Sharon yes that flash flooding is a terrible experience. 

My whole block got flooded because the city water main broke .  That led to flooded basements.

The water was thigh deep.

That wasn`t a pretty picture standing in that water .

This happened  back in June of 1993 .

After that people had their pine trees cut down in order to get flood control for their home.

32 years later and we haven`t flooded yet.
