You Might Be The One To Save A Life
Posted On 09/11/2013 06:14:42

Sept 11 photo Sept11_zpsa0162cda.jpg

Today being 11/9, everybody is talking about the unforgettable tragedy when thousands of innocent people died. I think I will talk about saving life, with the letting blood method first used in China since 1979, proven to be 100% effective. You will feel great if you could just save one life.

Keep a syringe or needle in your home. It's amazing, unconventional but effective way to help recover from a stroke. You will never know, someone's life may depend on you acting promptly.

When an stroke strikes, the capillaries in the brain will gradually burst. Stay calm. No matter where the victim is, do not move him/her. Because, if moved, the capillaries are likely to burst.

Help the victim to sit up where he/she is to prevent him/her from falling over again, and you can then begin the simple 'blood letting process. If you have at humear injection syringe that would be the best. If not, a sewing needle or a straight pin will do.

1. Place the needle/pin over fire to sterilize it and then use it to prick the of all 10 fingers.
2. There are no specific acupuncture points, just prick about an mm from the fingernail.
3. Prick till blood comes out.
4. If blood does not start to drip, then squeeze with your fingers.
5. When all 10 digits is bleeding, wait a few minutes then the victim will regain consciousness.
6. If the victim's mouth is crooked, pull on his ears until they turn red.
7. Then prick each earlobe twice till 2 drops of blood come from each earlobe. After a few minutes the victim should regain consciousness.

Wait till the victim regains his normal state without any abnormal symptoms then take him to the hospital. Otherwise, if he was taken in the ambulance in a hurry to the hospital, the bumpy trip might cause all the capillaries in his brain to burst.
Too often a stroke victim suffers irreparable bursting of the brain capillaries on the way to the hospital. Stroke is the 2nd cause of death.

Microhoo??

Sept 10 photo Sept10_zpsd3d64567.jpg

In 2009, Microsoft and Yahoo had finally come to an agreement, after seeming eternal on and off negotiations, to join forces launching their new searcher, for a period of 10 years. The media then had baptised them Microhoo! This is a bit premature and exaggerated, as these two giants have not joined companies, only that Yahoo would be using the Microsoft Bing and included the publicity, a considerable challenge for Google. At that time, Yahoo and Microsoft had, in the US, 28% of the searches, and Google 65%.

Yahoo wanted to concentrate more in developing in other areas with more valid and solid contents to offer to their 300 million visitors monthly. Some share-holders of Yahoo were surprised that Yahoo should "give away free milk instead of forcing Microsoft to buy the cow", referring to the founder of Yahoo, Jerry Yang's refusal to accept any less than 45,000 million to sell. But no doubt, the company would pocket a fair handsome percentage of the income derived from the publicity through the alliance.

I couldn't be any dumber in matters of business and finance, but judging by the Yahoo share drastically down after the news, I reckoned Microsoft had the better share of the cake gaining visibility in the search market and diminishing Google somewhat. Ten years is eternity in Internet. The mystery was how things were going to evolve and it might not be totally improbable the the inventor of Microhoo had some foresight after all.

I paid little attention to the outcome but, just once in a while, I can't help wondering, in business, when success or failure depends on who reaps more benefit ... well is that Micro or Hoo?

Blink Twice If You Love Me
Posted On 09/09/2013 02:57:22

Sept 09A photo Sept09A_zps1113f451.jpg

I have always liked fireflies, or glow-worms as some people would call them. I never knew before until fairly recently that there are many varieties of them, but all with the same characteristic that they glow at night. Maybe they glow too during the day, it's just that they are not noticeable in broad daylight. As a child I used to try to catch some, put them in a clear glass jar, to test whether I could read a book purely by the light they gave. I could! I now know that it's cruel, but children tend to be selfish until they learn to have a conscience.

After leaving the suburb and becoming very much a city girl soon after, I didn't get to see any fireflies any more. I still like them but, frankly, apart from very intrigued by them as a very young child, I seldom gave them a second thought. Therefore it's once again quite intriguing for me to read about their love life.

They apparently communicate a lot with one another and can distinguish the different species. Those flying about showing off their brilliant lights were all males, while the females stay down nearer ground amongst shrubs and vegetation observing, and selecting the ones they like better for a mate. They will blink twice and repeat it to the lucky chosen. How on earth they can signal or respond to the right one amongst hundreds is quite a mystery!

Sara Lewis knows all about them having dedicated 16 years observing and investigating. She is an ecologist in the University of tufts in Massachusetts, leads a team of investigators of these insects' habits, and especially their communicative system, and how their brilliance is very much the most important feature that greatly influence their love life, or lack or it, and a determining factor of their reproduction, or not.

So when the male fly around and hovered over the females, blinking like mad their 'headlights', the latter, attracted by a certain male (again, how she could is mind boggling as there are usually hundreds of them and they all look alike, to me at least, but obviously not to the 'firefly ladies'), she will blink (her light) twice, a clear 'Come-hither' signal to the male. And they usually choose their own kind. Once established their relationship, they stay monogamy. Cute huh? I can't tell you much more about them yet; have to read the rest of the very long report first.

Obsession - An Erotic Tale
Posted On 09/08/2013 07:30:04

Sept 08B photo Sept08B_zps94ea7d53.jpg

Gloria Vanderbilt is the author of the book, 'Obsessions, an erotic tale'. It's one of the few books that came onto the shelf amongst other erotic novels, accompanied by the recommendation of Joyce Carol Oates, who considered it 'extraordinary tapestry of human passion; an interior world with great dose of erotism, suggestive and provocative.'

Vanderbilt is 85 years old. She has obviously not forgotten anything. The story starts off somewhat conventionally about a widow, Priscilla, who discovered some letters amongst her husbands belongings; the contents revealed in great details the secret sex life of her dead husband. These letters were written by Bee, a mysterious woman that could be the imagination of Priscilla or, possibly, Priscilla was the product of imagination of Bee. The reader is led to wonder what's real or imagination, what's fact or fantasy. In any case, the juicy erotic details are vivid and real enough to make the most promiscuous blush.

Vanderbilt was recently interviewed on television in Manhattan where her home is. She said she was permanently in love, the secret of her longevity, energy and erotic streak. Having been married 4 times and many lovers besides, including Howard Hughes, Gene Kelly, Marlon Brando and Frank Sinatra, this lady must know plenty of bedroom tricks. She insisted that her book is erotic but definitely not pornographic. Of that I think it depends on each reader's own frame of mind, in the beginning of the book, not at the end.

Low Fat Diet Adds Exactly 10 Years Of Life

An elderly couple were killed in an accident and found themselves being given a tour of heaven by Saint Peter.

"Here is your ocean-side condo, over there are the tennis courts, swimming pool, and two golf courses. If you need any refreshments, just stop by any of the many bars located throughout the area."

"Heck, Gloria," the old man hissed when Saint Peter walked off, "we could have been here ten years ago if you hadn't insisted on all that stupid oat bran, wheat germ, and low-fat diets!"

Have You Ever Done That?

A man in his new BMW was out on the interstate for a nice evening drive. The top was down, the breeze was blowing through what was left of his hair and he decided to open her up. As the needle jumped up to 80 mph, he suddenly saw flashing red and blue lights behind him.
"There's no way they can catch a BMW," he thought to himself and stepped down further on the gas.

The needle hit 90, 100.... Then the reality of the situation hit him. "What the hell am I doing?" he thought and pulled over. The cop came up to him, took his license without a word and examined him and the car.

"It's been a long day, this is the end of my shift and it's Friday the 13th. I don't feel like more paperwork, so if you can give me an excuse for your driving that I haven't heard before, you can go."

The guy thinks for a second and says:
"Last week my wife ran off with a cop. I was afraid you were trying to give her back."
"Have a nice weekend," said the officer with a chuckle.

The Moonwalk, Backwards
Posted On 09/07/2013 08:54:37

Sept 07 photo Sept07A_zps1d89e88a.jpg

I came across this old Blog posted in 2009, had since then forgot all about it. A friend of mine imitating Michael Jackson's Moonwalk today had reminded me of the marathon moonwalk, backwards, by a group of MJ's fans to honour him one month after his death.

Some 200 men had congregated at the Monument of Colon of Barcelona on Sunday, to have their annual walk race, backwards, from the most centric and confluent Rambla, to reach the Plaza Catalunya, at the rhythm of the Moonwalk popularised by Michael Jackson. The participants this year wanted to pay homage to the King of Pop at a month since his death.

The information given out by the local police says that, of the 200 participants taking part, all wearing something identifying them as their idol, the single white glove for instance, only 50 had completed the backward walk to arrive at the Plaza Catalunya. Many reckoned that walking backwards for a fair distance was not as easy as they thought, trying to do it with Moonwalk steps and other imitations made it doubly difficult. But the message rendered was clear; they all wished to remember and honour the King.
