I planted my tomato seeds today in seed trays ready for transfering them outside one they grow and the weather gets warmer,
I also found some old cosmos seeds so i put some of those in trays too .just to see if they come up.They are very old though so im not expecting much from them . we shall see .Ihope your keeping yourself fit and well hun and hubby too.
we are not doing much for easter this year apart from the normal egg hunts with the all the family Kiddywinks.
HUBBY AND I HAVE BEEN OUT FOR DINNER A FEW TIMES LAST WEEK
so im missing my own home cooking and so is he.
might cook duck wraps this coming weekend .easy and simple.
I have all the ingredients so thought we could have that .
are you doing anything special for easter hun .
be glad when this new war ends .
so much pressure on every country wether involved or not involved.we all have to suffer .
Hello Melinda. I don't buy special candy for Easter since I don't do the Easter basket scene anymore. It reminds me too much of my mother who died several years ago, and all the special Easter baskets she would make for me, and I don't have that in my life anymore.
Hey there Summer - Did your friends ever make it out of the airport? I'm tired of all this government bullcrap and it's our government who's causing all the problems for people everywhere.. Just checking on you.. Good night dear friend hugs xoxo
Yes My Little Moon Girl .
They did get out on the 17th ,wasnt easy on them either .
he had a pacemaker in his body too and was on special meds .Must have been pretty scarey for him with a heart problem mustnt it .
And yes i agree ,your wonderful country is being spoiled by an idiot that just wants war with everyone ,
we are all paying the price ,but its all the innocents that my heart bleeds for ,those that have lost their lives and the families that are grieving for them .
Lovely to hear from you sweetie .i will write tomorrow if thats ok ,
Hi Darlene. Your Easter page is so pretty. Quite the nicest that I’ve seen. I’m like you I keep my friends list small because I like to answer each one individually. It’s far more personal and enjoyable and I also learn a lot about the area where they live and that interests me. I also check to see approximately where they live then Google it so I can understand the area/region.
It was my (ex) son-in-law’s birthday last week and seven of us went out to a Pub Dinner at a town a few miles south of here Saturday evening. Lovely meal and good company. Always too much served for me as I don’t have a huge appetite. The Pub is not far from the School that I attended through Primary years. The town has grown since those days as have all in the Valley.
The past few days have been extremely humid with temps in the high 80’s. There’s a Cyclone going across the top of the country and the edge gets low enough to affect us in the southern states. This will continue for another month or so. Humidity sure makes the body ache. I’ll be glad when we have a cool change again.
I told my son about that Rat problem in NAPA Valley and he said he hadn’t heard anything about it here but it’s not to say it couldn’t happen. He said that the Winery he works for should be finished Harvesting in another two weeks. He is looking forward to that as he is working 12 hour shifts at present.
Your’e weather sounds unpredictable at the moment but that usually happens both in Spring and autumn. It’s nice to see green grass and trees etc bursting into blossom. Time for me to make supper and feed Muffy too. I also need to download some books again for something to read later. Nothing like a good mystery story at bestime:). Hugs ~Pat~.
I always ocdered a 14 inch just perfect.so would my buddy. He would be with me many saturday nights and we would watch Creature Features lol in Black and white television.
And we would have a bottle of pop to wash it down .
You know i didn`t even realize that drones actually deliver pizzas.
For the heck of it i just wanted to see if i was able to find images of any from my search engine and there were lots.. Sometimes when you least expect it thunder can grab anyones attention.
That should melt most of the snow you received
. Its cold again here. Well you can`t blame them they want customers to buy from them.
They must have a good business in the location they are at.
I hope they get those driverless cars soon.
Those cars will drop in price because most will bein flying cars. They will be flying the friendly summer skies beginning this year.
I used to do that so so much back in the day . Prices were so reasonable.
Im just taking a guess and would say a 14 inch pizza might go for $22 .99 today
Things are just not the same anymore. Maybe someday we can own drones and you can send one to my home lol .
Wouldn`t that be something?
Things just went so bad last year Darlene.
We had an exceptional summer where people just had to stay in their homes because it was just way too hot to do anything.
Even the mail was stopped.
If you had to work in the heat it was not fun .
then right after that we caught a small break as Fall was about to come.
But hey by us here we may of got two maybe 3 weeks and then it was just too cold and it stayed that way.
Its just not fun at all.
We had snow on top of it and we were not even in winter.
It was just way too much.
You know if you don`t have a car to get in to go visit different places to get a different change of scenery you`re stuck like i was.
I felt like i was in my 80`s in a freaken nursing home over here lol
No i do not like winter at all .
I like the early spring and i like the early autumn.
Do you plan on going back to work again ?
AI is looking for people to work all types of jobs and they pay you well for it. Imagine that people are working for robots .Its getting close to 650,000 people have already applied.
Somebody is behind all that nonsense.
Who is the one that prints out the checks?
I don`t trust it .We want a union and vacation and hospitalization .lol
We would have to give out personal info you know?
I heard there was a huge meteor blast in your area .
Im sure you must of heard about it.
Out in Ohio and also Pennsylvania.
Its on youtube. Our day was nice today but its getting cold for a few again.
Was nice of you to think of me .
God bless you and have a good night .
By the way i got a Swiss Colony book for Easter ,i bet you did too :)
We worked in the yard today. Suppose to rain this evening, but just a small chance. I sprayed my car off, as the pollen had turned it green. I got some bags of top soil, so have begun placing dirt in the flower beds, as well as some pots. I want to go to Lowe's tomorrow and get a new bird feeder..and of course while there, check out the flowers. Last spring we planted impatients in the North flower bed. They did so good. I planted zinnia seeds this afternoon...now we wait. It's so refreshing seeing spring make its entrance after the drab and grey winter. Enjoy the weekend -:)
I prefer the frozen green beans.lnitmallu Illmadd salt n pepper, and sometimes garlic. I also make stuffed peppers..need to make some very soon. It's hard to find good size peppers, but I'll keep looking. Tonight, we're having pork chops snd cabbage,
Hi Darlene. Oh, you have a nice page there. Very pretty. As you can see I’ve completed my easter page. It’s not the original one I first worked on. I just was not happy with that one so set to work on this present one. I’m much happier with that.
Well, we have had another good rainfall here. Not sure how much as I haven’t a rain gauge and that’s something I need to rectify. I saw a cute weather station in a brochure that our local Garden Centre dropped in the mailbox and next time I’m in town I’m calling in to get one as it’s easy to set up and that’s what I need.
That’s odd starting your season well into the month. I guess there’s a good reason for it. Personally I like our way better. It’s easy to understand. Oh, so you have already put your clock’s forward the hour. So back to the dark mornings but lighter in the evenings. I don’t mind that but it’s hard to adjust when we have to turn them back 6 months later. It puts my body out of whack and makes me kinda sleepy at the wrong time:). We turn our clock’s back on the 5th April this year which is also Easter Sunday. That’s when I’ll probably get grumpy for a week or two:).
Well that Spring snow does sound kinda pretty (from afar). I imagine it wouldn’t stay around for long. Do you get many frosts this time of the year?. We may not get very much snow but suffer from severe frosts during late autumn to late Spring. It’s the black frosts that do the most damage.
Re the stuffed peppers. Yes I used to make them but a long time ago. Can’t be bothered doing that for one person now. This evening I’ve got steak and will have that with chips (french fry’s) an egg and lot’s of rich gravy.
I think I mentioned before that I had planted sweet pea seeds in containers. That was just over a week ago. I was surprised yesterday to see that many have come up already. Usually they take two weeks. May be because I planted them early and the days and nights are still warm. Just hope this year nothing happens to them as has happened the past two years. 3 years ago I planted them in a large container out the back. They were doing fine until Muffy (my little dog) decided they made terrific medication and continously munched away every time they sprouted. Last year I planted them out in the ground high behind the retaining wall. Once again they came up and looked great. I went out one morning and found they had disappeared!. I hadn’t realised I had snails and slugs. This year I’ve put out a little bait and as I’ve placed the containers on the retaining wall itself I thinking I’ve covered all aspects of danger. If they grow and flower they should look nice trailing down the wall. Time for me to prepare supper so will close for now. Hugs Darlene. Pat.
Good Morning, Melinda. Our weather is back to being cold after a generous preview of spring. It's going to sink to the upper 20s Tuesday night, and Wednesday won't get out of the 40s. No snow.
Yes, a small tornado hit just a few miles west of us, tearing off the roof of a warehouse. March weather here is volitale. Will never forget Hurricane Hugo in 1989. Didn't sleep a wink the entire night as the eye of that storm went right over us, nsaw y'all got snow. We have had snow here in April before,,it's rarely but does happen. I I'm sure a lot of food places are doing high volume business today/tonight. We are staying home and having meatloaf and green beans. -:)
We're getting strong storms tomorrow mid day..seems a unique weather pattern is forming, and this tends to happen here this time of year. Straight line winds with possible tornados forming in the eastern end of the state. Tuesday's high, 49. We've already seen 87 for a high 12 days ago. Hubby is continuing to improve. He does take naps more often now. Has returned to work full time. Easter is 3 weeks away. I'm always reminded that it brings a renewal of new beginning..as we witness the array of color and change in the landscape, we begin to be reminded that new beginnings can, and do, happen in our lives as well. Enjoy the new week ahead..
Stopping by to wish you a fun St Patrick's Day.. It's becoming more popular over here.. There's lots of green pages here.. Applebees is coloring their beer green and they have other green cocktail mixed drinks.. I know you'd love them, just as I do.. Hope you're doing well.. You're the most vacationing girl I ever met.. lol.. Good night.. Hope you have a wonderful weekend, dear friend xoxo
Ha Ha
Love the cute message hun .( vacationaling girl ) made me laugh ,was very funny .
we were very lucky to get home hun ,folks that left a day after us cant get flights at all they are still stuck in male and believe me its not a nice place to stay for longer than two days ,friends we met were promised a flight out on the 10th march but it did not happen they are still there with a new promised flight of the 17th ,hopefully it will happen for them .
tey also have to pay for hotels and food themselves now as its all an act of war and the travel companies wont pay it for them now ,
I am in touch with them still so will let you know if the flight takes off on the 17th march .
BTW
If your going green for patty day then try a MOJITO
Its green and if made correctly is real nice hun
All for now
Lovely to hear from you and i love your green page its sweet ,
Cooler temps have returned, at least for a few days. It will be 67 today, then low 70's thru the weekend. Currently raining. I'm heading to the chiropractor shortly. Therapy will continue thru early May. It is helping tremendously. I've also started walking 2 miles daily. Bought a pedometer so can monitor my distance. I'm sleeping better now. It's been a semi busy week with appts". But nothing though for tomorrow..maybe clean our house..goy laundry done this morning. I'm dreading summer too. We hit 87 on Tuesday..
Hi Darlene. Have just returned from a Podiatry app and popping in here before I think about making something for supper. Re the Rat problem in the vineyards. That totally surprised me as I have never heard of it before now. Can’t imagine why they would be attacking the roots and bark of the vines underground. Attacking the berries when ripe I would accept especially in the home garden environment but rarely in large vineyards. Our major problem here when the grapes are ripe are the birds who love to gorge on the fruit. Our vineyards monitor year round for the Grape Phylloxera that attack the roots of vines and if that gets hold it can wipe out vinyards. But have never heard of rats doing this. I will have a chat with my son when I next see him and ask if he has heard about this as he works in the industry. The only reason I can think of is that they are spraying or using something in their vineyards that attracts rats. I do have a nephew and family living in California close to the Napper Valley region but haven’t had contact with them for some time now.
No we haven’t had anymore rain to follow up the storms a fortnight ago. Normally our seasonal opening rains should commence around late April may. That’s when the farmers begin sewing their crops. Your late grandmother was of the old traditional type who never let anything waste. Her grape jelly and jam sounds delicious. I used to do a lot of preserving (canning) fruit, making jams, sauces, pickles, chutneys, relishes using all home grown fruit and vegies. This I did until the children left home and it wasn’t then worth it just for two people. However I’ve never made Grape Jam or Jelly. I think that’s something I might suggest to my daughter as she loves cooking and grows most of her own fruit and vegies.
Any signs of Spring happening your way? After your extra snowy cold winter you are probably looking forward to some warmer days but not the forthcoming Summer months. Well, time to see about getting food for my little fur boy and then something for myself. Chat again Darlene. Hugs Pat.
