Angel in your pocket
I am a tiny angel ...
I'm smaller than your thumb;
I live in people pockets,
That's where I have my fun.
I don't suppose you've seen me,
I'm too tiny to detect;
Though I'm with you all the time,
I doubt we've ever met.
Before I was an Angel ...
I was a fairy in a flower;
God, Himself, hand-picked me,
And gave me Angel power.
Now God has many Angels
That He trains in Angel pools;
We become His eyes, and ears, and hands ...
We become His special tools.
And because God is so busy,
With way too much to do;
He said that my assignment
Was to keep close watch on you.
Then He tucked me in your pocket,
Blessing you with Angel care;
Saying I must never leave you,
And I vowed to stay right there!
"God's Speed, My Angel"
Among the many blessings,
That God has sent my way ...
Was a tiny pocket Angel,
That fluttered in one day.
God placed her in a pocket,
She seemed quite happy there;
She did her job of guarding,
And providing Angel care.
I loved that tiny Angel,
But soon word reached my ears ...
She had been seen in Switzerland,
And China and Algiers.
I wondered if she'd flown away,
So I took another look ...
And there she was, where she belonged,
Right in her pocket nook.
How could it be that she was seen
In a strange and foreign land ...
Yet still be in her pocket home?
I did not understand.
My guess is God made more than one,
He might have made a pair;
When a pocket picker picked up one,
He left the other there.
Blessings on you, pocket picker ...
Whoever you may be;
You badly need an Angel,
Maybe ... two or three!
And God's Speed to you, my Angel,
No matter where you are;
I'm glad God made you shareable,
With all souls ... near and far!
I am your special angel,
I am your special angel,
On orders from above,
To see that as a child of God,
You receive some special love.
God sent me down to find you,
I knew exactly where to look ...
For your name is written down,
In God's big address book.
He said I'd recognize you,
From your tiny turned-up nose;
You'd also have two shell-like ears,
Complete with two ear lobes.
He gave me then a choice,
Of your left ear or your right;
Said I could stay in either one,
So I'd be with you day and night.
So, if your ear begins to tickle,
From the flutter of my wings,
Remember I'm an angel,
And angels do those things.
Now, if you get to feeling sad,
Or maybe kind of scared,
Just tug upon your earlobe,
I promise to be there.
I'll come straight to your rescue,
Because that's my job to do,
God thinks you're very special,
That's why He sent me down to you!
Sweeping Heaven
When the angels sweep out heaven,
Bits of dust drop down below;
And as they fall upon us,
They become little flakes of snow.
So, if the snowfall's very light,
Though we know it comes from God,
The angels must be doing then,
A spit and polish job.
But if the snowfall's fast and furious,
And seems to be unending,
Then major cleaning's taking place,
And a blizzard is descending.
Thus, the kind of cleaning angels do,
Determines winter weather,
And softly floating snowflakes,
Means they're dusting with a feather.
But if the snow is thick and heavy,
And cold winds blow across the sound,
That spells heavy duty cleaning,
And they are moving clouds around.
As I grow old
Since I have grown older,
Things have changed a lot for me;
I have learned to make adjustments,
And do things differently.
For instance, now when I climb stairs,
I hold on to the rails;
I don't indulge in rich desserts,
And I do not drink cocktails.
I don't tote groceries in one bag,
Now, I ask for two;
I don't clean the whole house at one time,
A room or two will do.
It isn't just things physical,
My thinking's changed as well;
I don't read romance novels now,
I think biographies are swell.
I'm more selective with my movies,
My music choice has changed a lot;
Now I pick the slow and dreamy,
And skip what others say is "hot."
But, new thoughts now occur to me,
Perhaps of another nature;
From time to time I think about
My guardian angel's stature.
I thought that guardian angels
Should match one's age in years;
So they could truly understand
One's joys and one's tears.
Now, if that statement's really true,
My angel's hair should be snow white;
Her wings, most likely stiff from age,
So she can't do angel flights.
She probably wears bifocals, too,
She may even use a cane;
I suspect that her arthritis,
May have made her sore and lame.
But I guess she still can care for me,
Since I don't go anywhere;
I can not be too hard on her,
So, no more wear and tear.
For many years she's worked real hard,
Watching me was quite a chore;
And, while now I live so differently,
I just might need her more.
She'll be with me now I'm alone,
She'll soothe my tired brow;
She knows my pains and heartaches,
And how much I need God now.
Her line to God is still in place,
And, though she's slow and fragile;
She still communicates with Him,
There's no need to be so agile.
I think my guardian angel
Has grown old ... along with me;
And when my earthly ties are loosed,
She will help to set me free.
She'll take my hand ... we'll both go Home,
Our trip will be first rate;
Neither one of us will falter,
We'll help each other find the Gate
Golden Angel
I think I saw an Angel,
In my house last night;
She was sitting in my bedroom,
When I turned off the light.
She was elegantly simple,
In a gown of golden mesh,
Which glittered in the moonlight,
That shone upon her dress.
Soft, golden threaded wings,
Fluttered 'round her haloed head;
I could barely see them move,
As I looked out from my bed.
Oh, so tiny ... so petite,
Was I sure that she was there?
I took another little peek,
And saw her perched upon my chair.
For a moment I was frightened,
Yet, I felt assurance, too;
I wanted then to pick her up,
But my body would not move.
"Is she my Angel, God?" I asked,
"Of course she is," He said;
"And in the dark of night,
She is always by your bed.
"In the daylight hours,
She often perches on an ear;
Everyone has Angels,
And they are always near."
So I lay quite still and watched her,
As she fluttered 'round the place;
Soon she came up on my pillow,
And I swear she brushed my face.
Then, as I watched, she disappeared,
She completely left my sight;
I lay there just an instant,
Then turned on my bedroom light.
I looked into my dresser mirror,
And on the cheek that she had brushed,
Was the tiny imprint of a kiss,
That felt warm when I touched.
Then I looked about the room,
And what did my eye behold ...
But there upon my pillow case,
Was a tiny thread of gold
I believe in Angels and in Fairies too
I believe in angels,
And I believe in fairies, too,
They're not one and the same, you know,
They are distinctly two.
Angels are within the heart,
Fairies ... in the mind,
Angels ... always there to care,
Fairies ... just sometimes.
Fairies like to tease and play,
They dance and entertain,
They tickle chins and noses,
Like bubbles in champagne.
Angels are more serious,
They do heavy-duty things,
Like easing fears and wiping tears,
And hugging with their wings.
Angels are assigned by God,
They very rarely show,
Fairies oft are seen in dreams,
And, at will, they come and go.
Fairies live in fantasies,
They are wee, tiny things,
They flit about erratically,
On dainty gossamer wings.
Angels, though, are very real,
They come in different sizes,
Large, medium, small, petite,
It's hard to recognize them.
Fairies make all people smile,
Young and old alike,
To see one bathing in the dew,
Is a pure delight.
Angels, on the other hand,
May fill our eyes with tears;
We're overwhelmed with gratitude,
They've watched over us for years.
When we've been saved from trouble,
It's not coincidence,
God's placed angels in our path,
To stand up in our defence.
Fairies offer fun and frolic,
Both to small folk and full-grown,
But when people's lives are over,
Then angels take them home.
God's angels and earth's fairies,
I think are quite essential,
They surely are related,
For both are quintessential
