Groundhog Day is a tradition observed regionally in the United States and Canada on February 2 of every year. It derives from the Pennsylvania Dutch superstition that if a groundhog emerges from its burrow on this day and sees its shadow, it will retreat to its den and winter will go on for six more weeks; if it does not see its shadow, spring will arrive early. In 2025, the shadow was seen, auguring six more weeks of winter.
peaceful eve tom..xxo how was your afternoon....?...here i was out for strawberry cream tea...in sunshine...[ about 6 mile away..].and near a pond c 6 ducks tho water looked freezing.....xx!!.
Hi, Pix! I've never had strawberry cream tea! Sounds nice, though! Glad you were out and about. I had a relaxing day, thanks... mostly some leisurely housework, a little cooking, a little reading, some exercise (weights), and some homework. Frigid day here... about 15 degrees F. Do you remember the movie "Groundhog Day" with Bill Murray? Have a restful night! xoxo
"Away is good but home is best." (Swedish proverb). Groundhog says there are 6 more weeks of winter-good reason for me to stay home & be cozy. Feeling grateful I have a home; help those who do not.
