Hi Darlene.Last day of Easter here and almost over for another year. Easter is not like it was years ago. Firstly it was a very solemn occasion and something we respected very much. Then on easter Sunday there was the excitement of getting an egg or perhaps two. My mom always managed to give each one of us one small chocolate egg and a candy one. Do you remember those large candy ones with the decorations on the outside? And inside there was a little egg. I did the same with my children. Everyone was happy then just to receive one or two eggs. Also Hot cross buns were only sold a week or two before easter. They were such a treat/novelty back then. I did the same tradition with my kids and they were so happy. Nowadays children not only have hoards of easter eggs also egg hunts to gather more, plus expensive gifts. The religious significance and true meaning is pushed into the background. It is sad really. We have two more Public holidays before next Spring. On the 25th of this month is ANZAC Day a day to commemorate the service men and women and all who lost their lives also participated in the the wars and conflicts. There are Marches in all the major cities and smaller towns hold a memorial beginning at dawn. The other Public holiday is in June to commemorate the Kings birthday. Our humid weather is caused by the Cyclones that rage in the north of the country and along the western and eastern coastlines they then head inland which effects us in the southern part of the country. Cyclone weather happens both in Autumn and late Spring here. A trip to the Hair salon sure makes a person feel good. I usually have a trim every six to eight weeks and go to the same salon each time as the girls there do such a good job and I know them well. It’s overcast here with the occasional shower of fine misty rain. And to think I’ve thoroughly watered the front and back gardens this past two days:). Will catch up again later.Hugs ~Pat~
I hope you have a happy weekend Darlene, I've got to make a quick trip to the grocery store..and it's raining, I'm hoping by the time I get ready to leave, the rain will be over.
Good evening Summer - Stopping by to wish you a Happy Easter.. Do you have anything planned for the weekend? I hope you're not going anywhere by plane.. Can't trust tavelling anywhere until this political nonsense is cleared up.. Trump has the world so messed up, I don't think anything will be right again.. How are the gas prices over there? Here, it is outrageously high and getting higher as time goes on.. Hope he's happy with himself.. I use to like him, now can't understand what I ever seen in him.. He betrayed the the world.. Nothing he promised ever came true.. He and his billionaire friends screwed up everything.. Good night! Enjoy your Easter holiday.. Love and hugs xoxo
AT Last someone who talks sense.
yes he is a war monger.
i could say tons but i dont want to upset your kin in your wonderful country .not on this page anyway .
everything has shot through the roof yes.
prices are going up and up .not only in our countries but all around the world .
I feel so soo sorry for all the mothers of the soldiers that have been sent to destroy and obliterate Kharg Island.
many will not return.
Trump has openly said that he has destroyed the capabillities for them to build a nuclear bomb.
so if that was his original plan .and its true .
Then STOP THE DARN WAR.
Its madness .
And yes he has made a lot of his rich already buddies even richer.by telling them when to sell then buy back stocks and bonds .
and his tone of communication makes my skin crawl.he is so full of his own importance .
wont say any more in case i offend.
Im just answering what you have wrote .
No holidays booked just yet ,but H and I will be going out to ireland soon with my brother and his wife to see his son and daughter in law ."Our Nephew"
I got a cut n highlights this morning. I'm good to go for another 6 weeks, then a trim will be due. Looks like rain is due here in Sunday. Much cooler too. I've stayed in much of this week, except when I'm doing my walks in the yard. I have a feeling our summer is going to be eventful as well.
Hello Darlene. Welcome to the new month of April. I hope it will be a great one for you both. Its semi overcast and very muggy/humid this afternoon and going to be like this for the rest of the week. I’ve caught up with my grocery shopping with enough to last me for two weeks or so. I took Muffy to the Veterinary clinic for his annual check and vaccinations yesterday also have a nasty lump on his neck examined. Although it’s benign as it is gradually growing Martin has booked him in for surgery next week to have it removed. Muffy has been prone to these cysts/lumps ever since he was very young.
I’ve been working on a new page to replace the Easter one and just about finished. Are you both doing anything for Easter? I’ll be staying at home and away from the crowds. There’s a Market Fair on in town Easter Saturday with home products & Crafts etc but I’ll give that a miss. Nothing I want and too much walking involved. Chat again Darlene. Hugs ~Pat~
