Favorite Museums
The museum I grew up visiting and still love the most is the Detroit Institute of Arts. But they are still renovating it and will not be done until 2007 in the fall!

This past March my school art department visited the Art Institute of Chicago and it was just overwhelming! We only got to spend three hours there and now I want to go back! We spent most of our time looking at the Renaissance, Impressionists and some Contemporary rooms, mostly Picasso and Mondrian. It would be easy to spend days there at a time! We also went to the Chicago Museum of Modern Art and that was also interesting but it was easy enough to see everything in an hour or so. Still, they had a very good exhibit about Andy Warhol. The Flint Art Institute had a similar exhibit for their grand re-opening but it was not as extensive! This one had some Elizabeth Taylor prints and also Troy Donahue! Very iconic indeed! I also liked the Alexander Calder mobiles, he is another favorite artist of mine.

It was a very sunny day in Chicago, and the Grand Staircase at the Art Institute brought the outside in!
