triple flyby
Posted On 03/25/2008 11:00:23

Space Weather News for March 24, 2008
http://spaceweather.com

TRIPLE FLYBY ALERT: Space shuttle Endeavour has undocked from the
International Space Station and the two spaceships are now orbiting Earth in
tandem.  This sets the stage for a series of rare *triple* flybys,
which many sky watchers will be able to observe on Tuesday, March 25th.
It's a triple because three spacecraft are involved.  First to appear is
the European Space Agency's Jules Verne cargo carrier flying 2000
kilometers ahead of the ISS-Endeavour combo.  Jules Verne is about as
bright as a 1st magnitude star.  Four minutes later, and even brighter, the
space shuttle and space station follow Jules Verne across the starry
sky--a spectacular sight!

US and Canadian readers can find out when to look using our new Simple
Satellite Flybys tool:
http://spaceweather.com/flybys.  (Note: We
haven't forgotten about the rest of the world.  Work is underway to expand
our simple flyby predictions beyond North America to all parts of the
globe. Stay tuned.)

SOLAR ACTIVITY:  Who says the sun is quiet? Two new sunspots are
growing rapidly near the sun's equator. Just yesterday they were almost
invisible; now the active regions are several times larger than Earth and
are putting on a good show for anyone with a backyard solar telescope.

Jeane's Statement
Posted On 02/27/2008 09:53:35
Jeane's Celebration of Life was Sat. Feb 23rd. This is what she had for the pamplets handed out.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intentions of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming
" WOW ! What A Ride "
author unknown

And, that was Jeane !

computer problems
Posted On 02/16/2008 08:33:56
Ever since I have joined this site I have been having computer problems, especially with profiles pages with music, or a group that has music play as soon as I enter group. My computer freezes up, so have to reboot etc etc. Combine that with a job with crazy hours ....... about to pull my hair out !

So obviously, I haven't been able to post as I would like to do so, or respond to comments etc as I would like to.

I will have to wait until a day off to work with my other computer and catch up with everyone. Thank you to everyone who has contacted me in some way ! Thanks for all the adds ! I will get in touch with each of you as soon as I can.

Blessings .........

On Wednesday evening, February 20th, the full Moon over the Americas will turn a delightful shade of red and possibly turquoise, too. It's a total lunar eclipseâ€"the last one until Dec. 2010.

Ice Storm

Steve gathering wood from our dwindling piles - they used to be 4ft tall by 6ft length. Will have to bring more wood up from the back 40.

What is spiritual about this for me ? We spend 5 minutes bundling up to go outside - he to gather firewood and me to feed critters - domestic and wild. We can see our breathe. We have to be careful of each step we take, there is an inch of ice under that thin layer of snow.

It is beautiful outside, crisp fresh air. I feel alive, one with Mother Earth, marveling at her beauty, this latest mood of hers and what she has unleashed.

Then back inside, peel off the layers, grab a hot cup of cocojoe, snuggle by the fireplace. Grateful I have the day off and can stay home with my sweetie.
