I've read a few thousand of these, mostly professional ones but managed to squeeze some fiction in there. A couple favorite authors are Toni Morrison and Alice Walker.
I like the writings of Matthew Fox, Joseph Campbell and Edgar Cayce or a good Agatha Christie-type mystery.

My first love is blues.
The second choice is jazz, some just for listening, some for movement. A few favorites are Cannon Ball Adderly, John Coltrane, Anita Baker and Art Blakely.
I was trained in classical piano and always dreamed of becoming a great pianist. I love the composers of the Romance period and listening to almost all types of classical music while reading or enjoying a relaxing Sunday afternoon.
There are still many of the old R&B songs that bring back memories and I like the energy in hip hop and reggae.

Music, art, nature and all things of beauty feed my soul. I collect Fenton,
Limoges and Lefton art glass and love going to flea markets searching for hidden treasures.
Meeting new people has always provided enrichment to my life so I spend a fair amount of
time on the computer. I also have a passion for finding out how the computer works and
love learning about it.
I like playing card and board games on the computer, also a great way to meet new people.
A friendly challenge makes life interesting.

A warm-blooded, cosmopolitan woman trapped in a small rural "forever winter" community,
I am destined to spend the rest
of my life enjoying the bunnies who live under my porch, the cats who live in my house
and the friends I meet in cyber space.

The lack of resources in this area does have
it's advantages. It gives me time to immerse myself in the changing seasons, the sunrises
and sunsets and all things great and small that nature provides.
Retirement has allowed me the time I used to
yearn for when working to spend time alone and
explore my mind and soul as well as work on developing my spiritualiality.
After many years of studying various spiritual and religious idealogies, I find myself
being most comfortable with a combination of Christianity, New Age, Native American,
Eastern philosophies and African beliefs.
I believe in miracles, things seen and unseen and things known and unknown.
It is no doubt that the miracles, angels and faries are here in the form of the eight
cats who live with me. What precious
creatures! Always willing to offer unconditional love, entertainment and free massages, they
ask for so little in return.
Spending time by water, wandering the woods and looking for birds and creatures or going to
my secret places to listen to the sounds of the silence, rejuvenates my spirit.
Art is a passion of mine. There is so much
beauty in the world. I am grateful to those wonderful artists who can put soul into their
work and share it with us.
Life is a circle, not the linear form most would have us believe. We come into the world
with the wisdom of our ancestors.
All we have to do is ask the questions to make the knowledge available on a conscious level.
The Universe is filled with wonderment.
So much of it is in the stars. The night is a magical time when the world seems to stand still.
It is a time to reconnect and get grounded.
The silence of the night is a special time
for reflection and creativity for me.
Gazing at the stars does a great deal to
help keep life in perspective and maintain humility. We are all just one small twinkle
in the Universe, yet each one unique and special.

While I try to understand how others have formed their views, I am judgemental and have little
tolerance for
injustice, inequality, racism, sexism and any ideas and practices that set us apart
from each other in this Universe.
