                           SILENCE

So many images
can fit in a sigh,
more than language
could convey

I steady my breath,
careful, not to gasp for words

it feels as though I'm suffocating
in a bout of quietude,
though silence
is vacuous here

ink dribbles from my tongue,
and settles, like dewdrops
at these fingertips

so many lines I strive to define,
but this sigh
is my only sound

                               WITH THE MEADOW

Cool winds caress my skin,
and the smell of grass and water spins
my head until I whimper down
into the soft serenading ground.

So, as the sleepy meadow sings,
with its soft and brilliant wings,
of its moon-lit blades and petals
in fields of flowers, tensions settle.

And of the silver waves, a roaring,
bring the moisture to me, soaring.
And in this silent nightly meeting,
the winds will give me their last greeting.

The conscious world is now fleeting,
and all the meadow is now sleeping.
I dream of rising with the sun,
and, me, to be, with the meadow, one.

I am loving to all around me,
helpful to those who need me,
caring for all in pain,
laughing at the strange moments in life,
