"The biggest myth about Southern women is that we are frail types, fainting on our sofas. Nobody where I grew up ever acted like that. We were about as fragile as coal trucks." -Lee Smith
Married 61 years, two children, five grown g'children, and a li'l kitty, Miss Darby, a 9yo Turkish Van (never heard of that one). Our vet, whose shelter we adopted this tiny thing from, gave us no warning, but we soon knew something was up. I googled breed temperament: 1st paragraph, "Put away breakables if you have a Turkish Van in the house." ummm... too late. Geeez, our grey-striped tabby cats were sane:) It's been a 9-yr adventure with lotsa love for li'l girl Darby aka 'Dobbie-Dobbie'. She's settling in quite nicely as she ages. lol

TURN OFF'S
THANKSGIVING THEN & NOW
Thanksgiving trips to Grandma's
Rooms filled with joyful din
Cousins renewing friendships
Relatives glad to be kin
Good food and all the makin's
Warm fellowship enjoyed by all
Memories of years gone by
Our minds so easily recall
Thanksgiving is reflective
of blessings gladly received
We keep in mind our fortunes
Remembering Who meets each need
With a thankful mind and heart
my thoughts reach out in peace
To wish you another gracious year
And blessings that never cease
