Once upon a saddened heart a memory I would find
skies of blue and shades of you dance within my mind.
Frozen dreams and summer scenes beckon me with splendor
days forever I recall a time of love and wonder.
But upon a second glance my heart so longed to show
a chance to love you in this life I would never know.

Cinderella, Cinderella Where have you been... Have you been to the valley and the city of sin?
Have you given your heart to all things brand new... do you run with the Jester has he made you a fool?
Where is that girl of innocence and youth... Sadness for eyes a reflection of truth.
Cinderella, Cinderella Where have you been... Have you been to the valley and the city of sin?
Cinderella, Cinderella quickly my child... Such beauty you have but just for awhile.

My secret told within this poem bound within my soul...
for it was on a darkened night I first met Father Poe.
And like a father he spoke of me proud to give me life.
Tonight I visit one as he... the poet you call "Night".
"Never More" said I... behold I live again.
Alive within this verse and rhyme born of ink and pen.

I pray the rain come tumbling down... to soothe the souls and saddened frown.
To cleanse the pain of those who cry... to wash away the reasons why.
To take away the sound of sorrow and send them love come tomorrow.
In dark despair what do we gain? I pray The Lord... send Heavens Rain.

The sky was sprinkled white with sugar and each one spoke of life.
I smiled as heaven sang it's song and moonlight filled the night.
The goodness danced across the sky as night came home to play...
and the peace within my heart rivaled that of day.
Never more shall sadness fill this joyful soul of mine...
for solace in this gentle night my heart did surely find.

Not knowing where the day would go or if the sun would shine...
But still I walked the way I would not knowing what I might find.
I traveled far and I traveled near from here to back again...
I've seen the world and loved a girl making foe and friend.
But never would I have found these things save a poem was spoken...
for wisdom and the worth of man begins with roads less taken.

Against an ever darkening sky In my mind I question why.
I've watched the dream come and go I've felt the heart beat ever slow.
I will not let the sadness win I face each morning once again.
Soon a smile I wear once more and every dream an open door.

Fallen angel don't you cry broken wings won't let you fly.
Love has come to set you free you're wings I'll mend come fly with me.
Fallen angel don't you sigh I'll be forever by your side.
Fallen angel cry no more the world is yours till heavens door.

I saw it first in broken flight with wings a frayed in dark of night.
No words were spoken except to say... you saw me not now look away.
It's eyes were yellow a speckled gold it spoke a language from days of old.
My heart beat fast as fear closed in what was this creature in forest glen.
When I was a child I saw darkness fall...
