HooaH! You stay up for 16 hours.We can stay up for days on end.You take a warm shower to help you wake up.We go days or weeks without running water.You complain of a "headache", and call in sick.We get shot at as others are hit, and we keep moving forward.You put on your anti war/don't support the troops shirt, and go meet up with your friends.We still fight for your right to wear that shirt.You make sure your cell phone is in your pocket.We clutch the cross hanging around our chain next to our dog tags.You talk trash about your "buddies" that aren't with you.We may not see some of our buddies again.You walk down the beach, staring at all the pretty girls.We patrol the streets, searching for insurgents and terrorists.You complain about how hot it is.We wear heavy gear, not daring to take off our helmets to wipe our brow.You go out to lunch, and complain because the restaurant got your order wrong.We don't get to eat today.Your maid makes your bed and washes your clothes.We wear the same things for weeks, but make sure our weapons are clean.You go to the mall and get your hair redone.We don't have time to brush our teeth today.You're angry because your class ran 5 minutes over.We are told we will be held over an extra 2 months.You call your girlfriend and set a date for tonight.We wait for the mail to see if there is a letter from home.You hug and kiss your girlfriend, like you do everyday.We hold letters close and smell our love's perfume.You roll your eyes as a baby cries.We get a letter with pictures of a new child, and wonder if we'll ever meetYou criticize your government, and say that war never solves anything.We see the innocent tortured and killed by their own people and remember why we are fighting.You hear the jokes about the war, and make fun of men like him.We hear the gunfire, bombs and screams of the wounded.You see only what the media wants you to see.We may see broken bodies lying around him.You are asked to go to the store by your parents. You don't.We do exactly what we are told.You stay at home and watch TV.We take whatever time we get to call, write home, sleep, and eat.You crawl into your soft bed, with down pillows, and get comfortable.We try to sleep but get woken by mortars and helicopters all night long.You sit there and judge him, saying the world is probably a worse place because of men like him.If only there were more men like us.If you support your troops, repost this with a "HOOAH!"If you don't support your troops well, then don't repost, it's not like you know the men and women that are dying to preserve your rights.

I've been married to my husband Al for 34 years, we are Army "lifers"...my husband retired from the military and I was the camp follower...haha. We are blessed with the greatest son and daughter, Chris and Laura, their spouses, Cindy and Rex, and six beautiful grandchildren, Zyra, Jodici, Kaeden, Dion, Bjorna and Santino...Eg elska thig! I have many interests and a few new ones I would like to try; stained glass is one.
