SEVENTH STREET 8 (NOSEY NEIGHBOR)
We had a big yard on Seventh Street, it was surrounded by oleanders. There was one neighbor that lived right through a little gap in the oleanders.. we could walk through it and be in their yard. They were an older couple with a daughter living with them.. the daughter was a menance to our lives..She was such a stinker to put it mildly. She hated our animals so much, I don't know why except that maybe Fred didn't take too kindly to her (she was always snooping in our yard and geting attacked by him). Anyway her name was June.. She would take her hose and spray our dogs and Fred all the time, Fred didn't like this too much. He might have loved the water if she didn't spray him with it like it was a fire hose! Well us kids got together and devised a little surprise for June for the next time she tried to walk through the gap and hose down our pets. We had a mannequin's head and we took a shirt and pants.. stuffed them with old dirty clothes.. (had plenty of those on hand). We put this dummy together and took a big knife and we put it right in the chest of the dummy and poured ketchup all around it.. haha..devious minds at work! We put the carefully crafted dummy right in the gap in the oleanders just for June to find on her next menancing trip with her fire hose..lol! She didn't let us down.. she came to spray the animals for her daily dirty deed. She found our little surprise (we were hiding and watching the whole thing) oh boy she screamed so loud.. dropped her hose and ran in her house screaming all the way.. She called the police who came out and were actually amused by our little trap.. They told us to be cool and don't scare the life out of June anymore... lol! We never saw that pesky fire hose of hers again.. (Or her either..lol)!

SEVENTH STREET 7 (THE BEE HIVES)
I mentioned the bee hives in my last blog.. oh the bee hives! My Dad thought he would buy a bunch of bee hives and then we would have our own honey.. lol! He bought some bee hives and everything was cool at first.. then they started to fly out and build nests in the oleanders. We had so many bees you thought your ears were ringing all the time Well the bees would sting us kids all the time when we were outside playing.. got to be a drag! My Mom (nutty) decided to take care of the bees when my Dad wasn't home. First she went outside and got the water hose and sprayed all the bees like a mad woman! Bees were flying everywhere mad as hell!! Us kids were runnning for cover.. I know I got stung on my tongue my ears you name it.. We looked like martians...So.. my mom (the nut) waits a few hours and goes out after the bees have settled back in and lights them on fire... Refer to what happened when she turned the hose loose on them...lol!! Well my Dad finally got rid of the bee hives and at least I know I'm not allergic to bee stings!! Is it a wonder I'm alive today? LOL!!

SEVENTH STREET 6 ( THE OFFICE)
Well living on Seventh Street my Dad was kind of a bum.. he liked to call himself am entrepeneur LOL.. He decided one day he was going to build a houseboat and be a carpenter.. (My Dad never finished one project in his life). Well the building began.. he would work on this prolect almost everyday, it never looked like a houseboat to me.. looked like a little room..Of course Fred was always getting in the way and the chickens and oh the bee hives.. well that's another story.. Anyway my Dad took about 4 months to get this thing he called a houseboat looking like a little room.. never understood that part..Finally as usual he gave up on the project leaving a little room in the backyard. Us kids thought.. this is great.. a place to party..lol!! We would go in the "houseboat" (which us kids finally ending up calling the office) Don't know why we called it that either LOL! It became our party room / makeout room... we had some neighbors across the big empty field that first were our enemies.. (dirt clod fights and all of that). My two brothers hooked up finally with the two girls they were twins.. and I hooked up with their brother.. I was about 12 I guess maybe 11 anyway we would sneak in the "office" and makeout all the time... just kissing.. lol! Their little bratty sister would spy on us and snitch us off and their parents would ground them. My Dad would say to go pick a switch and he was going to whip us.. HA.. don't tell a kid in trouble to go pick their own switch.. We would come back with an old brittle switch that broke on the first whack!! Anyway for as long as we lived there the "houseboat was called the "office" and it was our party room... Had a lot of fun in there!! LOL!!

SEVENTH STREET 5 (SCHOOL AND FRED OH MY)
Well the time came when I finally had to go to school.. Monterey Park school.. a little school that only went up to the fourth grade. The first day was something else.. being such a tiny school there was one classroom for each grade. So i got stuck in a classroom with my bratty little brother. Being the same age we were in the same grade.. What a nightmare.. How embarassing to have to speak up or do anything special or fun with your bratty little brother ready to pounce...Oh not to mention the first day our goose Fred followed us to school.. lol! The other kids were freaking but one of us just grabbed him by the bandana and took him home.. this was a daily occurence I might add! We had so many animals.. birds and geese and chickens and ducks oh my.. lol! The teacher decided it would be fun to have a field day at our house to look at all the pretty birds.. BIG MISTAKE.. Fred was not cooperating with this idea! Back to my little brother.. at recess he decided I needed a good hard punch in the gut everyday... The field day.. Fred got out of the house where we put him for the kids safety and on the attack he went.. all the while the myna bird was squaking profanities at the top of her lungs.. School.. not the best first day.. lol!
