I'm a retired nurse after 25 years of working with the mentally and physically handicapped males in a NJ institution. Now found love again with my ex husband and living with him in NC, after each of us going our separate ways. I have two grown sons who live in NJ and a kitty named Bella who is with my oldest son. I did bring my sweet Lab/Pit mix Pollo with me and he gets along great with my honey's black lab/pit LuLu. Unfortunately, he was sick for a while, and although I had him at the vet's several times, she suggested further evaluation. Found out he had cancer and had to put him to sleep on Aug. 14th 2018. Still miss him and look for him every day.
Things are very good between us; love the second time around is wonderful. We still have our ups an downs, but neither of us is going anywhere.
I like downloading recipes from the internet, trying them out, cooking of course!, being on the computer in general, reading, watching TV in the evening, going for rides to nowhere, playing games on my tablet before shutting off the lights at nite, and occasionally eating out and visiting home in Jersey to see family and friends.
The Two Shoe Salesman story is a well-known parable that illustrates the power of perspective and attitude.
The story goes that two shoe salesmen were sent by a shoe company to a foreign country to assess the market for their product.
The first salesman arrived and immediately sent a message back to the company saying, “There is no potential here – nobody wears shoes.”
The second salesman arrived and sent a message back saying, “This is a fantastic opportunity – nobody wears shoes!”
The story demonstrates how two people can look at the same situation and interpret it completely differently based on their mindset and attitude.
The second salesman had a positive outlook and saw the potential in the situation, while the first salesman had a negative outlook and saw only the obstacles.
This story is often used to illustrate the power of a growth mindset and the importance of maintaining a positive attitude in order to succeed in any situation.
