Jellybean followed me today as I walked toward the back yard. He was a,ready outside. He stayed close by the entire time I sat in my lawn chair.

I see life more realistically today:

as a series of days

that leave their mark on us and

become memories.

Time marches on inexorably and with it,

both beautiful and less beautiful moments remain.

Sometimes

I wish I could be a child again,

to feel that sincerity, innocence,

and joy once more.

I miss this world,

seen through a child’s eyes, very much.

But we cannot turn back time.

All that remains is to keep a childlike heart

and consciously enjoy every day…

and to grow older with dignity.

Saw earlier today, we need around 16" rain to get out of this drought. The rivers and creeks are very low now..
