"The Purpose of Life"...The Final Cut...a poem by Night.2011
Posted On 12/17/2011 09:46:53

God of mercy, Father of light,

Almighty God and Creator of life.

A question I ask on this lonely night...

What is the purpose of life?

Were here for awhile

and then were gone...

Like the words

of an old forgotten song.

Our days go by

like dust in the wind...

How soon we wish

we were young again.

Children laugh

and old men die...

Graves are filled

and woman cry.

The green grass withers

and leaves turn brown...

They pass from this world

without a sound.

Babies are born

and people rejoice...

Brought into this world

without a choice.

From young to old

much too fast...

And before we know it

our life is past.

Our life's a book,

a short story at best...

When the last page is turned,

then we rest.

Ashes to ashes

and dust to dust...

Now we live

and die we must.

Brevity of life

and purpose of man...

Our time is running

like an hourglass of sand.

To be immortal

and die never...

Oh how I wish

I could live forever.

So what is

the purpose of life...

But to live for God

and to die for Christ.

Thank you and God bless...Night 2010.

"The Children of Love"...a poem by Night.
Posted On 12/17/2011 10:13:56

Compassion and kindness

are the offspring of love...

A child's child

from heaven above.

For love's like a child

innocent in youth...

speaking always

the words of truth.

For out of their mouths

babes will speak.

And nothing selfish

will they seek.

For love's not a feeling

but an act of good.

It's doing always

what you know you should.

Simple and kind

and always giving...

it's how to live

in this life we're living.

This truth I've learned

from God above.

That compassion and kindness

are the children of love.

And the children know

in this life we're living...

that love defined

is the act of giving.

Thank you and God bless...Night.2010

"If Any Man Hear My Voice"
Posted On 12/17/2011 09:37:46

(Hebrews 8:10,12) -"For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord. I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts; and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people".

"For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins will I remember no more".

(Proverbs 1:23-33) -"Turn ye at my reproof; behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you. I will make known my words unto you.

Because i have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;

But ye have set at naught all my counsel, and would have none of my reproof:

I will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh:

When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you.

Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me;

For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the Lord:

They would none of my counsel; they despised all my reproof.

Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.

For the turning away of the simple shall slay them; and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.

But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil".

(Psalm 53:2)- "God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God".

(Romans 14:11,12)- "For it is written, as I live saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God".

(Revelation 3:19-22)- "As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten; be zealous therefore, and repent. Behold, I stand at the door, and knock; if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and sup with him, and he with me.

To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I overcame, and am set down with my Father in His throne.

He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches."

"Seasons"...a poem by Night.2011
Posted On 12/11/2011 07:59:04

Seasons come

and seasons go.

And that's what life

tells me so.

Like the sun

that fades from view...

so the time

spent with you.

Like the rain

that soothes my fear...

I miss the season

when you were here.

Never more

to see your face...

A journeys end

to loves embrace.

For everything there's a season...and for every season...a reason why.

Thank you and may God bless...Night.2011

"Joyfull Eyes"...a poem by Night.2011
Posted On 12/10/2011 09:33:19

Where does all the time go...

I stop and wonder why?

Another year come and gone...

how the days fly by.

Was'nt it just yesterday

When I kissed my first girl.

Ah...the joy of youth...

a young boy and his world.

Welcome to the real world

I thought I heard them say.

Things were so much simpler

way back in the day.

No regrets for this man

for I am happy and so free.

I still look thru joyful eyes

of that little boy in me.

Thank you and may God bless...Night.2011

" A Christmas Story"...a poem by Night.2011

More Joy in The Lord...Amen...!

When I was just a child

what a magical time it was.

The stockings were filled with little toys

hung with joy and love.

Sometimes we'd get to sip on egg-nog

the food was hot and plenty.

The Christmas lights of many colors

shined on presents many.

A little manger with baby Jesus

sat on pure white snow.

Oh how we dreamed of Christmas morning...

our faces all a-glow.

So many years have come and gone

when I was just a child...

I still remember that little manger

and how it made me smile.

Remember to keep joy in your hearts this Christmas...for long ago a baby who would be King was born unto us.

Thank you and God bless you all...Night.2011

"The Old Man"...a poem by Night.2011
Posted On 11/27/2011 01:19:09

I39m right here...!

He told me to be grateful

and to thank the Lord above...

To never take a day for granted

or fail to show my love.

He told me things would change

as the years swept by...

So if you love her- tell her

and here's the reason why.

To every road there is an end

it's marked by God and time.

The mountain top you'll never reach

if you don't start the climb.

Don't ever let a day go by

or even waste a minute...

For God has given in your hands

a life to live...so live it...!

Thank you and may God bless...Night.2011

"Blessed is The Doer"
Posted On 11/25/2011 12:17:46
By: Night Date: 11/20/2011

( 1 Corinthians 15:10) - "But by the grace of God I am what I am; and by His grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all; yet not I, but the grace which was with me."

( James 1:25) - "But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therin, he bieng not a forgetfull hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed."

( Luke 11:28) - "But he said, yea rather, blessed are they that hear the Word of God, and keep it."

( Matthew 7:21) - "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father."

Doing is the very essence of blessedness, the highest manifestation of the indwelling Holy spirit, and the grace of God...therefore the fullest enjoyment of the life of God.

May the grace of God be with you all, Amen.

Thank you and God bless...Night.

"That God May be Glorified"
Posted On 11/24/2011 10:01:50

(1 Peter 4:11) - "If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever, Amen."

- Work is not done for its own sake, its value consists in the object it attains. This is the one purpose of God, the greatest worker in heaven, the source and master of all work, that the glory of His love and power and blessing may be shown.

- This is the one purpose of Christ, the great worker on earth in human nature, the example and leader of all our work. This is the great purpose of the Holy Spirit, the power that works in us, or, as Peter says here, "the ability which God giveth".

- Let us believe firmly and unceasingly that the Holy Spirit does dwell in us as the power from on high. Let this be the one end of our lives...to glorify God; in living to work for Him, "as of the ability which God giveth", and winning souls to know and live for His glory.

May the grace of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you always. Thank you and God bless...Night.2011
