A bone to pick
Posted On 06/13/2012 03:44:12

Science now knows that everything around us is just a projection from our own brains. No different than a dream in reality. No one really knows what is actually around us. All we see and touch is a like a hologram. And when we die we will probably just go on dreaming. Which explains why the Bible says the dead are sleeping. In reality we are all sleeping. We will not know life until the return of Christ. Then the dead in Christ shall rise. We are in a prison of sorts. Our chains are gravity which holds us here. We perceive everything through these holes in our heads. The same holes we use when we are dreaming. And while we are dreaming; it's just as real to us as this is. No wonder people drink and do drugs. If I didn't believe in Christ and his promises of a better life and a better world and a glorified body; I'd drink and do drugs too. This body is a disaster. The older I get the harder it is to navigate. I forgot my arthritis pill last night and could barely climb out of the bed. So while we sit and argue about who's right and who's wrong and who knows something and who doesn't. We are feeding the very thing that keeps us in this prison and that is our egos. Our need to feel better than everyone else, smarter, more enlightened. So we fight and argue and kill one another to press our point and shove our opinions down each other's throats. A bunch of ignorant dogs fighting over a bone. That's how we probably look to our creator. Like a bunch of hound dogs rolling around in our own waste products and fighting over territories and bones. If you ever watch dogs you see where some of these terms come from like when they are fighting over a bone and stick their asses in one another's faces. We call that; showing their ass. I can put down a bone for each dog, yet they will fight over one bone and leave the other one. Even though both bones are identical. And me and my husband laugh at their insanity. But we still love them and find them cute. Until they start trying to hurt one another; then they just look like a couple of dumb asses who need to be reprimanded before they kill one another. All over a dumb bone. And they will do this no matter how many bones I put down for them. It's the nature of the beast. They want it all. This is probably how we look to God, but ya, he does still love us and want good things for us; just as I do my dumb dogs.

Happy New Year!
Posted On 01/01/2012 07:19:46

Well, we got the holiday crap out of the way. Thank God! The New Years ball dropped so now can we get on with our lives? Boy does Dick Clark look old. I didn't even think he was still alive. Poor guy. I shouldn't really say that; he may be quite happy. Anyway, I'm glad it's over with. We've been so blessed this year. Lots of warm weather and very little snow. That's a Thank You, Jesus, for sure. I just had a week off and am ready to get back to work. I do miss my puppies though when I'm gone so much. They are both tucked away inside the pillow case on the pillow on the couch. They crawl in their all the time. Their just a couple of tiny little dudes. I think Pee Wee would like to have a girl friend but I don't know about taking on another one. It's a lot of work some times and I  only have two hands. Besides, these guys are so good and I've heard Chiwawa's can really be nasty. So I guess we got lucky, better not push it. I did manage to take them for a walk in their stroller a couple of times. Which is really something for December in Ohio.

My son deleted me from his Facebook page again. It's amazing how much better you get along with your relatives when you never see them or speak to them. I should have left well enough alone and never even gotten a computer. But my other son seemed to think we really needed one of these modern marvels. It doesn't endear relatives to one another like I thought it would. I did enjoy chatting and playing games with my grandson but he was going to places he knows he was not supposed to be going on his computer and managed to acquire 20 viruses in just one week since he got it. So daddy put it up for six months. He's in the seventh grade and you know how curious they are at that age.

This was a pretty good year I guess. The person that was causing me to be sick and get stiff necks last spring was transferred to a different schedule, after she went after another girl, and met her match. I'm so glad that monster is not on my schedule any more. She only likes men. So she got her schedule changed to work with one of the guys. I don't think he's real happy about that but at least she leaves him alone.

I baked lots of Christmas cookies this year and took a bunch to work. Well, Happy New Year everyone. I don't listen to the gloom and doom stuff too much any more. I did come to the conclusion that mostly people are just trying to sell books. That doesn't mean they don't know what they're talking about but I'm not going to worry about something I have no control over any way. I do love the new talk host on Coast to Coast am, John B. Wells. I absolutely love this guy. I always listen when he's on. He can make any show a good one. George Noory is puting me to sleep these days. Maybe he's burnt out. But John B. Wells is a fantastic talk show host for sure. He reminds me of the old Art Bell days. Unfortunately he'll only be on on the weekends, Saterday for sure, but he was on this week while George took a vacation. He's the real article you know what I mean? I love this guy!

Holiday Hazards for Pets
Posted On 12/19/2011 06:07:31

Lights, decorations, good food... every year, as we celebrate the holidays, we fill our homes with seasonal cheer for ourselves and our families. However, what may seem beautiful and harmless to us may pose hidden dangers to our pets. Don't let an emergency spoil the festivities! Below are some common holiday hazards for dogs and cats and ways to prevent them.Holiday HazardHow to keep your pet safeDangerous FoodsThe following can be toxic to pets: chocolate, raisins, grapes, macadamia nuts, garlic, onion, alcohol, caffeinated beverages, bread dough, and sugar-free candy and gum containing the artificial sweetener xylitol.Regular FoodsDespite tradition, bones should never be given to pets. Even beef, ham, and other "regular" foods that are not considered toxic can cause illness in pets. If your pet is a moocher, keep a saucer of his regular treats on the table to offer when he asks. He probably won't know the difference!New Treats and ToysEven a pet-safe treat can cause stomach upset if it is new to your pet. Offer only one of these at a time (ideally, separated by a few days). If your pet becomes ill after eating a holiday treat, it will be easier to trace the source and discontinue it. Also, check new toys for sharp edges, pieces that can be chewed off, or other potential hazards.PlantsHazardous plants include mistletoe, some evergreens (including some types of pine), and holly bushes and berries. Try to keep these plants away from pets, or at least supervise pets when dangerous plants are nearby.DecorationsTinsel, tree ornaments, ribbons, string, and garlands are some items that can be dangerous if eaten by pets. Keep these items away from pets — especially when pets are unattended. Don't forget to cover any electrical cords or keep them out of reach.Fire and Carbon MonoxideMonitor pets near fireplaces, wood-burning stoves, candles, and portable heaters. Also, don't forget to check smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors to make sure they are functioning properly. Space heaters, furnaces, and idling cars (in a garage) can increase the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning in pets and humans.Christmas TreesMonitor your pets when they are around your holiday tree. Pets may eat the needles (even from artificial trees) or drink water from the base of the tree, which can be toxic (especially if there are preservatives in it). Keep electrical cords and decorative lights out of reach, too.

BANANAS
Posted On 11/20/2011 02:40:39

A professor at CCNY for a physio...logical psych class told his class about bananas.

He said the expression "going bananas" is from the effects of bananas on the brain. Read on:

Never, put your banana in the refrigerator!!!

This is interesting.

After reading this, you'll never look at a banana in the same way again.

Bananas contain three natural sugars - sucrose, fructose and glucose combined with fiber.

A banana gives an instant, sustained and substantial boost of energy.

Research has proven that just two bananas provide enough energy for

a strenuous 90-minute workout. No wonder the banana is the

number one fruit with the world's leading athletes.

But energy isn't the only way a banana can help us keep fit.

It can also help overcome or prevent a substantial number

of illnesses and conditions, making it a must to add to our daily diet.

Depression: According to a recent survey undertaken by MIND

amongst people suffering from depression, many felt much better after eating a banana.

This is because bananas contain tryptophan, a type of protein that

the body converts into serotonin, known to make you relax,

improve your mood and generally make you feel happier.

PMS: Forget the pills - eat a banana. The vitamin B6 it contains

regulates blood glucose levels, which can affect your mood.

Anemia: High in iron, bananas can stimulate the production of

hemoglobin in the blood and so helps in cases of anemia.

Blood Pressure: This unique tropical fruit is extremely high

in potassium yet low in salt, making it perfect to beat blood pressure.

So much so, the US Food and Drug Administration has just allowed

the banana industry to make official claims for the fruit's ability to

reduce the risk of blood pressure and stroke.

Brain Power: 200 students at a Twickenham (Middlesex) school

(England) were helped through their exams this year by eating bananas

at breakfast, break, and lunch in a bid to boost their brain power.

Research has shown that the potassium-packed fruit can assist

learning by making pupils more alert.

Constipation: High in fiber, including bananas in the diet can

help restore normal bowel action, helping to overcome the problem

without resorting to laxatives.

Hangovers: One of the quickest ways of curing a hangover

is to make a banana milkshake, sweetened with honey. The banana calms

the stomach and, with the help of the honey, builds up depleted

blood sugar levels, while the milk soothes and re-hydrates your system.

Heartburn: Bananas have a natural antacid effect in the body,

so if you suffer from heartburn, try eating a banana for soothing relief.

Morning Sickness: Snacking on bananas between meals

helps to keep blood sugar levels up and avoid morning sickness.

Mosquito bites: Before reaching for the insect bite cream,

try rubbing the affected area with the inside of a banana skin.

Many people find it amazingly successful at reducing swelling and irritation.

Nerves: Bananas are high in B vitamins that help calm the nervous system.

Overweight and at work? Studies at the Institute of Psychology in

Austria found pressure at work leads to gorging on comfort food like chocolate

and chips. Looking at 5,000 hospital patients, researchers found the most

obese were more likely to be in high-pressure jobs. The report concluded

that, to avoid panic-induced food cravings, we need to control our

blood sugar levels by snacking on high carbohydrate foods every

two hours to keep levels steady.

Ulcers: The banana is used as the dietary food against intestinal disorders

because of its soft texture and smoothness. It is the only raw fruit

that can be eaten without distress in over-chronicler cases.

It also neutralizes over-acidity and reduces irritation by coating the lining of the stomach.

Temperature control: Many other cultures see bananas

as a "cooling" fruit that can lower both the physical and

emotional temperature of expectant mothers. In Thailand ,

for example, pregnant women eat bananas to ensure their baby is born with a cool temperature.

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD): Bananas can help

SAD sufferers because they contain the natural mood enhancer tryptophan.

Smoking &Tobacco Use: Bananas can also help people

trying to give up smoking. The B6, B12 they contain, as well as

the potassium and magnesium found in them, help the body recover

from the effects of nicotine withdrawal

Stress: Potassium is a vital mineral, which helps normalize the heartbeat

, sends oxygen to the brain and regulates your body's water balance.

When we are stressed, our metabolic rate rises, thereby reducing our

potassium levels. These can be rebalanced with the help of a high-potassium banana snack.

Strokes: According to research in The New England Journal of Medicine,

eating bananas as part of a regular diet can cut the risk of death by

strokes by as much as 40%!

Warts: Those keen on natural alternatives swear that if you want

to kill off a wart, take a piece of banana skin and place it on the wart,

with the yellow side out. Carefully hold the skin in place with a plaster or surgical tape!

So, a banana really is a natural remedy for many ills. When you

compare it to an apple, it has four times the protein, twice the

carbohydrate, three times the phosphorus, five times the vitamin A and iron,

and twice the other vitamins and minerals. It is also rich in potassium

and is one of the best value foods around So maybe its time to change

that well-known phrase so that we say, "A banana a day keeps the doctor away!"

PS: Bananas must be the reason monkeys are so happy all the time!

I will add one here; want a quick shine on our shoes?? Take the INSIDE

of the banana skin, and rub directly on the shoe...polish with dry cloth. Amazing fruit !!!

Snowcake's blog about onions
Posted On 11/11/2011 03:23:16

A friend of mine told me a story about when he was a kid he was in the hospital & nearly dying. His grandmother came to the hospital & told a family member to go buy her a large onion & a new pair of white cotton socks. She sliced the onion open then put a slice on the bottom of each of his feet & put the white cotton socks on him. In the morning when he awoke they removed the socks. The slices of onion were black & his fever was gone. The following story that someone sent to me might have some truth in it & we are going to try it this winter.

In 1919 when the flu killed 40 million people there was this Doctor that visited the many farmers to see if he could help them combat the flu. Many of the farmers and their family had contracted it and many died.

The doctor came upon this one farmer and to his surprise, everyone was very healthy. When the doctor asked what the farmer was doing that was different the wife replied that she had placed an unpeeled onion in a dish in the rooms of the home, (probably only two rooms back then). The doctor couldn't believe it and asked if he could have one of the onions and place it under the microscope. She gave him one and when he did this, he did find the flu virus in the onion. It obviously absorbed the bacteria, therefore, keeping the family healthy.
Now, I heard this story from my hairdresser in AZ. She said that several years ago many of her employees were coming down with the flu and so were many of her customers. The next year she placed several bowls with onions around in her shop. To her surprise, none of her staff got sick. It must work.. (And no, she is not in the onion business.)

The moral of the story is, buy some onions and place them in bowls around your home. If you work at a desk, place one or two in your office or under your desk or even on top somewhere. Try it and see what happens. We did it last year and we never got the flu.

For flu cure:
cut both ends off an onion put one end on a fork and then place the forked end into an empty jar...placing the jar next to the sick patient at night. It said the onion would be black in the morning from the germs...sure enough it happened just like that...the onion was a mess and I began to feel better.

Onions and garlic placed around the room saved many from the black plague years ago. They have powerful antibacterial, antiseptic properties.

One more thing, never store cut onions and consume the next day

Working on feeling better
Posted On 08/19/2011 04:40:20

Feeling better than I was. Went to the doctor and got an antibiotic for my sinuses and got my broken tooth fixed. Still havent' totally figured out the stiff neck problem but am working on that one as well. I suspect it's a combination of too much time on the computer and too much stress from certain persons I have to work with at times whose sole purpose for living is to make everyone's life a living hell. I do realize that I am supposed to rise above these people. They are put here for a reason. Their insecuraties make them put everyone down to bring themselves up. I've been told that the peope around us are a mirror that we are supposed to look into and learn from. So this is what I will try to figure out. Where is there such ugliness in me and how do I remove it it I find it. It must be a female thing I think because I nocitice the men don't have this need to be the all knowing one in charge of everyone else. They just do their jobs and go home and try to dance around the woman who are making all the problems. So I am a woman and if I am like this I hope to God He removes this from me. It's a miserable thing to work around. I don't even think they know they're doing it. I sure don't see it in myself; but I sure can see it in other woman. Not all, but most. Fortunately since I got transferred most of the workers are men. What a difference from the back stabbing bitches I used to work with. I think they got more people fired to feed their own egos than one can even imagine over the years. So maybe King Soloman was right after all. I used to think he was a real male chauvenist ass, but maybe he really was a very wise man after all. I know when the woman are not their we all get along, have no problems and everyone is happy. Then if even one of them is their she's running her mouth immediently about this isn't right and that isn't right and why don't our boss do this or that or the other. And then he's all stressed out and put down and it just trickles down to everyone. Then they'll spy on everyone and come up to you and say; "Have you seen so and so?" Where are they, what are they doing?" I say; "I don't know, I've been too busy working to notice where they are or what they're doing." How could you possibly know what the other people are doing if your busy working. We don't even work in the same areas? And why do they care so much anyway. She say; "Does the boss know he's missing?" I don't know, I guess he probably does, why don't you go ask him yourself?" And then they always want to complain about the schedule, or the work assighnments. They're always getting cheated or someone else is getting cheated. They could have done it so much better if they were in charge. No wonder my neck keeps going out on me. Jealous, manipulating, back stabbing bitches spreading misery wherever they go. And playing the men like cheap guitars, finely tuned to kiss their asses. I can't believe how stupid woman make men. It's like their brains suddenly stop working and they just sit their with a stupid grin on their faces. I guess my son is right we did evolve from monkeys. This would explain it for sure.

Feeling Bad These Days
Posted On 07/31/2011 05:38:19

I havent't been feeling too well lately. One of the things I hate about getting old is that I always wonder to myself; "Well, is this it?"

But then I start feeling alright again and I feel like I dodged another bullet.

Lately my stomach bothers me a lot and I'm tired all the time. Having trouble sleeping but fall asleep off and on all day from lack of sleep. I'm all out of whack. But I'm trying to get back on track again.

One of my co-workers is leaving and that makes me feel horrible. I mostly like the guy. He's ok, ya know. He doesn't put people down to feel better about himself like some people I know. He doesn't try to figure out how to feather his own nest at the expense of the rest of us; like some people I know. He doesn't try to suck up to the boss so he can get away with crap and put the screws to the rest of us; like some people I know. He doesn't have an attitude and, or a chip on his shoulder; like some people I know. He doesn't go on and on and on about how tired he is or how sick he is or how hard his job is as if to say; "I'm the only one who has it bad." Like someone else I know. So overall he's a one in a million kind a guy. So what kind of creep will they replace him with? Sometimes I think they take out adds that say; "Only total creeps need apply." I shouldn't really say that because most of the people are ok and I don't want to loose any of them. So when one who is an ok kind of person is leaving only to be replaced with who knows what. It's a sad day for me. I've worked around people that actually make me physically ill they're so insane and horrible. I hope to God they don't hire another one of those.

Rising above
Posted On 07/26/2011 06:35:38

The other night I woke up singing the most beautiful heartfelt praise song to Jesus and my mouth just kept singing even though I was awake, and then I felt electricity coursing through my body as it awakened and it scared me so bad I became fully awake and stopped in a panic. I wish I hadn't wimped out; I might have saw some angels.

I remember when a man I met as a patient years ago told me he could do Astral Projection. I didn't pay it much attention since it was not something I knew anything about anyway. Then later when he was discharged he came into my body and I became him. And I could hear him laughing in my head. And then he left. It was very weird. Years later my mother-in-law died. She was a beautiful person who always told me she wished she could do the work I do, but her husband would not allow her. So a week or so after she died I felt her enter my body at work just like the man who did Astral Projection and suddenly I was a different person. I felt so much more loving and accepting of others. I felt like a different person, but this time I don't know if she left or not. I was a better person after that, more tolerent, patient and caring with my patients.

It just makes me wonder sometimes if we are who we think we are. We think we are a unique individual but in reality we could be a combination of a multitude of individuals who have merged with us because of a common bond or desires. And we could keep on becoming more and more like a snowball rolling down a hill. And I saw that so much when I worked in a psychiatric hospital years ago. People who had done drugs and alcahol talked about people living in their heads who had names and would tell them to do bad things. So they call that demon possesion. Well, Christians do anyway. Health care professiionals just shoot them up with Thorazine which does temporarily get rid of the voices and calm the patient down, but it's just something to wonder about. When I woke up in the middle of the night the other day singing beautiful praises to Jesus; I didn't recognize myself; it was like an angel had taken me over and the depth of her love for our Savior was awe inspiring. I want to be all that she is. It felt so right, so above all of the insanity of this realm of existance we live in. And maybe that's the key to finding it; not to be afraid to go their. Not to be afraid to let go of all of this and become that spiritual essence of love and devotion thast I felt take me over the other night. Because it would be letting go of the ego. The need to feel like we are unique and seperate from everything and everyone else when in reality maybe we are not as unique and special as we think we are.

Emptying Out My Heart
Posted On 07/08/2011 01:51:06

Sometimes when you get old; a lonliness just settles over you like dust in an empty house. So I try to keep busy so it doesn't happen. This is why I work so much. When I'm working; I feel alive. I don't think about how old I am or how; so many of the people I knew and loved have gone on, and then wonder where they've gone on too. My children are grown with families of their own now. They used to find everything I said so interesting and important. Like gospel, ya know? Now I'm just a babbling old lady they tolerate. At least that's how they make you feel some times. So I don't go around them too much any more. There's this invisible gap between us. You can't see it; it's just their. Plus everything they do and say; I've either done and said myself a long time ago or I've seen someone else do or say a long time ago and I pretty much know how the stories end. The things they get all excited about; I got all excited about too and their kids will too and the kids after that. But then one day all the hopes and dreams and plans are a thing of the past. It just is what it is. So I keep two adorable little puppies around to make me feel needed and loved. And they certainly do that. Sometimes they cause me to burn the candle at both ends, but at least I'm not sitting around thinking and dwelling on things I have no control over anyway. And sleep is so wonderful when you work like I do. That bed is heaven on Earth most days. I do hope though, that there really is a new glorified body and a new glorified Earth. I need something to look forward to. See, when you're young you always have things to look forward to, but when your old; the only thing there is to look forward to is death. So we try to imagine it as a really good thing and hope to God we're right about that. But for now my puppy is squeeling for mommy to come and pick him up as I put him in his cage so I could type a while. He and his brother love to sit in my lap on a pillow while I am on the computer or watching tv. I watched Sir Lancerlot with Richard Gere and  Shawn Connery today. Boy was that a good movie! So until the next time I need to empty out my heart. You know like when you have to empty out the trash bin on your computer. What do they call that; The Recycle Bin? Bye bye.
