Yep----That is me. One of my hardest things about my move into a senior living apartment was losing my very extensive library. Remember buying those books with the thought that I would have time to read them when I retired. Well, now most all of them went to the Salvation Army and the Goodwill. I just couldn't bring myself to throw them out as I no longer had room for them all. Once a bookie always a bookie!
Throw back Thursday: Perhaps one of the most ICONIC movies of 1977 was SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER and it's follow up movie STAYING ALIVE. With the movie GREASE John Travolta became a major movie star and the BEE GEES hit the big time in the record business!
"Night Fever" is a disco song, written and performed by the Bee Gees. Recorded April 1977 in Château d'Hérouville, France and 1977 September Criteria Studios...
Back in my day in Wichita, Kansas we use to drag DOUGLAS. It would start at a Sonic like drive-in around the 1200 block of West Douglas, go through downtown on Douglas, with the old VICTORY movie theater on our right going east turn right on George Washington about three blocks east of the railroad bridge we passed under (about the 7 or 8 hundred block of East Douglas) and end at another drive in located on the corner of Pawnee and Hillside; grab a burger, fries and a drink and turn around and go back to where we started for more drinks and a malt. We would park at night in down town and toot the horn, hollor and wave at our friends as they went by. Late 1950's and early 1960's. The cops kept an eye on us but didn't bother us teens much unless we got too roady. Gas cost 17 cents a gallon!

I just deleted two more friends that have fallen out of sight, one since 2013 and the other one since June of last year. I keep a short list of friends; usually around 40 maybe I'll go as high as 50. I want to keep my friends list on here short so that it is manageable and I can post frequently. I may miss a few days every now and then but I am loyal and try to be informative with what is going on in my life so I am not just shooting out graphics and Salutations I am sharing myself and I like reading about your special goings on. Thanks for allowing me to read a peice of your lives in your greetings and post. BIG HUGS TO YOU ALL------ Ron----
I am doing the man thing. Here in the USA it is MARCH MADNESS. Yep that is when everyone in this country goes mad over the National Basketball Championship Tournament. People turn into their College University colors and get dressed in weird cloths and costums to show their support for their favorite colleges.
I had a depressing day Thursday at the NCAA March Madness in support of my BIG 12 colleges. Iowa State--- One and done a 3 seed beaten by a 14 seed UAB Baylor (My Team)--- One and done a 3 seed beaten by a 14 seed Georgia State Texas--- One and done a 11 seed beaten by a 6 seed Butler (NOT BIG 12 team) SMU---One and done a 6 seed beaten by a 11 seed UCLA My bracket went down the chute on the 1st day of the NCAA Basket Ball Tournament. SIGH! The Big 12 has 7 teams out of 10 in the Tourny and the other teams played yesterday. We, THE BIG 12, was suspose to have one of the best leagues in the counrty. Crossed my fingers for Kansas University (WON), Oklahoma (WON) BOOMER SOONER! (My mom and dad both retired from Oklahoma University so I root for them as well) , Oklahoma State (LOST) and West Virgina (WON) who played Friday. Then there is my old Missouri Valley school of my younger years the Wichita State University Wheat Shockers! (WON)
My Baylor Womens Basket ball team, a 2 seed, won their game and advanced to the second round being played on Sunday.
I just deleted about 6 names from my friends list. I really never like to do this but at least 3 had not loged on since 2013. One since september of last year and another since before that. When we have this site we all devote our time and engery in it. We share our lives, hunt our graphic files to put up pictures and greetings and so on. AND YES we may never meet each other but lasting friendships can develope with some one here in the US as well as across the sea or ocean. I have two more I am on the fence with but with those I have removed I have experienced enough pain today. Now here I am a guy and I get alot of sexy pictures sent my way in my guestbook. KEEP EM COMING!----grins! Now I maybe almost 73 years old but I am not DEAD! haaa haa haaa!

Tis the time for me to bring ouy me IRISH blood line. Yep There is some Irish in my back ground from my grand mother on my mothers side of the family. Now she as a red head, Wonder where that hair color came from? Any way she was half Irish and half Scotts from my GREAT grand parents. Now she was a daughter of a farm family just south of Norman, Oklahoma Near GOLDSBY and Wahington, Oklahoma. My moms father was a full blood Choctaw Indian who had the farm next door to the WHITES (my grand mother parents last name). Now my grand father was one handsome guy as a young man. Robert Taylor, the screen actor, comes to mind as to appearance. My grand mother died of cancer when I was about two years old so I only knew her from pictures. So Tomorrow on the 17th of March I will proudly wear me Irish green and eat a baked potato which the Irish potato famine caused my great grand parents to migrate to America. So ends a part of my families history. My moms mother had ten children that lived and one that died at a very young age from pnemonia he was about age 2 I think.
