I have been busy with Thanksgiving, then had the mumps, followed by Christmas so am behind in everything. I am trying to catch up. But I had this stuck in my head when I could not sleep last night (caffeine overindulgence). Maybe an Emily Dickinson type moment for me - hope you enjoy though it is rather odd
I Saw Death Upon A Grassy Knoll
Many times I have seen Death Lingering upon the grassy knoll Basking in the morning sun While out for a gentle stroll
He is such a curious sight When he sits amongst the buttercups Making crowns and daisy chains From the pink and white tulips
There have been several times I have seen him lay upon the grassy hill And idly watch the clouds pass by While listening to the robin's trill
He has set the seeds to wind Of many a dandilion flower And I wonder what the wish could be From one of such perdurable power
Maybe he wishes for fortune Or to have life yet once again Though maybe he is just lonley And wishes for a faithful friend
Perhaps one day I will join him Upon that grassy knoll Although it will not be today I Saw Death Upon A Grassy Knoll

Maybe he wishes for fortune Or to have life yet once again Though maybe he is just lonley And wishes for a faithful friend
Perhaps one day I will join him Upon that grassy knoll Although it will not be today Lest his wish was for a mortal's soul

Unfettered
Alone, drowning in a sea of humanity Hands bound and twisted behind me Never allowed to be free
Walking velvet halls of subtlety Dare make no sound lest they discover me Searching for the door of my reality
Yet the walls of mirrors do deceive Scattered images taunt and confuse me Dazed and lost in fractured esprit
So close my eyes, let my heart lead Untie the tethers that bind me Walking the path unerringly
The silence so utterly deafening Walking with hands before me Searching for that which longs to be
Piercing the veils of obscurity Hearts errant sojourn of tranquility Encounters intent so persistently
Breaking bonds of subdued captivity Loosing restraints with a vibrant plea Finally allowed to become me

I Am Ready
Will there ever come a time Before those shadowed steps I climb Will death and I see eye to eye When I cross beyond this mortal rime I'll ride that pale horse beneath the sky Without a care or a questioned why As I embrace the promised afterlife With nothing more than a contented sigh There is wealth beyond this corporeal life That is free from all of poverties strife And if Thanatos would so dare consign I would ride forth into his aberrant fief
