MIRROR OF TIMES GONE BY

Lost...lovers, friends, a simple spark,

a sunny day,  a walk in the park.

Lost...trinkets, letters from years ago

looking back how could I know?

Lost...kisses sweet, pictures faded,

young love, feisty, lovers jaded.

Lost...beloved pets, I see no trace,

youth, time,  just a little space.

Lost...first love, a familiar kiss,

all of these things I surely miss.

                       BEAUTY IN THE EYES OF THE BEHOLDER

Beauty is everywhere...just look deep,

you'll see it in places you wouldn't believe.

Petals on a rose that never did bloom,

their musky beauty fils up the room.

A painting on a wall, old, faded and yellow,

the signature on it from a starry eyed fellow.

A broken down building, peeling paint on the wall,

a family once loved there when its structure stood tall.

Open your eyes to the world and ponder this thought,

beauty is not just a flowing gown you once bought.

It lives in things you don't really wish to see,

beauty is what your mind is in tune to believe.

I see the glow from a gleaming star,

I reach to hold you, your beauty afar.

I love to see your shining wonder,

I'd fly to you, I embrace the hunger.

                         TONIGHT WE DANCE

The moon is glistening full and bright,

My love and I will dance tonight.

Its mystical wonder so close it seems,

My love and I can dance and dream.

Moonbeams hit his starry eyes,

Full moon shining from the lighted skies.

The moon glows as we dance in love,

A beautiful gift from the Lord above.

                            THAT EXTRA MILE

Imagine if I was given one moment,
just a single slice of my past.
I could hold it close forever,
and that moment would always last.
I'd put the moment in a safe,
within my hearts abode.
I could open it when I wanted,
and only I would know the code.
I could choose a time of laughing,
a time of happiness and fun.
I could choose a time that tried me,
through everything I've done.
I sat and thought about what moment,
would always make me smile.
One that would always push me,
to walk that extra mile.

                                 MAGIC OF THE NIGHT

It's nighttime
Everything is so silent
Serene
Peaceful

The glistening of the stars
The sound of crickets
As I sit here in peace

No obnoxious noises
Or voices
No annoying sounds
Or people
Just me
The fresh air
The wind blowing
And the beautiful stars
Acting as my light
Leading the way
To my goals
To my hopes
And to my dreams
