Where the Peace Is At
My eyes were glazed but ever seeing,
scrambled thoughts, new found feelings.
A butterfly made it's home in my palm,
it smiled at me, I felt a wondrous calm.
Birds sang tunes so light and airy,
sprinkles knew my name,
whispered from their Mother Fairy.
Surreal but clear this place I'd gone,
where all was peaceful,
not one thing wrong.
Snow, like diamonds, fell at my feet,
hummingbirds fluttered about,
for my eyes a feast.
Beauty and love were plain to see,
the birds sang delightfully as if
to agree.
A blasting sound rang in my ears,
time to wake up and face life's fears.
I merely turned away and shed one tear.
I'll be back soon I screamed at the walls,
I'll return, you can bet on that,
next time I'll stay where the peace is at....
