About a month ago I happened across a site called Broadjam.com
Like MySpace Music you can set up a profile and post your songs. But, unlike MySpace, Broadjam is populated exclusively by songwriters, musicians, and music business professionals. All for free. They do have paid membership levels but you can do a lot for no cost at all.
But wait, there's more. They've set up a review process in which you can have your songs reviewed anonymously by your peers. Those songs with the highest ranking are put in a variety of Top 10 charts.
But wait... They also have ways to facilitate the delivery of your music to music business people looking for songs. Many of these are specific projects.
In the last three weeks I've had my songs reviewed 41 times (so far). Made it into two Top 10 charts. Exchanged emails with 14 fellow songwriters from all over the world. And made contact with 2, maybe 3, potential collaborators. I'm jazzed.
So, if you're a songwriter or musician I'd encourage you to check it out.
