I feel like i'm getting ready to rent my first flat.. maybe a basement apartment on the East Coast. Opening the door.. Seeing the pedestrians walking outside my window.. That nervous anticipation of soloing.. taking the petal to the metal and moving the stick back as I ease off the clutch and feel the plane buck and shake underneath me.. right before she starts moving down to taxi on the tarmac.. then jamming the throttle open and racing headlong down the runway at full speed and pulling back on the stick at just the right moment and feeling the air flowing around me and through me.. Diving headlong into the clouds.. into life.
Ever felt like that? Out on your own for the first time, ready to make the jump to a new place.. A new adventure.. new experiences.. That's what I feel like here. I know more than a few of you and yet I don't know but a few of you..I've lived at my old home at Myspace for the last 5-1/2 years. Made a lot of friends there, grew as a writer there.. Experienced all of the verities of reality, of my existence there.. and made relationships that have stood the test of time.
Sadly the home is being remodeled, new paint, new roof. The contractors are arguing and bickering about money and the cost of success and fame and arguing how to make it "the place to go" on the Internet.. I'm not wired that way. Never have been. I always thought that place was like the lyric out of Springsteens "Thunder Road".. She ain't a beauty but hey she's alright.."
So I hopped on the subway and came over here and so far so good. A few coats of paint around the blog, a few graphics, some nice touches a few pictures, music.. and its home 
Now about me.. I'm 45 years old and in a wonderful relationship with my Co-Host at Harmony Pub "Maryann". We met on MySpace about 3 years ago and she is my best friend, life partner and the love of my life.
I'm divorced, have three kids ages 26, 15 & 13 and I also have two "grandchildren" ages 6 and 1-1/2. That's right I have to ask every woman i've ever dated... "Do you want to be a grandma?" 
I've been a writer for about 15 years on and off. I got back into active writing when I found MySpace oh so many years ago. Actually the "truth is" my daughter found myspace, created an account for her "Dad" and taught him how to be cool 
I like to write Poetry, short stories and I love music. I play guitar and currently own 6 of them right now. Everything from my "Martin" acoustic to a Fender Telecaster.
I'm still learning but I love to play. I also love to write songs as well and am slowly working on my first album.
As far as what I like to read for poetry: Kahlil Gibran, T.S. Elliot, Jim Morrison, Robert Frost, Walt Whitman, Charles Baudelaire, Paul Verlaine, Arthur Rimbaud.. I know there is more but i'm drawing a blank right now.
As far as favorite authors.. I love a writer that can spark my creative mind. That can take me there immediately. Richard Bach comes up immediately.. (Johnathan Livingston Seagull). I've been reading Nicholas Sparks (The Notebook) lately, as well as Mitch Albom (Tuesdays with Morrie and The Five People You Meet In Heaven).
I study Tibetan Buddhism and tend to view my perception of the world around me very spiritually.
As far as music goes.. God where do I start. I love a musician that is a story teller.
James Taylor, Paul Simon , Simon and Garfunkel, Harry Chapin, LIVE, Jerry Reed, Micheal McDermott.
What brings me here? I am just a seasoned traveler walking the pathways of happy destiny seeking like minded spirits looking for companionship, a quick ear or eye, fast to smile and with a very gentle soul..
