UNCARING REALITY

Rightous beams of accusation enter
my darkened room as I huddle here,
always in pain, always hopeful,
frozen in time, waiting.

Tortured feelings loom, as fate dances in the air,
forming an image in my mind, penetrating my shamed soul.

A reflection on my face....

crying out for this uncaring reality.

My dread grows as the dagger of your words falls against my heart.
It severs me, and darkly my life's blood drips to the cold, uncaring tombstones.
In pain I call your name while death follows.
