What a day...woke up with no hot water. I had told David a few weeks ago it was prob getting ready to go out. Old one today taken out lasted 16 years. We leave for Michigan 2 weeks from Sunday. I guess the bedroom will never get finished. For now, it's turned into a junk room. We had over 5" of rain since yesterday.... a good soaker indeed. Might see more tomorrow. The high today was 68. Jellybean and Greymar didn't go back outside till just a few hours ago. Hope y'all have gotten much needed rest. Been thinking about you..

Today, I wanted to take my investigations a little further regarding beachgoers in summer...

First, I met Michael, the rooster, and his family...
 further on, his friend Berny was enjoying a banana... while Lise, his sister, sheltered by an umbrella from the harsh sun's rays, was walking along the water's edge, dressed in her Sunday best...

Gerald, the crab, proudly demonstrated his ability to use his sharp claws wisely by building a beautiful sandcastle.

Kiki, the hedgehog, and his companion were sipping a delicious cold drink, while their son was collecting shells...



Freddy the goat was lounging in his deck chair...

.discreetly watched over by Tom, the toad. , private detective....

You see, everyone is making the most of this beautiful summer weather as best they can...

I, too, plan to take a few days of vacation soon...but I haven't decided on the date yet...

Such a nice cool day as autumn is trying to come in the back door. These 70's degree temps are glorious. Thinking about pumpkin butter and apple butter jam along with pumpkin pie.
