Happy Monday
Posted On 10/29/2012 11:32:39

Good Monday morning to all. I hope this week is a good one for all of us. My thoughts go out to all of the people in Sandy's way. Go somewhere safe if you can.

FOR CRIPES SAKE WHAT IS OUR COUNTRY COMING TO
Posted On 10/26/2012 06:36:03

For goodness sake listen to FOX NEWS I do not care if you are Democrat, Republican or any other political party. This is not about politics. This is about what America has become .Four Americans are dead, two could have been saved, our government allowed them to die. A decision was made. What the hell were they thinking? There is never a time when any American asks for help to save their lives or others that we should be told no. Why isn't the media other than FOX Reporting this? please watch and then you ask your local media what is going on. Ask the white house what happened. This not faux news this is the cover up of the deaths of good  people.

Biden is worse than a bunch of malarky

I watched the VP debate last night , I should say Biden's over the top blustering, ugly facial expression, his hyenna laugh and rude interuptions and remarks  altogether an inappropriate show. In all of the presidential debates since JFK ,I have  never seen anyone make such a  fool of himself as our current VP and to think he is a heartbeat form the presidency. SCARY!

Brrrrrrr!

Looking out side , I think my plans are going to change, instead of an auction and shopping I think chicken noodle soup sounds good, I would go to the library but I would have to go out in the gray overcast cold looking day. Oh My Goodness I have turned into a gimpy wimp!!

The Storm

Surviving the storm
Means standing strong,
Unshakeable against the winds,
Letting the mist from the waves calm your spirit.

Loving life past and [resent and the future will be what it will be
Posted On 10/01/2012 03:16:14

Resting up after a hectic weekend. Another grandchild got married. Only this time we did the food for 250 people. I realized I am getting too old for this stuff. The mind is willing, but the body says go fly a kite. Well no kites around  so I did the work. Potato salad and Italian salad was my part of the meal. Son did the meat and another grand motehr did the desserts, the grooms mother did the beans.

I do enjoy these occasions when family and friends come together, but two in two weeks was a tad much. We laughed , visited , hugged,  and caught up on everything. Loved watching the little grands and great grands dancing and  so happy. both weddings were  wonderful and  now we get to wait until next August for the next one.

Now I sit here remembering the past, the people I would have loved to see there..There is nothing like going back in time, leaving out the sad stuff, the bad stuff. Keeping the good memoties in  my heart is the best. As we age, more and more of our lives are memories. it is a wonderful thing to keep making them.

I feel so sorry for the people that think of themselves and close out the world and their families, only remembering the bad and the sad. They lose out on so much. the day will come when when they realize too late what they have lost out on.

The Haircut
Posted On 09/14/2012 06:11:36

One day a florist went to a barber for a haircut.

After the cut, he asked about his bill, and the barber replied, 'I
cannot accept money from you , I'm doing community service this week.' The
florist was pleased and left the shop.

When the barber went to open his shop the next morning, there was a
'thank you' card and a dozen roses waiting for him at his door.

Later, a cop comes in for a haircut, and when he tries to pay his bill,
the barber again replied, 'I cannot accept money from you , I'm doing
community service this week.' The cop was happy and left the shop.

The next morning when the barber went to open up, there was a 'thank
you' card and a dozen donuts waiting for him at his door.

Then a Congressman came in for a haircut, and when he went to pay his
bill, the barber again replied, 'I can not accept money from you. I'm doing
community service this week.' The Congressman was very happy and left the
shop.

The next morning, when the barber went to open up, there were a dozen
Congressmen lined up waiting for a free haircut.

And that, my friends, illustrates the fundamental difference between the
citizens of our country and the politicians who run it.

The holidays are stressful that is a given. I feel it in pain, my body decides to hug itself or something because my muscles say don't move. While I am  trying to make "goodies",  my body is making "ouchies". So I have to time everything to make between muscle spasms. Makes life interesting, irritating and sometimes downright STRESSFUL!

Of  course it is also the time for thoughts of family. The sadness of loss can creep up with warning. So I try to Ward it off by the laughing memories before the sad ones get a head start. Like son Lee saying," Mom this is good coffee, but it coulda used another scoop." Or Jenny say,"Grandma can I clean the fridge." Or my hubby Marce saying,"Is this going to be a pretty baby or an ugly one," when we would do a new metal design. To be honest we made one design that did resemble a bullhead fish , When we were asked to make a  butterfly. That one was definitely our ugly baby. Or when my mother was upset, she never raised her voice. She whistled instead! We would all go UhUh! moms mad and  we would "fix" the problem. I never heard her yell or swear, just bang the kettles  and whistle.

My dad making mulligan stew when he was home. Now dad was not often home, he had what my mom called an "itchy foot". Dad taking us to a ball game or fishing. We knew we would be on "vacation" when he was home. Or my three older set of siblings that were grown and and off on their own by the time I came along. Even though they had children of their own, I was treated  like a special  jewel in their lives. I was their "Tootie" Somewhere in my heart, I am still Tootie.Thank goodness for the  memories.
