Today feels like a Fall day..it's currently 65 and cloudy. We had a small rain shower earlier. As well as more rain yesterday. By Thursday, we will see 89. I'm going to start counting down to September too.
You must have that type of ladder where you can adjust it to different lengths .
That`s the one i should of bought years ago
It was not fun trying to get that ladder balanced.
I dont use it hardly anymore. Those dasys are over with.
I use my 5 foot ladder to get where i can .
Try them fake wasp nests because that is what turns them away from builing a nest .
You are correct the best time to mess with them carpenter bee holes is during the evenings or early mornings.
I hope i did the right thing by shoving a big piece of cotton snug into one of them bee holes just as soon as a bee flew in it.Packed with vinegar Then i shoved another with the dark varnish.
I was thinking if it can drill its way in it can easily drill its way out.
Tomorrow is senior citizens day at Walgreens but i decided to go today to just pick up a couple jars of nuts .Now tomorrow ill really go for all the items i have planned . Spend 35 bucks get 7 bucks back. Plus all hings are 20% off.
Guess who i met this morning on my way to Walgreens .I met that fella with his dog I was starring at him from a distance .He was looking around but not at me at all lol
As i got up to him i just kindly said Hi and he kept walking.
So i guess that problem is solved . Maybe he might greet me next time. I leave it at that
He`s probably a nice guy.
Thats all i eat the most Salads and Eggs and sweet potatoes and i have each one separately on different days and i have tons of chicken

I dont eat them pizzas whole i crack them into 4 or 5 pieces and heat up just 2 on a paper plate in the microwave. 4 of those will last a good while :) Have a nice evening
I do love cats--I had two from 1996 to 2015. I have one china cabinet with "stuff" but I have displays everywhere. Collections--teapots, Venetian masks, celtic & medieval themes, fairies, Belleck, strawberries, sunflowers & honey, apples, etc. And my son won't want any of it when I'm gone. Oh well! Hope you're having a marvelous Monday!
Hello Melinda. I do indeed have a curio cabinet. And it is filled with art glass and crystal cats, and porcelin cats and a few other things. It's the safest place to keep them so the cats can't knock them over. I have tried stuffed peppers but they aren't my favorite food. I don't like vegetables that much...''LIGHT CHOOSES GENTLE PAWS'' GOOD NIGHT, MELINDA.
Darlene no i never had one before not even at our old house.I had to do a search to see what they looked like lol
Oh so those are curio cabinets .They are pretty tall .
My aunt i know had that kind of cabinet.
We had a bookcase and thats one of the old things i bet that might be worth something today .It is quite old as i had it when i was just a kid.
Inside that cabinet i remember having a encyclopedia set and up on top we had this set of dolls representing all the months of the year. Those i i still have inside the bookcase and i have it downstairs with much of the old furniture we took with us.
We did not leave very much we took all we could . >>It was my idea to want to do that .
Do you knowi for 36 years that i have been here we still have the same water heater.
Have i ever mentioned that before ..
I wrote to Pat about the bees a couple times the last couple of days. so far i dont see any as the holes they made are covered up and painted with varnish and there was vinegar sprayed also on the cotton and inside the holes.
.I knocked one down to the ground and another i hit so hard that i did not see it fall down and i did whack it good .
.Maybe it went in the neighbors yard lol
I was looking into those Data Centers they doing it here too but its the first i have heard of it since you had mentioned it
I went and did searches and tried a couple youtube videos. Have a nice night Darlene and earlier this year i got a stung and it felt like it was in my ear.
It hurt for sometime till the pain began easing up .Pretty rough keeping a happy face thats for sure .
God bless you Check Pats page if you wish to and look for my messages. :)
Marie's service was beautiful yesterday. It was a warm, sunny day. The humidity was not too bad. I got to see a lot of her family members that I hadn't seen in quite a while. Two of her granddaughters came in from Texas.
Good evening Darlene. I’ve just been trying out my new toaster. Why oh why do they have the writing/dots/icons on the appliances so minute now where you need a magnifying glass to see everything. It seems I’m to estimate the colour of the toast that I want. Naturally burning the bread would be easy:) My old one of 12 years or so finally gave up hence the new one. I daresay practise will make perfect. I was going to take a quick trip to town to get some cash from the ATM at the bank as I like to keep some on hand. I prefer to do this on the weekend as I can get a park nearby without having to walk far but it’s got quite cold. I’m thinking I’ll do it tomorrow. Yes, we have those Data centres here too. I know it’s a worry what they store in those places but with the advent of the internet we all lost our privacy anyway. I try not to think about it. The thing that annoys me are the Spam texts and emails that are so cunningly clever. They seem to track what a person does either on the phone or computer. I delete everything that comes my way without opening it. Yes it’s good to get that mamo test out the way but you should have it more often. We have a Mobile unit that visits here every two years and I make sure of an appointment as my maternal grandmother lost her life with breast cancer and she was only in her 30’s. It was supposed to have rained this afternoon but once again they got that wrong. It would be nice to actually have some intelligent weather reports on the TV news channels. So much for modern technology. Time for me to move on. Chat again soon. Hugs ~Pat~
I hope you enjoy the day Darlene. We're waiting for the AC man to come check out our unit to make sure everything is in good working order to make it through the up coming hot summer months.. he's supposed to come this morning, I just hope it's before my hubby has to go to work later, Thursday and Friday's he works 1 pm to 8 pm.
Good evening Darlene. I’m like you in that many of the things I did and enjoyed years ago I no longer care for. So many things change as we get older.
Sure sounds like you are having a wet season. We had some good rain on Monday while I was at the Scrabble Group. Since then its been dull and overcast. Oh yes, I did put flowers (Artificial) on my families graves at the local catholic cemetary. This I would do annually at the beginning of Spring. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to do this for the past two years simply because I’m very restricted in where I can walk and the distance. The cemetary is on the side of a hill making it difficult There are so many of my family and relatives resting there. I do know that no one has replaced those flowers since I was last there. Hopefully, come spring Trudy may be able to help me with new flowers. No, I’ve not had pierogies. Aren’t they a type of Polish dumpling?. Do you make them yourself or can you buy them frozen?.
Kay collected Kindy on the weekend and she is back home again. Trudy goes to the city usually on weekends to visit with her son and dau-in-law also friends and at other times its for specialist appointments or business. She is Head of the Music Departmeny at our local High School. Kay (her daughter) lives here in town but attends University in the city during the week. She comes back home most weekends. I’m getting low on supplies and need to go to the supermarket this weekend. I’m thinking I may start ordering online and having it delivered in the future as It’s getting to difficult to get around and especially in the winter months. It’s just a thought.
Time to toast a slice of Spicy Fruit loaf for lunch with a nice hot cup of tea:) Have a pleasant night Darlene. Hugs ~Pat~
hi Darlene! I hope you had a great weekend! I stayed offline yesterday, in rememberance of my cousin Ronnie, he was killed in action in Vietnam, back in 1969, he was only 24 yrs old. It's been raining here, more to come today and tomorrow...then it starts to slow down. May is our "rainy" month...
Hello Melinda. Many years ago when I was young and my parents were alive, we did celebrate Memorial Day with a ritual of putting fresh flowers on the graves of our beloved family members who were killed in wars ,and a religious service in the cemetary, in honor of all those went off to wars and died in service to our country. Now all my family is gone and I live in a different state and my husband's family doesn't celebrate the day that way. We just had a regular Monday this year. But I do reflect on those who were killed in wars.
Yes, it's a two way street, I was going thru notes, cards, and letters she gave me over the years..and that message was conveyed to me from her. I saw a beautiful red cardinal outside my kitchen window this afternoon. I knew before the sun rise today I would see one soon. I'll share my message in this at the blog section.
Lisa - Did you ever stop to think about her life.. I think her life was much richer for knowing you all those years!
Hi Darlene! Last night, I saw our first lightening bug, it was so uplifting for me to watch it flying around our backyard, amongest the trees, blinking it's light off and on, looking for a mate...
Firefly symbolism:
Fireflies, also known as lightening bugs, symbolize hope, guidance and the power of inner light. Because they generate their own bioluminescence, they are a powerful metaphor of illuminating your path during difficult times, embracing your uniqueness, and trusting your intuition.
Light Overcoming Darkness: They are viewed as spiritual beacons, reminding us that even the smallest spark can push back the deepest darkness.
Marie passed away at 6:57 pm this evening. We said our goodbyes to her on Thursday night. Going to miss her so much, but my life is much richer by having her in my life.
Hi Darlene! this is an actual photo that I took of my iced coffee 10 yrs ago today....LOL I was so surprised to see a happy face made with the ice inside the glass. It made me smile when I saw it, I hope it brings a smile to your face too!
Marie is still hanging on. We were up there last night, but she had already slipped into unconscienceness. So I'll be awaiting updates from her family. Once they began administering morphine late last week, she declined fairly quick. I decided to update my page. It was fun putting it together. Going to be a rainy weekend here..showers will be scattered through most of next week. I'll keep you posted on Marie.
The big yellow flower is a day lily. I used to have them in my garden when I had a yard. I hope it does all right in a pot. I planted marigolds, salvia, a firecracker plant, thyme, oregano, portulaca, million bells and lantana. I've had my shamrock for about 7 yrs now. Trying for a bee & butterfly friendly space.

Alice --Thanks for sharing your beautiful ensemble of plants with everyone. I see you have a chair there so you can sit and admire your work of putting everything together. Is that a blooming yellow cactus at the top? You'll be busy keeping up with all the plants, especially the watering once it gets HOT :) xx Melinda
