Tip Of The Day!
Use a star-shaped cookie cutter to cut shapes out of cucumbers, cheese, bread, or lunch meats for salads, platters, and sandwiches.

MY HEART SOARS!

Some thoughts on Living

The best way to get even is to forget.

Feed your faith and your doubts will starve to death.

Some people wear their halos much too tight.

Sorrow looks back, worry looks around and faith looks up.

Standing in the middle of the road is dangerous, as you may well get knocked down by the traffic going either way.

Words are windows to the heart.

A skeptic is a person who when seeing the handwriting on the wall claims it's a forgery.

It isn't difficult to make a mountain out of a molehill; just add a little dirt.

The mighty oak tree was once a little nut that held its ground.

The tongue must be heavy indeed, because so few people can hold it.

To forgive is to set the prisoner free and then discover the prisoner was you.

You'll notice that a turtle only makes progress when it sticks out it’s neck.

If the grass is greener on the other side of the fence you can bet the water bill is higher.

Have a Good Day! Stay Safe. Happy Trails x

Learning from Failure

During an interview with a newspaper reporter a famous research scientist who had made a number of very important medical breakthroughs was asked why he was able to make the medical break throughs and what set him apart from others in his field?

He responded that, in his opinion, it all came from an experience with his mother that occurred when he was about four years old. He had been trying to remove a bottle of milk from the refrigerator when he lost his grip on the cold and somewhat slippery bottle and it fell and broke spilling its contents all over the kitchen floor creating a veritable sea of milk!

When his mother came into the kitchen, instead of yelling at him and giving him a lecture what he had done wrong or punishing him, she said, ‘My son, what a great and wonderful mess you have made! I have rarely seen such a huge puddle of milk. Well, the damage has already been done. His mother then said, ‘You know, whenever you make a mess like this, eventually you have to clean it up and restore everything to its proper order. So, how would you like to do that?

We could use a sponge, a towel, or a mop. Which do you prefer?’

He chose the sponge and together they cleaned up the spilled milk.

His mother then said . . . ‘You know, what we have here is a failed experiment in how to effectively carry a big milk bottle with two tiny hands. Let's go out in the back yard and fill another empty milk bottle with water and see if you can discover a way to carry it without dropping it.’

With the help of his mother, he learnt that if he grasped the bottle at the top near the lip with both hands, he could carry it without dropping it.

The now famous scientist then remarked that it was at that moment that he knew he didn't need to be afraid to make mistakes with whatever he did in life. Instead, he learned that mistakes were just opportunities for learning something new or a different way to do something, which is, after all, what scientific experiments are all about. Even if the experiment doesn't work, we usually learn something valuable from it.

Keep Going

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you’re trudging seems all up hill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must—but don’t you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don’t give up, though the pace seems slow—
You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than
It seems to a faint and faltering man,
Often the struggler has given up
When he might have captured the victor’s cup,
And he learned too late, when the night slipped down,
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out—
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems afar;
So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit—

It’s when things seem worst that you mustn’t quit.

HAVE A BEAUTIFUL WEEK AND MAY THE ANGELS ALWAYS SHOWER YOU WITH BLESSINGS DAILY.X
