I am quite used to it, but I never take anything for granted...you did the right thing by running back to your car. You just never know and it's better to be safe! The bear spray is powerful and also works on other anilmals that may be threatening. (not to mention any humans that may threaten also) I am always prepared lol...

My God of bears! and you are going to camp among these wild animals!.... One day when we were in the mountains at dusk, we spotted some does in a field. We got out of the car to approach the small group, when suddenly we heard a frightening noise. Immediately, we ran as fast as we could and quickly got back to the car, our hearts pounding with fear... The next day I went to the ranger station to warn that there was a bear in the area. The ranger checked and told us that they were not around. He explained that the growling came from the doe sensing danger to protect her fawn....lolllll We went through a big scare... I swore that I would never go mountain hiking again...
