Hello
No sure how much I can contribute to this.I am new to crocheting.I used to do it when I was younger and have been away from it for quite some time.I picked it up again last year, only knowing one stitch,to make a blanket for my first grandchild. To my surprise it didn't fall apart...lol...I am making another blanket for myself using that same stitch. My youngest daughter wants to learn so we are going to join a class at one of the craft stores and learn together. The one stitch I know is the granny square stitch.Any pointers you can give will be much appreciated.I will pass any knowledge I recieve to the group.
Thanks much!!~Denise~

crochet
I have crocheted for as long as I can remember, thank you Mom for passing on such a wonderful gift, I never told her that, nor did she get the opportunity to see what I was capable of...
I have crocheted many items with thread, I found yarn was to bulky , and I loved the antiquity and delicacy of thread work.
I have made collars with beads , purses, bags, wash cloths and odds and ends alot of unfinished projects for one reason or another...mostly I am sure to lack of confidence.
This year I chose to make each of my children a throw...or afghan if you will, I had bought some yarn on sale about 10 or 11 years ago while living in Wyoming...Lionbrand I believe in the one pound skiens, I never did anything with it as the colors were dark and I couldn't find anything I felt was a good pattern.
Somewhere in all of this I bought a q hook...again never a pattern to use this with, I started searching the internet during December and found a cpl of great patterns for throws. so I began crocheting like a fiend. in less than 2 weeks I made 6 throws, WOW.
I have used all but 4 skiens...as that is not enough for the throw...but i found another pattern, yoyo's I have made these with material. so after all these years buying all that yarn finally paid off. and I feel good about my gifts to my children.
I have honestly made some beautiful things with the knowledge I have. I am sorry I just never realized it till now.
