Proverbs 3:28

Say not unto thy neighbour, Go, and come again, and to morrow I will give; when thou hast it by thee.

Click here to listen to Commentary

A delay can turn charity into cruelty! If you can help a needy person today, do not wait. Help him today. Do not offer or promise to help in the future. Real love will help now!

A delay can turn debt into theft! If you owe a person or business, and you can pay, then withholding payment is theft, for you are keeping what is rightfully theirs. Clear the debt!

The previous proverb condemns refusing to pay. It reads, “Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it” (Pr 3:27). This proverb before you condemns delaying to pay. Godly men will pay charity or debt and on time.

God’s rules for success include cash flow and timely payment of charity and debts. There are good reasons for paying today rather than later. You may never live to see tomorrow (Pr 27:1). You may lose the means you now have (Pr 23:5). You cause the poor to live another day in grief (Jas 2:15-16; 5:1-5). A little when needed is better than more later!

This godly rule of wisdom taught by King Solomon applies to bills, debts, dues, wages, taxes, charity, family support, giving, and any similar obligations. If you owe anyone or could help anyone, and you have the money to do so, you should certainly give it today.

Why would anyone say, “Go, and come again, and to morrow I will give”? Is it a selfish desire to hold things another day? Is it selfish hope the need will end? Is it selfish hope someone else will give? Is it profane hope compassion will wane? All four are shameful!

When God wrote the laws for the nation of Israel, day laborers had to be paid their wages every day, and the poor had to have security deposits returned to them every night (Lev 19:13; Deut 24:12-15). The God of heaven cares about details. Beware of holding back!

The due date on a bill or loan payment is when it is due. Can you grasp that? The grace period is the days a creditor will let you steal before seeking to put you in jail. You do not have a Christian right to the grace period. Pay your bills before the due date. Be noble.

A good rule is to pay bills and obligations when they are incurred, or when they arrive in the mail. This creates financial freedom, and you are always ahead for the unexpected emergency. Living from check to check, from bill to bill, is painful and imprudent folly.

When you employ anyone for wages, whether to cut your grass, repair your car, or watch your children, pay them that day! God will be honored, your reputation enhanced, and the receiving persons thrilled. Doing such minor financial things God’s way is win-win-win.

God cares for the poor. He expects you to also care, when they have a real need, and you can help. He gave you the financial means to help them, so freely share. Talk is cheap and does no good (Jas 2:15-16; I Jn 3:17-18). Performance is what counts (II Cor 8:11).

Giving to the poor is lending to God (Pr 19:17); it proves eternal life (I Jn 3:11-24); and it ought to be done as soon as a need is detected. Jesus Christ expects the rich to be ready and willing to give money away, and He rewards them for it (I Tim 6:17-19; Heb 6:10).

When a neighbor is in need, get it for him as soon as possible. You can produce joy by a fast response. It has been said, “He gives twice who gives speedily.” The trait of great men is not only mercy, but the love of mercy (Mic 6:8). Show such love by quick help.

Paul gave a rule like this proverb when he wrote, “Owe no man any thing, but to love one another” (Rom 13:8). You must pay all charity or debt that is due, but then you will still be in debt to love your neighbor, which is the second greatest commandment of God.

The crucified thief cried, “Lord, remember me” (Luke 23:42). Jesus, keeping the rule of this proverb in matters far greater than money, did not defer until the next day, when it would have been too late. He said, “To day shalt thou be with me in paradise” (Lu 23:43).

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to St John 6:44-51.

Thursday, April 18th. Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to St John 6:44-51.

by FRANCIS XAVIER CATHOLIC CHURCH

I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give is my flesh for the life of the world."

thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint John 6:44-51.
Jesus said to the crowds: «No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draw him, and I will raise him on the last day.
It is written in the prophets: 'They shall all be taught by God.' Everyone who listens to my Father and learns from him comes to me.
Not that anyone has seen the Father except the one who is from God; he has seen the Father.
Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever believes has eternal life.
I am the bread of life.
Your ancestors ate the manna in the desert, but they died;
this is the bread that comes down from heaven so that one may eat it and not die.
I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give is my flesh for the life of the world."

Preventing and Fixing Bad Breath (Halitosis)

Preventing and Fixing Bad Breath (Halitosis)

Many people have bad breath without even realizing it. This can cripple your likelihood of enjoying a healthy social life, finding a significant other, and even advancement in your career. Halitosis or bad breath is mostly a result of poor hygiene and is completely treatable. It is quite easy to prevent and fix bad breath with the following guidelines.

  • Brush your teeth and scrape your tongue first thing every morning, and also after each time you take a nap. Foul-smelling bacteria have had a chance to take over your mouth while you slept, and are most likely causing yucky "morning breath." Tongue scrapers can be found in most health food stores, and also in drug stores and convenience stores as they become more popular.

  • After you brush your teeth and scrape your tongue, rinse your mouth thoroughly and gargle with fresh, cool water. This is a very important step, one that many people overlook. Nobody likes to smell your breath when it's laden with dirty, used toothpaste scum.

  • Drink plenty of water - Insuring that you drink plenty of water throughout the day can help to control bad breath (halitosis). This can be an especially important consideration for those people who suffer from xerostomia (chronically dry mouths).

If you allow yourself to become dehydrated your body will try to conserve moisture by reducing its production of saliva. Saliva has a cleansing and diluting effect on the bacteria and bacterial waste products that cause bad breath. A reduction in the amount of saliva in your mouth can make it harder for you to control odors associated with your breath.

  • Rinse your mouth with water often - Rinsing with water can mitigate bad breath problems for brief periods of time. Rinsing will both dilute and partially remove the bacterial waste products that are the cause of breath odors.
  • {mosgoogle left}
  • Stimulate your mouth's flow of saliva - You can help to minimize bad breath odors by stimulating your body's flow of saliva. This is because saliva has a cleansing and diluting effect on the bacteria and bacterial waste products that cause bad breath.

One way to stimulate salivary flow is to chew on something. Doing so will trick your body in to thinking that it is getting a meal. And in preparation for digesting this meal your body will increase its production of saliva.

Chewing gum, cloves, breath mints, or lozenges can also be used to stimulate salivary flow. If you elect to use one of these products make sure it is sugar-free since sweets will promote the growth of bacteria that cause tooth decay.

  • After you eat or drink anything (besides water), thoroughly rinse your mouth and gargle with water. Use this practice without fail, day and night, and you will keep abreast of nasty bacteria buildup in your mouth, which cause bad breath. Run your tongue along the surfaces of your teeth throughout the day, and if you ever notice any plaque buildup, brush your teeth again and rinse thoroughly with water, making sure that you feel your teeth, not plaque buildup, which is a contributing factor in bad breath.

Fixing Bad Breath on the Spot -

  • Drink water and ask for lemon to be included. Surreptitiously squeeze as much of the lemon into the water as possible, as it will help cover up the odor.

  • Chew a piece of gum or eat some mint candy.

  • Gargle with salt to neutralise some of the odour.

  • Sneak a spoon into the bathroom. Check to make sure you're alone. Look into the mirror, stick out your tongue and check for a pasty white goo on it. Turn the spoon upside down and use it to scrape your tongue, using a back to front motion. If you can't manage to sneak off with a spoon, head to the restroom, wash your hands, use your fingernails to scrape your tongue.

Top 5 Viral Videos of 2012
Posted On 04/02/2013 04:47:33

 ( 29 Votes )

A viral video is a visual treat that gains mass popularity on the internet through technological word-of-mouth spreading via social media, websites, e-mails, etc. These videos are a means to spread ideas, sometimes public humour for comic relief or to market a product. Here's a compilation of the most viral videos of 2012:

1. Kony
Joseph Kony is a terrorist heading the LRA(Lord's Resistance Army), a Ugandan guerilla group, accussed of many crimes against humanity such as abducting children to train as soldiers or being sold as sex-slaves. The video Kony 2012, created by Invisible Children, Inc., brought to light the brutality of Kony and his organisation. The aim of this video was to instigate the capture of Kony. Many celebrities also lent their voice to this cause such as Angelina Jolie and Oprah Winfrey.

2. Gangnam Style
Psy is a South Korean rapper, musician and dancer who basically shot to fame almost overnight with 'Gangnam Style'. It is mostly him doing an absolutely ridiculous, singular dance move throughout the video to a hypnotic techno track surrounded by horses, a dancing kid, beautiful women, a carousel, commuters and old people. The video even hold a Guinness record for most Youtube likes. t's a mystery what you can credit the video's success to but some might say his dance moves and swag count.

3. Dumb Ways to Die
Dumb Ways to Die is a hilarious viral video released in the interest of public safety for the Australian Metro, by designer Julian Frost. It is an animation on the different dumb ways to die (obviously!) with an inclusion on how being killed by a metro train is one of them. The simplicity and comic factor of the video lends it it's popularity among the masses

4. Catch the Ice Dude
As much as we hate to derive pleasure from another's humiliation, it is often a good source of entertainment as is this video. This German diver didn't quite go down in a splash and may be scarred from his fiasco but his friends thought to worsen his situation by recording and putting his entire ordeal online. This video offers plenty laughs and caution for anyone who is interested in ice acrobatics.

5. Best Job
Procter and Gamble released an ad praising mother's worldwide before the London Olympics. The video features mothers from all over the world sharing their journeys on raising their young Olympians. It plays on sentimentalism and piggybacking on the hot topic at the time - The Olympics.

Magnificent Tour of the Vatican!

Magnificent Tour of the Vatican!

Vatican City officially the State of the Vatican City is a landlocked sovereign city-state whose territory consists of a walled enclave within the city of Rome. At approximately 44 hectares (110 acres), and with a population of around 800, it is the smallest independent state in the world by both population and area.

The Vatican City is a city-state that came into existence in 1929 and is thus clearly distinct from the central authority of the Roman Catholic Church, known as the Holy See, which existed long before 1929. Ordinances of Vatican City are published in Italian. Official documents of the Holy See are issued mainly in Latin. The two entities even have distinct passports: the Holy See, not being a country, only issues diplomatic and service passports; the state of Vatican City issues normal passports. In both cases the number of passports issued is extremely limited.

The Lateran Treaty in 1929, which brought the city-state into existence, spoke of it as a new creation (Preamble and Article III), not as a vestige of the much larger Papal States (756-1870) that had previously encompassed central Italy. Most of this territory was absorbed into the Kingdom of Italy in 1860, and the final portion, namely the city of Rome with a small area close to it, ten years later, in 1870.

Vatican City is a non-hereditary, elected monarchy that is ruled by the Bishop of Rome — the Pope. The highest state functionaries are all clergymen of the Catholic Church. It is the sovereign territory of the Holy See (Sancta Sedes) and the location of the Pope's residence, referred to as the Apostolic Palace.

The Popes have resided in the area that in 1929 became the Vatican City only since the return from Avignon in 1377. Previously, they resided in the Lateran Palace on the Caelian Hill on the opposite side of Rome, which was out of repair in 1377. The signing of the agreements that established the new state took place in the latter building, giving rise to the name of Lateran Pacts, by which they are known.

The Vatican City is itself of great cultural significance. Buildings such as St. Peter's Basilica and the Sistine Chapel are home to some of the most famous art in the world, which includes works by artists such as Botticelli, Bernini, Raphael and Michelangelo. The Vatican Library and the collections of the Vatican Museums are of the highest historical, scientific and cultural importance.

In 1984, the Vatican was added by UNESCO to the List of World Heritage Sites; it is the only one to consist of an entire state. Furthermore, it is the only site to date registered with the UNESCO as a centre containing monuments in the "International Register of Cultural Property under Special Protection" according to the 1954 Hague Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict.

The Worlds Most Outlandish Creatures

Check out these outlandish creatures from around the world! Mother nature has really indulged in her creative side with them! Includes incredible creatures like the Olm, Assassin spider, blobfish, satanic gecko and others!

Image

Blanket Octopus

Blanket Octopus

The Blanket Octopus is a truly remarkable sight. This unique octopus is able to open its tentacles to reveal a thin colorful membrane which spreads out like a ‘blanket’, this  is done to make the Blanket Octopus look bigger and ward away predators

Blobfish

Blobfish

The Blobfish doesn’t really do much… content to float in place and wait for food to stumble upon it, the Blobfish is a true opportunist. This type of lifestyle works well for the Blobfish as it means the Blobfish is able to survive on small amounts of food due to the lack of exertion in its life.

Hemeroplanes Caterpillar

Caterillar

I know the picture looks like a snake but i assure you this is 100% a caterpillar. Infact that is the entire point of the Hemeroplanes Caterpillar, this master of camouflage has a very uniwue defense mechanism in that it can do a very good impression of a pit viper. If the Hemeroplanes Caterpillar feels threatened it will raise the top half of its body from the surface and inflate to resemble a pit viper – this crafty caterpillar even emulates a lunging motion giving the impression its about to strike!

 Assassin Spider

Assassin Spider

Is it a spider? Or is it a giraffe? Look at its neck! The Assassin Spider (above) is indeed a truly bizarre specimen. The Assassin Spider sports a long neck which is needed to provide leverage due to its massive jaws which is uses to expertly catch and assassinate its prey.

 Hairy Crab

Crab

Wouldn’t it be great if you could detoxify the air around you, removing pollution and poisons? That’s exactly what the ‘hairs’ that this crab is named for do. The ‘hair’ which is actually setae acts as i filter and removes damaging poisons and chemicals from the water surrounding the Hairy Crab. This ability is especially important to the blind Hairy Crab as it is known to make its home in some of the most inhospitable environments.

 Hatchetfish

Hatchet Fish

This small fish spends its entire life in the darkest parts of the worlds oceans hidden from prying eyes. The Hatchetfish may not seem spectacular at first sight however the Hatchetfish is actually a light source in the deep, dark oceans it calls home. The Hatchetfish has organs in its sides called photophores which can be ‘turned on’ to give out a glow similar to that of an led light. The Hatchetfish uses this ability to attract unsuspecting prey and will do the opposite to evade predators.

 Leafy Sea Dragon

Sea Dragon

The Leafy Sea Dragon is a master of camouflage and spends its days drifting through the water perfectly emulating a floating piece of seaweed. The Leafy Sea Dragon gos to great lengths to stay camouflaged such as traveling extremely slow as to not give itself away. Like its closest relatives the sea horses, the male Leafy Sea Dragon carries fertilized eggs until they are ready to hatch.

 Olm

Olm

The Olm is a fascinating example of an amphibian that makes its home in the waters of Europe. This bizarre creature can only be found in the deepest, darkest waters and relies on none of the traditional senses we humans are used to such as sight or hearing.

 Satanic Leaf-tailed Gecko

Gecko

So far we’ve had numerous masters of camouflage in this list but the Satanic Leaf-tailed Gecko really deserves the number one spot! Could there ever be a more accurate representation of a crusty dead leaf? I don’t think so

The Deadliest Creatures (Most Easy to Miss)
Posted On 04/02/2013 04:30:13

The deadliest (and easy to miss) critters lurk in dark silence, ready to strike with either the barest of warnings or none at all - and with absolutely fatal venom.

The Deadliest Creatures (Most Easy to Miss)

The deadliest (and easy to miss) critters lurk in dark silence, ready to strike with either the barest of warnings or none at all - and with absolutely fatal venom.

1. The Cone Snail: can kill you in less than 4 minutes

Say, for instance, you happen to be happily walking through the low surf merrily picking up and discarding shells, looking for just the right one to decorate your desk back at the office.

With no warning at all, however, you feel a sharp sting from one of those pretty shells -- a sting that quickly flares into a crawling agony. With that quick sting, the cone snail's barbed spear has insidiously injected you with one of the most potent neurotoxins in existence.

2. Poison Arrow Frog: Lethal Touch

That frog over there, for instance: that tiny, brilliantly colored tree frog. Doesn't he look like some kind of Faberge ornament, there against that vermilion leaf? Wouldn't such a natural jewel look just gorgeous in a terrarium back home?

Pick him and you'll be dead in a matter of minutes. One second frolicking in the undergrowth, the next spasming and foaming on the jungle floor. No stinger, no bite, no venom: just the shimmering slimecovering his brilliant body.

"They are the only animal in the world known to be able to kill a human by touch alone. They can jump as far as 2 inches."

 3. The lazy clown of the insect world.

The adult moth is just a moth, but the hairs of the caterpillar are juicy with nasty stuff, so nasty that dozens of people die every year from just touching them. By the way, it’s not a good way to go, either: their venom is a extremely powerful anticoagulant, death happening as the blood itself breaks down. Not fun. Very not fun.

4. Beaked Sea Snake

Another creature of nightmares that doesn’t come with a theme song is a strange import to the world aquatica. When you think snake you usually think of dry land. But if you go paddling around the Persian Gulf (or coastal islands of India) keep a wary eye out for the gently undulating wave of Enhydrina Schistosa.

5. Stone Fish waits for you to step on it

But it’s not time to leave the sea quite yet. There are two nasty things in the blue depths you should spend many a sleepless night frightened of. For the big one you’ll have to wait a bit, for the one right below it in terrifying lethality you just have to watch your step when you’re walking along the bottom of the ocean.

6. Box Jellyfish should really be called the "coffin" jellyfish

Chironex fleckeri: a tiny jellyfish found off the coast of Australia and southeastern Asia. Only about sixteen inches long, it has four eye-clusters with twenty-four eyes, its tentacles carry thousands of nematocysts, microscopic stingers activated not by ill-will but by a simple brush against shell, or skin. Do this and they fire, injecting anyone and anything with the most powerful neurotoxin known.
