The Empty Boat

For every moment you are angry, you lose 60 seconds of happiness. - Anon.

The Parable of the Empty Boat.

A monk decides to meditate alone, away from his monastery. He takes his boat out to the middle of the lake, moors it there, closes his eyes, and begins his meditation. After a few hours of undisturbed silence, he suddenly feels the bump of another boat colliding with his own. With his eyes still closed, he senses anger bubbling up. By the time he opens his eyes, he is ready to scream at the boatman who dared disturb his meditation. But when looks, he sees that the boat is empty! It had probably got untethered and floated to the middle of the lake. At that moment, the monk achieves Self-Realization, and understands that the anger he so righteously feels, is within him. It merely needs the bump of an external object to provoke it out of him. From then on, whenever he comes across someone who irritates him or provokes him to anger, he reminds himself, “This person is merely an empty boat. It's not what's making me angry - the anger is already within me. If I didn't have anger, it wouldn't come out". And then chooses how to respond instead. Not reacting angrily doesn't mean you don't care about something, sometimes it means you care enough about yourself to walk away. This isn't to say you should never get angry - anger is a part of the human experience and tells you what's important to you. What I'm saying is, use your anger in positive ways. Channel it in ways that you can both, express it safely and let it fuel your power and determination to create a life and experiences that move you forward. And remember what a wise person once said - anger is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die. I think most of us have to work on this...

GOOD EVENING
 Somebody asked me recently what do I think about the people out there who are seen as failures by their peers. (The definition of failure can be different from one person to another). I know that there are people who are being very patient while working on themselves, or an important project that hopefully will result in them achieving their dreams. They do this silently and diligently. They may appear to be failing but, they the are far from failing and diligently working towards their goal.    
 
Beware of judging others. Because  you never how things will turn out. I have seen this happen so many times. May I leave you with this,“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan “press on” has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race ” Calvin Coolidge.

Walking along this pathway through life, it is often filled with a variety of emotions and occasional challenges.

When moments of uncertainty, sadness, or disharmony appear, re-center within divine white light.

And ask the angels to help you focus on love.

For it is love that heals everything.

Love is powerful, yet is not always at the forefront of every person’s mind among difficult times.

Magnify the love within your mind to connect to the power of forgiveness.

And watch as forgiveness lightens the weight of your load as it heals.

Unconditional love is who you are at the core of your soul.

Allow the wisdom of your soul combined with the power of love to burst through the lower emotions.

And to infuse unpleasant emotions with love to transform them while healing and uplifting yourself.

You hold the key to open up the flow of love to heal any situation or sadness for every person involved.

Love is the solution found within your open heart.

Love is healing.

Love stretches across the lines of time.

Love is multidimensional Love is expansive.

Empower your life with love, and ripple love and light to others you encounter.

Love uplifts and heals one heart at a time, one day at a time, one step at a time.

It all begins by choosing to unlock the door of your heart with the key held within your mind.

You have the free will to make love the key that unlocks the door to a magnificent life.

Inspire others with the power of love.

Infuse all areas of your life with love.
