Child of the Universe that I am, I loved the Lion King. My favorite movie of all time is "Ghost," with Whoopi Goldberg and Patrick Swayze. It combines powerful secular, mystical and spiritual themes and if you like love stories, well, it is all in there for you to enjoy a good cry! I would highly recommend "Ghost" to anyone who is looking for a real story line in a movie, instead of gratuitous sex and violence. Oddly enough, I also love the [dark] movie, "Donnie Brasco," which I would say is quite artistic and probably would not recommend it to folks who do not like artsy kind of movie experiences, since the story line is emotionally and socially heavy. I like it because art is life and life is art. Am fairly picky about movies, and not the least bit impressed by most of whatever comes out of Hollywood, which means that there are not too many movies that captivate my interest. I tend to shun the trendy up-and-coming Hollywood drivel in favor of movies with themes that cause me to really think. I also loved the movie "Waiting to Exhale" with Angela Bassett and some other actors and actresses whose names escape me right now. It is a movie that I enjoyed because of the theme of girlfriends who confide in each other about things great and small. Friendship is something to treasure, is how I view it.
