Loving You Still
Posted On 02/24/2011 02:23:59

Loving You Still…

To live in the memories of another, of a life so long ago

Your love comes back to haunt me, like an old time picture show

I can hear your laugh so hearty, and see those green eyes so clear

And just for a moment…I can almost feel you near…

How I loved you my darlin, but it just wasn’t meant to be

Knowing now… that God had other plans for me

But I visit those days gone forever, every now and then

It was one of the happiest times… that I had ever been

You chose other things over my love, like whiskey and cocaine

To this day I can still feel the agony, deep in my heart all the pain

It was a life of uncertainty, & with that I could not live…

And your love was the one thing… you could not completely give

When I hear this ole song, the feeling is bitter sweet…

Knowing the drugs and alcohol, was something I couldn’t beat

God has blessed me greatly though, with a man loyal to only me

I still wonder sometimes, why back then you couldn’t see…

What you were throwing away, for just another cheap thrill

But I’m grateful for all I have today…and knowing his love is real

I forgive you for the tragedy; our marriage had come to be

And give thanks to the Creator…that once again He rescued me….

Is The Boomer Becoming The Bummer?

Is The Boomer Becoming The Bummer?

What I miss most about the spaz is all the fun and laughs we had on the status board. Where people talk, joke and HAVE FUN!! I went there tonight for that very reason and as strange as it felt to be there, it also felt great! I know I have changed some, not into the naughty stuff, or the politics…the two things that seem be what the Boomer is about. (OH! And lets not forget the graphics!!) If folks aren’t into the ‘naughty’ or into politics or sending tons of graphics, doesn’t seem to be much left here. What ever happened to just good FUN!!

I understand it’s a somewhat different group of people here than I was use to on the spaz, but humor is humor and some act as though they are gonna melt if they join into the ‘fun’. I myself (and others) fought Hard for this status board. When I first came here we didn’t have one. Maybe its not as good as some sites, but other sites still don’t have one At All…At least here the Admin Tries….

The boring factor has risen to the point I have gone as far as looking into other sites to find my ‘happy’ again with upbeat people that Enjoy laughing (it is the best medicine ya know)…and going to the spaz to get it, wasn’t easy for me...but I’m so glad I did!! A reminder of what a fun nite online Should be! Fun should be a huge part of being on any site, don’t we all get enough of the other crap in real life? From what I can tell about “friendburst” all they do there is update their profiles and get as hateful to each other as they can on ‘political blogs’…not my idea of fun.

Yeah, so I’m a Christian, and yes I have renewed my Christian faith…wtf? Some act as if it’s a disease they may catch! Just cos I’m a believer (and always have been for the record!) doesn’t mean I don’t like and am not allowed to laugh and have fun! If my faith scares you that bad do us both a favor and delete me. No more than I hear from some of you, I won’t even know you’re gone…

To be honest, lately the Boomer has become a real drag!! I refuse to argue over politics or have political extremist on my page, THEY BORE ME!! As for the naughty…not into it, don’t want it on my page. There is a huge difference between tasteful good writings and SMUT!! Yes…I have naughty friends on my page, and all have been respectful to me and do not send me comments I do not wish to receive…and I thank you all for that!! They are good people with just a different style of writing than mine.

Looking over my options and they are getting thinner by the minute, but if I can’t have FUN on a site, I wont be on it for long. Some are so prudish you can’t say anything to them without offending them, others are silent and say Nothing at all, so why are they even on a social site? I’d rather not be on a site at all than to be on one where I’m bored to tears!! The ‘want-a-be’ politicians only want to argue, and some are just full of shit!!! I may be a God fearing Christian but I’m still human. I still enjoy laughing and having fun, I still cuss when irritated, and I’m apt to screw up at any given moment. (its called being HUMAN) I warned everyone from the git go I’m straight shooter (have you never looked at my page?) and I call it like I see it… & I have held back long enough!!

If you can’t talk to me on the status board, or thru a bulletin or an email every now & then, don’t bother sending me comments…and what’s up with all the comments anyway…some seem to think it’s their duty to send 3 or more a day…what the hell? Not that I don’t enjoy comments from my friends, but for some, the comments are the only time I hear from you At All…why? We all know your online…we can see you!! Can you not say hello on the status or via email? And I just don’t get it, why the ‘graphics’ are so blasted important to some…Just saying hello is called ‘common courtesy’…If your not going to communicate, what is the point of being on a “Social Site”?? If I don’t hear from you from time to time I don’t even know you’re here until I clean out my list of friends and start deleting. Why would I keep someone on my list I never hear from? Duhhh!!

As for Blogs…there are some awesome writers on this site…they put their heart and soul into their writings and yet many are ignored; or read with no comments made…at least leave a smiling face which says ‘I have no comment, but letting you know I was here.’ This too is just ‘common courtesy’!! Does no one check out the pages of their friends? It will tell you a lot about the person on your list. (Why I wont accept request from someone whose page I can not see). If they are writers they want to be read, if they are on the naughty side that is there too, if they are a Wiccian you will see and know this up front; if politics is their sole purpose for living, you can tell by their page.

For those that don’t know…this is called a RANT…I have held it in as long as I can stand it!!!! I’m done now so feel free to go back to what you were doing, but remember….if you get ugly with me in a comment here, I Will rip you a new one!!!

A Soldier Confides In His Mother About The War….
Posted On 02/22/2011 04:46:16

I reposted a bulletin this morning how our own government “leaders” are taking money out of AMERICANS pockets to rebuild and repair ‘Mosque’….then I got this letter from a dear friend. Both her children have served in the Military…the following is an account of what her son saw with his own eyes…I will not discuss her name or children’s names…and yes, the young man took many pictures while there and sent them to his mom, but will not post them. This is One Soldiers point of view…One Soldier the enemy did their best to kill, and that watched many of his friends get shot and yes…die…

A Soldier Confides In His Mother About The War….

( a mothers perspective)

Our SON while serving in Iraq War zone in ‘03 wrote to me about the way looters went into Uday Hussein’s palace [Uday was Saddams truly cruel and evil son] and in most areas of the palace grounds buildings was nothing left in the palace and surrounding buildings that LITERALLY was NOT cemented/or/bolted into palace....have a pic of our son sitting on Uday's 'throne' type entrance / greeting chair and beside it is one of the tea pot~Jeannie looking large lamps [must stand 6 foot tall]....and the chandeliers above it 'that could not be reached by looters'-THEN these grounds were made into a USA Headquarters ... where of course our TAX DOLLARS was indeed used to repair all the damage [[was bombed]]...

Our Son said that this mess of repairing their Mosque ...with USA dollars is absolutely Obama type doings due to act where he believes this mans' loyalties truly are in religious circles...For back in 2003 when Baghdad taken by USA Troops......HE WAS THERE....as well as also having been in 5 other cities thru-out Iraq and He says there: “hospitals...their many places of Worship Mosque’s were NOT targeted”. As so to keep some things built hundreds of years ago ' in tact ' as much as possible-period...

Hell -I have some pics of our Son - among his fellow Troops taken in/among the ancient "Ruins of Abraham"-for heavens sake! [‘The ancient ruins of Abraham' in the area once known as Mesopotamia - the area of the Tigris/Euphrates river system largely a part of modern-day Iraq -as well as some parts of northeastern Syria Southeastern Turkey and southwestern Iran] and sacred areas WERE NOT damaged by warring.

Damages that have destroyed many sacred places and high use/profile buildings associated with religious govt. sets/and/to Mosque's - and such done in last what 8 years - Our Son says 'believe it or not’: "IS" from the Iraq factions themselves: thru their uses of such things as car bombs/being allowed to fire at will within cities with AK47's as well as any other of their owned firearms/grenades/also IED placements along main thoroughfares within cities ... and as well as their own damn firebombing of buildings ...

Our Son says he saw 'much more of such type damage' when back in the country there in on '04 mission ... And he said there was even more 'destroy evidence' in small villages along the "cities walk" as he still calls it......because of the civil warring between Sunni and Shiite Islamic extremists sects were there in later '05...

…And so NOW "the good old Iraqi boys we placed in power there" - want OUR good ole Uncle Sam to pay for all Mosque's damaged.. AND also for ALL other rebuilding that needs doing thru-out Iraq - cause 'sure their slant on it is' - WE waged the war by coming over and bombing their lands/cities/villages soooo..now: WE THE PEOPLE hereshould" pay to rebuild ALL........ "

...I agree with my Son - when he said...."Let the ragheaded cruel hearted-sand roaches - call on Allāh to frickin' provide - and they can clean up their own shit - or hey-continue to live in it forever - as far as he is concerned!".....

Courtship, Marriage & More of the Apache Women....

Apache Chastity and Marriage

Chastity of Apache Women | Ceremonies | Apache Marriages | Horses as Money | Customs Regulating Marriage

From Life among the Apaches as observed by John C. Cremony, ca. 1862

Among those who have enjoyed the best opportunities for judging, the award for female chastity is given to the Apaches. During a period of about two years, when hundreds of them were under our charge, and mingling freely with our troops, not a single case occurred, to the best of my knowledge, wherein an Apache woman surrendered her person to any man outside her tribe. Cases of conjugal infidelity are extremely rare among them, and the girls take no ordinary pride in guarding their purity. The art of coquetry is practiced among them with quite as much zest as among the belles of our cities, and with such delicacy and tact, that the most refined among us might possibly study at a worse school. On the other hand, the Navajoes are extremely loose and sensuous. Although of the main branch of the great Apache tree they differ in tribal organization, in their manufacture of superb blankets, in their courage and address, and in the fact that they keep large flocks of sheep and cultivate the earth. In all other respects they are pure Apaches. Female virtue is little regarded among them, but is deemed of primary importance among the Apaches proper. Apache Bride, National Archives

When an Apache girl has reached the second year of her puberty the fact is widely circulated, and all present are invited to a grand feast and dance. She is then deemed marriageable and open to the solicitations of the young warriors. On such occasions the girl is dressed in all her finery. Small bells are hung to the skirts of her buckskin robe and along the sides of her high moccasins, which reach the knee. Bits of tinsel are profusely scattered all over her attire, until she is fairly weighed down by the quantity of her ornaments. Meat in abundance is cooked after their fashion, and the guests partake of it ad libitum. Twilt-kah-yee, an intoxicating beverage is freely distributed. A dried ox-hide is laid upon the ground, and some of the more noted musicians entertain the company with improvised songs, while others beat time upon the ox-hide with long and tough sticks. The noise of this drumming can be heard for two miles on a clear, calm night. Old warriors meet and recount their exploits; young ones ogle and court the marriageable girls; old women delight in cooking the supper and furnishing it to their hungry applicants. Suddenly a shout is raised, and a number of young men, variously attired in the skins of buffaloes, deer, cougars, bears, and other beasts, each looking as nearly natural as possible, make their appearance, and commence dancing to a regular measure around a huge central fire. The women pretend to be greatly alarmed at this irruption of beasts; the men seize their weapons and brandish them with menacing gestures, to which the human menagerie pays no sort of attention. Finding their efforts to intimidate futile, they lay aside their arms and join in the dance, which is then made more enjoyable by the intermingling of the young girls. In the meantime the one in whose honor all these rejoicings are given, remains isolated in a huge lodge, in which are assembled the sagamores and principal warriors of the tribe. She is not allowed to participate in, or even see what is going on outside; but listens patiently to the responsibilities of her marriageable condition. This feast lasts from three to five days, according to the wealth of the girl's father. After it is finished she is divested of her eyebrows, which is intended to publish the fact that she is in the matrimonial market. A month afterward the eyelashes are pulled out, one by one, until not a hair remains. The reasons for this extraordinary despoliation I have never been able to learn, and I doubt much if the Apaches themselves can assign any cause to the act beyond the exactions of custom. But this system of depilorizing the brows and eyes is not confined to the women; it is universal among the warriors, nor could any arguments of mine induce them to forego the practice. It probably arose from a desire to look unlike any other people, and to add to their ferociousness of aspect.

Marriage among the Apaches also has its singularities, and is not unworthy of special mention. The girls are wholly free in their choice of husbands. Parents never attempt to impose suitors upon their acceptance, and the natural coquetry of the sought-for bride is allowed full scope. These are their halcyon days, for after marriage "comes the deluge." Any amount of ogling, sly pressing of hands, stolen interviews, etc., is gone through with, just the same as with us, until the suitor believes his "game made," when he proceeds to test his actual standing, which is invariably done as follows: In the night time he stakes his horse in front of her roost, house, hovel, encampment, bivouac, or whatever a few slender branches, with their butt ends in the ground and their tops bound together, may be termed. The lover then retires and awaits the issue. Should the girl favor the suitor, his horse is taken by her, led to water, fed, and secured in front of his lodge; but should she decline the proffered honor, she will pay no attention to the suffering steed. Four days comprise the term allowed her for an answer in the manner related. A ready acceptance is apt to be criticised with some severity, while a tardy one is regarded as the extreme of coquetry. Scarcely any of them will lead the horse to water before the second day, as a hasty performance of that act would indicate an unusual desire to be married; nor will any suffer the fourth day to arrive without furnishing the poor animal with its requisite food and drink, provided they intend to accept the suitor, for such a course would render them liable to the charge of excessive vanity.

With us the possession of gold and silver indicates the enjoyment of wealth. Gold and silver are the recognized mediums of exchange for goods, and are called money; but with the Apaches a horse is money, and the value of any article is regulated by the number of horses which it may bring. Of course, the animal must be sound, and not over ten years of age, and no farrier among us is more skillful in these matters than they.

The lover, having been accepted, it becomes his duty to determine how many horses her parents are willing to receive for their daughter, it being mutually understood that the animals are given as a recompense for her services to the family. In exact proportion to the number of horses given, her worth and attractiveness are exalted. If a girl is sold for one animal, no matter how good, she is deemed of little account--quite plebeian, and by no means of the bon ton--by the rest of those present, and I am not so sure that our expression, "a one-horse affair," did not take its rise from this Apache system of graduated values.

On the third night of the feastings and junketings incident to the marriage, the bride and bridegroom suddenly disappear. During the whole of the time mentioned, they have been constantly in the presence of the sachems and wise squaws of the tribe, and are never permitted to even speak with each other. But love is far more watchful than precaution, and when the old people are overcome by drowsiness, incident upon long wakefulness and frequent potations, the young couple manage to make their escape, usually with the connivance of their seniors, who pretend to be quite innocent of the matter.

Several days prior to his marriage the bridegroom selects some beautiful and retired spot, from three to five miles from the main camp, and there he erects one of the shelters already described, but festooned with wild flowers, and generally embowered among the trees in a place difficult to discover. Thither he retreats with his bride, a sufficiency of provision having been laid in to last them a week or ten days, and there they take up their temporary abode. Their absence is expected, and re-appearance creates no visible recognition, as it is deemed indelicate to make any open demonstration on such occasions. The young bride assumes the air and pretenses of extraordinary modesty, and in the event of meeting one of her former associates, invariably turns her back or hides her face, and puts on all the simper of an American girl of twenty years ago--not nowadays--when accused of having a lover.

In a week this seeming bashfulness gives place to the regular and arduous duties of the Apache wife, and her life of toil and slavish suffering commences. The warrior may at any time repudiate his conjugal companion, and her chances for a second marriage consist in her reputation as a good worker, or for her personal attractions. In either case, she experiences no difficulty in obtaining a second, and even a third or fourth husband, but her market depends upon her prominence in these respects. Should there by any children, it becomes the reputed father's duty to provide for their support, and he, in turn, imposes that responsibility upon his other wives. The women are by no means averse to sharing the affections of their lords with other wives, as the increased number lessens the work for each individual, but the place of honor is always assigned to the one who was the first married, irrespective of age.

The custom of polygamy was not always in vogue among the Apaches. A celebrated warrior, and one wise in the traditions of his people, told me that time was when only one woman was deemed the proper share of one man, but their losses by war, and other causes, had so reduced the number of males that it was judged politic to make a change in this custom. He further added, that he thought degeneracy had been produced by its adoption, and that the individuals of the tribe had become alienated from each other. He rejoiced in but one wife with whom he had lived twenty years, and although she had fallen into the "sere and yellow leaf," he preferred her to all the young and more attractive women. She had borne him two fine sons and a daughter, all of whom were alive and well, and she possessed the experience requisite to make him a contented husband. His oldest son was a warrior, and his father's best friend and associate. He deprecated the system of polygamy, and thought that it would eventually emasculate and destroy the independence of his tribe. This was Nah-tanh, and his views were fully seconded by Klo-sen, and several others, but they could not hold their own against the practices of Gian-nah-tah, Natch-in-ilk-kisn, and other prominent and more licentious men.

A conversation with Gian-nah-tah reveals his attitude toward women:
One day an Apache woman died in camp, and I asked Gian-nah-tah if there would be much lamentation. He simply smiled at the idea, and replied: "It was a woman; her death is of no account."

The above description of Apache courtship and marriage is in Chapter XXI of Cremony's 1868 book, Life Among the Apaches, which is now available as a free ebook on this website.

James Tevis describes the fate of an unchaste Apache squaw:
The next day, Cochise's brother-in-law, came to me and said that his sister had gone wrong and that the law of the tribe left it to the elder member of the family to pass her sentence. This fell to him, and she either must have her nose cut off or be sent to the mescal grounds. He was troubled over this duty and came to talk about it with me. I told him to bring her in, and I would talk to her. He soon came back, bringing her in. She was a very good-looking squaw, about fifteen years of age. I asked her which she preferred, to have her nose cut off, or to be banished from the tribe to the mescal grounds. She chose the latter, so she was taken there to end her days by gathering mescal, digging the pits, and roasting the mescal for the tribe. She only saw others of her tribe when the squaws went there for mescal. [Tevis, Arizona in the '50s, p. 152-3]

James Tevis was in charge of the Apache Pass station of the Overland mail in the late 1850s and became well-known to Cochise's tribe which camped nearby. His book of memoirs, Arizona in the '50s, contains a wealth of information on the Apache tribe.

A Note to My Friends...
Posted On 02/16/2011 09:47:07

My Dear Friends,

Those that have taken the time to develop a ‘real’ friendship with me know that have Re-Dedicated my life to Christ. This is the reason for the many deletions as of late. Not because I didn’t like loosing those ‘friends’ but because they refused to show respect where naughty comments are concerned…even after I asked them not to send them.

(A few I deleted for sending comments with 8 or more pics at a time, again…although I repeatedly asked them not too)

Now I have Not turned into a prude all of a sudden, but some things are meant to be private and some should not be sent at all…this is my opinion, and since this is MY page…its my opinion that counts.

Have also deleted those with strong and RUDE political views…there is no need for rudeness…Deleted only those that cross the line regarding rudeness and lack of respect.

Why this bulletin? Because I don’t want to loose the friends I have and I’m only asking (respectfully of course) for a lil respect to be shown on my page. I ‘DO’ have a sense of humor and love to laugh as most have seen in the status board…But I will NOT choose a friend or the naughtiness over my faith…I’m still a huge sinner and make More than my share of mistakes…so don’t think any different. This may surprise you but God CAN see my page…and When, not if… I get too rowdy, (and I do) He calls me on it!

Thank you for all the comments you send me, for the love you have shown me and the friendships that are Real….its appreciated more than I know how to say…But it was on my heart & mind heavy to post this so many of you would understand where I’m coming from and why. I LOVE MY FRIENDS and that is why I am here, cos I love you guys…Thank you so much for taking the time to read this…

Much love to you &

God Bless….

Whispering Love

Voices from the ocean call to her

The pain of life… burdens some

The fear of not continuing on, for others

And a love never forgotten whispers to her…

The voice she recognizes & trembles…

Her lovers voice is calling her name &

her broken heart... bleeding with tears

The sound of the waves echo her loneliness &

carry the shattered dreams out into the sea

Where her restless emotions will fall

to sandy floor

For only the life below…is to ever know

She prays for release of her agony

To be reunited once again…

With the only love she has ever known...

Keeping My Eye On the Big Picture
Posted On 02/14/2011 04:13:48

While my heart is heavy for those in need...I'm keeping my eye on the big picture. Its not always easy mind you...but reminders like this one are a great help. If you believe differently, that's on you...(just dont judge me ok, I already have a judge)

The Heart Remembers

The Heart Remembers

Forced from the land, now covered in blood

Mother Earth is weeping for her children

War paint is now replaced, with tears that flood

Our youth were taken, taught ways unknown

Tongues of the people were forbidden

Others left to find…a new place to call home

The slaughter at Wounded Knee…by the men in blue

Remembered by our own, forgotten by others

This history is forever in My mind…what about You?

Thankful

Praying Pictures, Images and Photos

Thankful…

When my heart is heavy…where are You?

Walking right beside me… in all I do

When tears flow like rain, & are burning my cheeks

You remind me of the words, said about the meek

If my shoulders should slump, from the all of the weight

And I wonder aloud… how much more I can take…

You always are there, with the reminders I need

Making me grateful again, for that long ago… planted seed

Once the dark clouds pass over, & I see the light once more

I give thanks my Lord, that You… never closed Your door…
