Had a busy day for a while, first I was canning some pickles when Son Tom called and asked if I could watch the kids for a while. Okay so a while turned into a few hours. SoI made them hambuger hotdish and Pork and beans for lunch (I let them pick the food). Got the pickles canned in between " hey Grandma' every few  minutes. Played a game of checkers with 8 year old Ryker and the stinker beat me the first game. A natural checker player I guess. Listening to FOX NEWS and the forecast for New Orleans, that sure is not good. Stay safe all you people in the storms way.

Remember that song? I have it playing in my head for some reason lately. Going stir crazy or just plain bonkers from being inside in this beautiful summer weather is enough to drive one bonkers. Between the nasty odors  coming from an old old building being VERY SLOWLY torn down and the threat of West Nile Virus in our area I am staying inside a lot

It is the first day of school in our area in minnesota, So the first thing I hear this morning is the school bus coming into town too fast. If there were children out there the driver could not have stopped.

Yesterday I ordered two blouses  and went on the hunt for a size smaller slacks and I did find them at Kohls.Love shopping on line. I have two grand children getting married in September , so granny has to dress up.

It has been some week for me.  Starting on Monday  August 13th was a sad day, its been eight years that my beautiful granddaughter said no more tests, no more treatment, at 16 she was tired of the fight to beat cancer. her only fear of death was that she would not be forgotten, and we make sure she isn't.

Tuesday was Minnesota primary and I was election judge. 25% of our village voted, which I guess is pretty good for a primary.

On Wednesday I canned three pints of pickles , thanks  to friend for the cukes.

Thursday was a day of baking cookies and panof  peach cobbler bars

Friday night I watched three of my grands for a few hours to give mom and dad a break. Always a great time.

Today just doing some reading and watching televsion for the political speeches. So far Ryan's speech was a good one. I was surprised that CNN actually  showed the entire speech.
