And so goodbye to July. And the everpresent sun for me. Finally some precipitation here in Wonderland. Happy Saturday to you!
Being in Michigan, we have lovely fall colors. My fav month is also October. I love an autumn palette. I sort of adopt August as early autumn. Now my sunflowers & honey--golden decor--really ushers in a harvest feeling though it's been up since July 6th. I used to do fall & Halloween & then back to fall for my little tree. Now I just do a fall look that lasts from Sept. 8 to just after Thanksgiving, my lonngest 'look' at 11 wks. But since it's fall colors, I sure don't mind! Hope we can all enjoy some cooler evenings since summer is on the wane. Cyndi
Thank you so much for the anniversary wishes Darlene! I am looking forward to getting August behind us too, I love the fall time, it's my favorite time of the year, when those temps and humidity are way down, but not freezing yet!
Hi Darlene. Yes, the months are creeping by. I would think/hope you have the worst of summer out the way. It would be fun if we were closer. I’m sure we could get up to some mischief:). and at present you would enjoy our nice crispy air. In the 20’s last night and I’m thinking not much higher tonight. Oh well, Trudy’s cherry trees will be happy. They revel in the frosts. Re the strawberries. We have grown them but now I buy them from the supermarkets. The problem with strawberries they don’t keep once they have been picked as they bruise easily and soon go soft and mouldy so must be sorted through daily. Yes, I did see Beth’s layout with the watermelons. It was cute. I think she has changed it now. I love watermelon in summer. Always buy a half each week and slice it up and put it in the fridge to eat at anytime. To me it’s better than a glass of water or soda drinks. They are not feasable to grow in the home garden as they use too much ground with their runners. Our climate is very suitable so they are grown in the market gardens south of here also in the riverland as they do require a lot of water. Personally I only like the seedless variety. I also love watermelon in salads. I had a friend call in at midday with a dozen fresh eggs. They live on the outskirts of town and have more land where the hens run free during the day so their eggs are lovely and rich with a good colour. I’m thinking I will have some for supper with bacon and toast and sliced tomatoe. Muffy is to be bathed and clipped on Monday. Hopefully she can do a partial clip rather than a full which he can have in october when its warmer. I just have to take the days that are available as the groomers are all so busy. Will catch up again soon. Hugs ~Pat~
Good Morning, Melinda. I do indeed like Halloween---the decorations, the candy the cool temperatures--all of it. The colorshow provided by the falling leaves is at it's prettiest in October.
Thanks so much for your reassuring words. I believe what you say. I guess I'm just squeamish. It would make my day to have tea with you- such a lovely thought. Good night dear friend. Hugs for you xo
Pretty page, Darlene! You doing okay? Hope all is well. I know you're sweltering, too. Whadda summer, and too much more to come before true Fall arrives. Take care of you, my friend. TTYL! *hugs*
Hi Darlene! the puzzle turns out to be easier than it looks! we're almost finished with it. I was working on the left side, where the girl is holding the fishing line, the boy hanging out in the tree, the horse with the riders, and the boy holding the rope...I worked on it for a couple of hours last night, and got all that part connected! The hubby worked on the other side, I'll finish it tonight while he's at work!
The last week of July..hopefully August will be kind to us weather wise. So far the weekly forecast shows low 90's. Won't be long, and Labor Day weekend will arrive. We plan on visiting my sister in law then. That weekend will mark the one year anniversary of my brother's passing.
wishing you a fun Monday Darlene! nothing much going on here...we have started a new series of puzzles, there is 4 in all...this the one we're currently doing, "Summer on the Farm"...sorry it's not a clear photo...google wasn't showing too many choices of this puzzle:
Hello Dear Summer - Thought I'd stop by to say hello. I had an eye appointment this morning, but didn't make it. I slept in. Boy, that makes me mad when I do that. I visited my old NOTH account and changed my page there. Do you ever go there anymore? Hope you have a lovely weekend. Any events scheduled for Saturday or Sunday? Hugs for you xo.. Callisto
Hi There
My Dear Little Moon Girl.
I was concerned that you missed your eye appointment .and i hope it doesnt take to long to get another .
Its my Grandaughters Birthday on 30th of this month ,
so we are having a little celebration for her this weekend "",tomorrow actually before her big party next weekend .
there is always a celebration of some kind within the family ,we are an ever expanding family ,its hard to keep up sometimes and we all have to be careful not to double book .
I truly need my diary constantly.
How are you hun apart from your eyes .
Hows the heat situation ,its going to get hot again for us next week ,it seems never ending here at the moment .
We are all forbidden to use our hosepipes now to water the gardens ,wash cars etc ,
we are now in drout conditions ,all that rain we get through the year ,and now a drout ,you cant make up can you .
anyway ,we can still use buckets to water the garden,so i am managing to keep my garden alive and happy .
anyway hun ,thank you for the visit ,and i love the flower garden you have as yoiur background , dont forget to feed and water those beautiful flowers .ha ha .
I shop a lot online but not HSN or QVC. The Hallmark channel. That's what inspired me lol! I love knowing you have a tree up all year. Keep the message of Christmas all the year thru, that is what we say in December.
I'll be sharing pics of my golden summer/bee/sunflower decor & tree soon! My amber look for me is the beginning of autumn, which is my fav season. Fall doesn't last long enough!
I was over on Pinterest this morning and saw a bunch of these Coke Cola cans, I think they must have been AI generated, thought they were really cool looking, just thought I'd share! I hope you have a great Friday and weekend Darlene!
happy new day to you Darlene! It's going to be in the 100's again, so I'm going to stay inside with my fan blowing on me...I have one by my chair in the living room, one by the table I do crafts/puzzles on, and one on my side of the bed.. I did get the injections for my knee, I don't know what it was called, but I had a shot a week in the knee, for 3 weeks. It did not help one tiny bit...the surgery was much needed, because since I had to wait a whole year trying different medical things, and that knee just getting worse, turned out, by the time I had surgery, not only did I have a torn meniscus on the left side,(which the doctor knew from the MRI) it had another tear on the right...that showed up in the MRI I had a year later, that's why the surgery was done..
Hi Darlene. That heat wave sounds nasty and with the smoke drifting down from the wildfires the air would be most unpleasant. I find even though you stay indoors with the windows shut the smoke still filters in and also comes in through the air conditioners. My neighbours have the indoor wood heaters and although I keep the doors and windows closed the smoke still gets in and affects me. It never used to but I guess my system has weakened these past few years. Those wildfires in canada sound just like our Bushfires. They are frightening. Sounds like your visit to the Pain specialist was quite informative. Those Epidurals are fine as long as the doctor who is doing them has patience and does not try to force the fluid in too quickly. My first one went well but the second was a different doctor who never had the patience to do it slowly. Once done it certainly helped with the pain and both lasted for approx 3-4 months before wearing off. For some people they can last longer or shorter. It’s worth thinking about trying one to see how it goes and how long it lasts. Must be off as expecting a phone call shortly. Hugs ~Pat~
Hi Darlene! I hope you enjoy the day, we're still under a heat advisory warning, but I want to keep up walking, so I'm off to a store to get my mile done in AC...I try to change it up where I go, today it will be in Hobby Lobby...I will try hard not to buy anything! LOL!
