is just that simple…vic damico
