Many of you know the Friend we lost who was a member here on Boomers. Karen who' profile name was Kaylou. She Passed in January and her Grandaughter was Pregnant at the time and she named the Baby before she passed. On april the 13th Karen's great Grandaughter Grace was born, Congratulations to Karen's family. also to Grandmother Ole_Carolina also a member at Boomer I pray that little Grace has a blessed life..

Karen Louise Garland (Keesee)Sunday, June 14, 1953 - Saturday, January 25, 2020
Karen Louise Garland, beloved wife, mother, and daughter, of Cape Girardeau, MO, age 66, left this earth January 25th, 2020, surrounded by her loving family. We will always admire and remember her immense courage, strong faith, as well as her vivacious, high spirited attitude and outlook on life. She was a resilient, passionate figure of strength who never wavered in her support or love for her family and who soldiered on even when times were tough.
Karen was born to Edna Louise (Dunn) Keesee and Vester (Sonny) Keesee Jr. on
June 14th, 1953 in Cape Girardeau, MO. She moved from Cape County to Bollinger County where she spent several years residing in the Sedgewickville and Patton area. She was an active member of Mt. Carmel Church until her illness in 2017. She and Billie Joe Garland were united in marriage on October 21st, 2002.
Survivors include her mother, three daughters; Candida Harper of Raeford, NC, Heather Lawson of Cape Girardeau, MO, Beth Raines of Cape Girardeau, MO, and a son; Michael Joe (Tiffany) Raines of Scopus, MO. She is also survived by a sister, Cathy (Darrell) Hobbs of Jackson, MO; brother, Kenneth Keesee of Cape Girardeau, MO; as well as several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Karen was proceeded in death by her husband, father, maternal & paternal grandparents, and one granddaughter.
Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM with the funeral service immediately following on Monday January 27th at Liley Funeral Home in Patton, MO. A private family burial will follow at Pulliam Cemetery.

The only way Karen drink is through a sponge swab.. Hospice just called the family to her side and said she has 24 hours. Her daughter is just devasted seeing her mom like this, Something I know Karen told me She didn't want her family seeing her suffer, that was important to her,

Please Pray for Kaylou and her family. They were unable to wake her from her nap yesterday.
The family are all going there to be with her .They need everyones prayers Now. She asked me a couple weeks back to keep Boomers updated and write a blog which I did , not all members have been seeing the update, So I felt I needed to write this so all know. Please! keep her and family in your Prayers.

Some times from an online friendship you meet someone special You get very close with and you feel you have known her your whole life.
Our friendship began as she was diagnosed with Lung cancer and she went through different' treatments. She joined the Boomer team as a Greeter and was asked to help and be part of the design contest team and worked hard helping us count votes. We had many good laughs together. She had stopped her Chemo treatments because it made her very ill. Later this year she was put on an experimental treatment which ended in November.
A few days ago she received the results and they were not as good as she was hoping for. She was told from her doctor the cancer is growing and only divine intervention can help.
She is still the upbeat silly friend that I know and she wants to remain that way. Please understand at this time she doesn't want or need any questions asked. This is the last thing that she wants.
Karen Has asked me to post a blog to let her friends know her condition,She's struggling using the keyboard and she does not have the energy to be on line long and she is unable to post a blog herself.
What she Wants and Needs at this time are Your Prayers. She has said she will take all the prayers she can get.

My Grass was so covered with leaves I took out the lawn tractor and cut them up.
As you can see I still have a lot more that will fall which means I will be out again at least a couple times this week to keep up. Behind the fence I just took the blower and moved them down the drop into valley.
Looking forward to seeing the mountains once all the leaves have fallen.

I decided to place the vinyl fence behind my Berm. Which meant I had to move all rocks and larger borders rock from the back of the berm,
Today they came out and placed the fencing ,It makes the bushes I planted really show up. Now the work begins in placing the weed guard back down and move the rocks back to the fence
The first picture is the start of the work. The second is the finish.
Now this is what I need to do to finish.I need to replace some weed barrier and move rocks back to fence

Long ago I loved the Burger king whooper . Years ago I decided to quit eating red meat , and although I still love my KFC chicken They claim the new plant based Chicken is heathier for you. Lower in Fat calories and Sodium. I'm excited about trying both of these and happy they are doing this..
Has anyone tried the plant based Burger king whopper or KFC chicken yet. What do you think?
