Master of the Universe
I drift through time like a castaway who floats on a piece of wreckage in the ocean.
In front of me the ocean
Behind me the ocean
To my right
To my left
the ocean
time
stops
I do not know where I am or where I am going
I am taken on currents and everyday is the same
sometimes it rains,
sometimes the Sun brutalizes me
sometimes the stillness pounds my brain
the ocean is endless
it is my universe
my reality
Madness sets me free from this timeless prison
I am powerful, I walk in endless dreams
I am
god
Without even the wave of a bored hand
strange cities are swept into existence
Without a tear shed
they are destroyed
I am no longer time's prisoner
I am its master
Worlds collide
I watch
laugh
cry
In great power there is
solitude and sorrow
no wonder god
stays
his
hand
The universe, our world, ourselves
All that is
All that was
All that is to be
Has its part in the grand comedy
I drift through time
Like a castaway
who floats on
a piece of
wreckage
in the
ocean

Love is a hidden mystery
Love is found, love is bound Love brings about its gift of life Love is true, love is blue Love is a hidden mystery
Life is gain, and gain is loss But the joy we feel goes on and on Pain is a reminder of how much we care Its season is short Spring is soon here
Tears fall in our hearts A Gloomy rain Our memories planted there with care Love warms our hearts in its gentle way Joy is our harvest, a hidden mystery
The cycle neither begins nor does it end We are eternal and so are our friends The love we gain is never lost Love is found, love is bound Love is a hidden mystery

Enough Already!
Tumble, rumble, grumble and groan Reap, and keep all you sow Toil, boil, spoil your day Stuff of fluff gone in a puff All this will never be enough
Keeps you going, keeps you mowing Their rope is towing your life they're stowing Slice, dice, put you on ice Maybe there is a simpler life
Need and greed a bizarre creed More stores, more stuff, you can never have too much Give away, stay away Everybody has to pay
One man, one plan Someone has to take a stand Want less, don't press Sit down and take a rest To have enough is the best
One man, one plan Someone has to take a stand Want less, don't press A simple life gives you rest

Death Stalks the Dead
I am staked, watched, wary of every corner Now I see a dark vision in the shadows Then I feel a whisper of burning breath It is the scavenger of the dead
There is no escape except into life Death stalks the dead Life hides me in its truth Life feeds me from its juice Life prepares me for the race The stalk Inevitable
With all my strength I run into life It is the fear of death that drives me The beaters pound their drums They stamp the earth with their feet I flee from the dark quite hole where I hide Panting I race To find life, my life, my truth A dead dusty throat that burns for The juice of life Fear quenched Peace
Death stalks the dead, but I am not yet I am hidden in my thirst for more I yearn for more I dream of more I am more Only because I still believe there is more

The Rock
Inside the rock is a crystal vase without a rose But the rock is strong it protects the vase
Are you ok? They need me to be Yes, I am Oh, good, I had a horrible day Really, tell me
The rock has no purpose other than strength Many anchor themselves the vase has no rose
The earth shakes The vase shatters Are you ok? They need me to be Yes, I am
The rock has its purpose but does not have a rose The rock stands forever inside a pile of shards
Are you ok? They need me to be The rock does not need a rose It no longer has a vase Yes, I am

Leaving No Shadow
my crystal tube is beautiful Its cold light leaving no shadows Pressing my face to the wall I see A world the color of laughter
Warm hearts glow together, grow together Yesterday is born before my eyes And memories slide past me fading
I am surrounded by ragged little children They look at me with dirty faces and hollow eyes Their hands clutch at me, wanting something But I have nothing to give them
My tears form muddy little streaks on their faces I am swallowed by sorrow, but not whole Its teeth slowly grind me into little melancholy pieces
Floating on a raft of clutching hands I drift on a sea of dirty faces and hollow eyes Leaving behind sorrow, sorrow is my destination

Pain is a worm eating at your soul Nibbles away from the inside out Cutting perfect little circles That spiral Making room for its silky bed Where it sleeps and changes waiting Bitterness now fills the void Copyright © Robin Mitchell

Midnight is not yet
Give me just a moment's rest Before my journey ends The end seems so far away As far as my next breath
The river flows so gently here I really want to stay But memories keep floating past And in the distance fade
As I close my eyes to sleep They call for me to wake The river flowing on and on I should be on my way
I wonder if the spirit shades Come out at night to play Do you think they'd let me join them Or make me go away
Now I lay me down to sleep Let all the voices fade In the shadows spirits call For me to join their game
I have not heard the clock bell strike And midnight is not yet I haven't traveled far enough To earn a night of rest
Where is that clock That holds my fate It's ticks pound at my brain It never rests so why should I So here I cannot stay
To my feet with a curse I trod another day I have not heard the clock bell strike so here I cannot stay

Carry me away
Carry me away, away from tears, away from fears I am tied to earth by a single thread Floating too far below the horizon Tugging at my thread I fear to float away Tugging at my thread I am loath to stay
I am tied to my friends by a single thread Carry me away, away from tears, away from fears Floating too far below the horizon All that exists are the threads that bind I only stay for those left behind
I have cut my thread so I can float free Still my friends tug wanting me to stay Carry me away, away from tears, away from fears Floating too far below the horizon Smile for me just once, see how high I rise
Others float where I now roam all welcome me Some are old friends I have never met Some I have known for an eternity Carry me away, away from tears, away from fears Floating too far below the horizon
I am tied to friends by a single thread I have cut my thread so I can float free Smile for me just once, see how high I rise
