bitter or sweet
Hemlock to bring you
to your knees

the winter rain falls
and like a beautiful song
it calms
this wounded
soul

a feeling of
a thousand lifetimes lived
sharing wisdom from
a time so
long ago

there are days
when I'm fluttering
through life
just as innocent
as a child

sometimes sadness
turns as dark and deep as the ocean
it's easy to hide tears
walking through the drops
of rain

the cause
can be my greatest passion
if only to save one tree,
one creature, one man
a step into the light

a mother I nurture
wiping the tears from
a crying child's face
or hold her in my arms
just because

laying here with
my greatest love
sharing secrets
and laughter

I find solace here on
hallowed ground
a druid queen, hippie chick
looking in an a christian world

searching through
layers of me and memories
am I mother, poet... lover and wise
the child inside still holds tight
to the sorrows of times long past

alone I've walked the miles
through folds of grey and white
wrapped in blue sky
listening to the wind rustle the trees
taste the rain, wash over me

shyness sometimes keeps me
from grabbing the brass ring
a search for perfection
that wants everyone to
fall in line
~
at the best of times there are rainbows
I'm loving life and children and... things
the worst of times come
I can hate to live
and drag myself down into the black
~
not afraid to reach out, knowing
grabbing hold of those who will listen
are strength and words can reason
until the light burns my eyes
and I know it'll be just, alright
