I hope you enjoy the day Darlene. We're waiting for the AC man to come check out our unit to make sure everything is in good working order to make it through the up coming hot summer months.. he's supposed to come this morning, I just hope it's before my hubby has to go to work later, Thursday and Friday's he works 1 pm to 8 pm.
Good evening Darlene. I’m like you in that many of the things I did and enjoyed years ago I no longer care for. So many things change as we get older.
Sure sounds like you are having a wet season. We had some good rain on Monday while I was at the Scrabble Group. Since then its been dull and overcast. Oh yes, I did put flowers (Artificial) on my families graves at the local catholic cemetary. This I would do annually at the beginning of Spring. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to do this for the past two years simply because I’m very restricted in where I can walk and the distance. The cemetary is on the side of a hill making it difficult There are so many of my family and relatives resting there. I do know that no one has replaced those flowers since I was last there. Hopefully, come spring Trudy may be able to help me with new flowers. No, I’ve not had pierogies. Aren’t they a type of Polish dumpling?. Do you make them yourself or can you buy them frozen?.
Kay collected Kindy on the weekend and she is back home again. Trudy goes to the city usually on weekends to visit with her son and dau-in-law also friends and at other times its for specialist appointments or business. She is Head of the Music Departmeny at our local High School. Kay (her daughter) lives here in town but attends University in the city during the week. She comes back home most weekends. I’m getting low on supplies and need to go to the supermarket this weekend. I’m thinking I may start ordering online and having it delivered in the future as It’s getting to difficult to get around and especially in the winter months. It’s just a thought.
Time to toast a slice of Spicy Fruit loaf for lunch with a nice hot cup of tea:) Have a pleasant night Darlene. Hugs ~Pat~
hi Darlene! I hope you had a great weekend! I stayed offline yesterday, in rememberance of my cousin Ronnie, he was killed in action in Vietnam, back in 1969, he was only 24 yrs old. It's been raining here, more to come today and tomorrow...then it starts to slow down. May is our "rainy" month...
Hello Melinda. Many years ago when I was young and my parents were alive, we did celebrate Memorial Day with a ritual of putting fresh flowers on the graves of our beloved family members who were killed in wars ,and a religious service in the cemetary, in honor of all those went off to wars and died in service to our country. Now all my family is gone and I live in a different state and my husband's family doesn't celebrate the day that way. We just had a regular Monday this year. But I do reflect on those who were killed in wars.
Yes, it's a two way street, I was going thru notes, cards, and letters she gave me over the years..and that message was conveyed to me from her. I saw a beautiful red cardinal outside my kitchen window this afternoon. I knew before the sun rise today I would see one soon. I'll share my message in this at the blog section.
Lisa - Did you ever stop to think about her life.. I think her life was much richer for knowing you all those years!
Hi Darlene! Last night, I saw our first lightening bug, it was so uplifting for me to watch it flying around our backyard, amongest the trees, blinking it's light off and on, looking for a mate...
Firefly symbolism:
Fireflies, also known as lightening bugs, symbolize hope, guidance and the power of inner light. Because they generate their own bioluminescence, they are a powerful metaphor of illuminating your path during difficult times, embracing your uniqueness, and trusting your intuition.
Light Overcoming Darkness: They are viewed as spiritual beacons, reminding us that even the smallest spark can push back the deepest darkness.
Marie passed away at 6:57 pm this evening. We said our goodbyes to her on Thursday night. Going to miss her so much, but my life is much richer by having her in my life.
Hi Darlene! this is an actual photo that I took of my iced coffee 10 yrs ago today....LOL I was so surprised to see a happy face made with the ice inside the glass. It made me smile when I saw it, I hope it brings a smile to your face too!
Marie is still hanging on. We were up there last night, but she had already slipped into unconscienceness. So I'll be awaiting updates from her family. Once they began administering morphine late last week, she declined fairly quick. I decided to update my page. It was fun putting it together. Going to be a rainy weekend here..showers will be scattered through most of next week. I'll keep you posted on Marie.
The big yellow flower is a day lily. I used to have them in my garden when I had a yard. I hope it does all right in a pot. I planted marigolds, salvia, a firecracker plant, thyme, oregano, portulaca, million bells and lantana. I've had my shamrock for about 7 yrs now. Trying for a bee & butterfly friendly space.

Alice --Thanks for sharing your beautiful ensemble of plants with everyone. I see you have a chair there so you can sit and admire your work of putting everything together. Is that a blooming yellow cactus at the top? You'll be busy keeping up with all the plants, especially the watering once it gets HOT :) xx Melinda
Well ok i`ll try to remember to show her.I held off cause it had your name on it.
I did let her know i made you one and i thought she might of came over to visit you.She was quite tired and i was too .Had a bad night iguess sleeping.I been waking up an hour earlier than usual the past few days.It was very cold and windy here. Our temperature was to reach 60 but by the time that happens its well past the afternoon. It was such a boring day not being able to get outside doing what i had planned. Just a wasted day.
Ill try to remember to pay her a visit and show her what i made for you..
I make a note so i dont forget..Today i must of yawned over 14 times and thats not ever like me to do that .
Lack of sleep and boredom will cause that lol.Ill gt to walgreens again and buy more peanuts..They are so friendly to me now . Ill make that note and have it on her page tomorrow and hope she will take the time to speak to you tomorrow
I going to go for the night glad it cooled off for you.
It will be nice here now and Memorial day it be only 80 degrees.
Have a nice night partner:) PS i also prefer the starter pots .At least i know it was planted properly lol catch you tomorrow
I can’t say I’ve ever had cheese steak so I googled it and from what I see after you cook everything you put it on a sandwich or bread rolls. That’s something I should try in the future. There were lots of mushrooms growing wild when I was growing up on the farm and we soon learnt how to choose the correct ones. There were either Field mushrooms that actually grew in circles and Tree mushrooms that were much larger and a stronger flavour. These grew at the base or under the gum trees. There are mushrooms that grow on trees but we avoided those. There used to be lots of toadstools years ago that we called fairy houses and were cute to look at but they were poisonous. Due to all the different sprays being used now I no longer pick the wild ones and when I want any I buy them from the supermarket.
I can so imagine Kizzy on returning home. It’s a wonder she didn’t go and hide under the bed after you let her out of the carrier. They are such intelligent creatures. No, I never went to the Gourmet weekend. There’s no way I could walk around plus getting on and off the coach would be impossible. Oh yes. I would have enjoyed a tasting or two of the white wines also the variety of foods available. My son and family went and he said there were good attendances at the wineries that they visited.
This afternoon my daughter is dropping off her dog after work as she is going to the city for the weekend so Kindy will be spending the time with muffy and myself. They are both the same age and get along well.
Your weather sounds a little crazy lately. I hope that hot spell isn’t a sign of a hot summer. From what I hear from friends some of the states are already suffering from drought conditions. Chat again soon. Hugs ~Pat~
Maybe they cut the size of the napkins .They probably like tissue paper lol.Did it cool off any by you?
Couldn`t be out too long as it was very windy and just too cool to be able to be out for very long Made a couple of jugs of Wet and forget so its set to us soon.
.By Memorial day we might hit 80 degrees.
Many people usually wait until Memorial day before they plant tomatoes.
Marie started going downhill a week ago. She's been on morphine and dosage was increased earlier this week. She's not expected to live over the next 24-48 hours.i saw her Monday morning and she was very weak and hasn't been able to get out of bed for several weeks. We are going to visit her this evening. My heart is broken.
Intriguing you mentioned plants--I finally got my patio space filled with this yr's plants on Sunday & I have been preparing a comment re: them. Some pics forthcoming. Got a late start with the foliage--and today back to 66F after 3 days of mid-80s. Summer needs to come & stay.

Hi Alice - Well, I'm not much into fairy tales. I do see where you mentioned plants, so I was wondering what kind of plants do you like/have? Do you like hanging baskets? I like petunias- they're a hardy flower and stand up to sun fairly decent. My favorite color of petunia are the purple ones (of course) and also hot pink. Have to be careful here in PA, because of late frost, but I do belive we're over the frost scare. I see you live in Michigan, so your weather is probably similar to ours. Hope you have a pleasant Wednesday:)
Hi Darlene i havent been inside a Burger King for ages and never knew they just sell cokes .
Do you know i started out with two different cokes? I did .
Then i took one away and replaced it with another Coke Seven up just came to mind and i went with it .If i have time ill see if i can fix it up so it looks better. Its quite nice here with a breeze going up to 78.
Have all the doors open . But we are headed back to much cooler weather 57 for tomorrow .
Thats pretty good outside weather but cool
.Im going to hold off till the Memorial day weekend and ill cut the lawns .
I also have wet and forget to put on the sidewalks. Just some of the bad areas ill power wash.. Im lucky i was able to put in a napkin in that graphic .Gee that burger was huge lol
Hi Darlene i have always kept the pool table downstairs .
Once you know how to play you would like it alot.
It would be wonderful to have these electric cars in our city soon and somewhere to charge up the car.
.We can`t keep saving all our lives its time to spend while we have the opportunity. I had 5 eggs 5 Keto tortillas and sliced up green ,red, and yellow orange peppers and a handful of chips :
Had an apple later on and a couple cookies and two coffees for the whole day)
I took a chance and tried that motorcycle layout and it looked pretty nive with the scenery added around it.
If i was to get transpotation it would be a car . Motorcycles are dangerous.
Someday i bet they will make.
driverless motorcycles and eventually if this world continues cars will be a thing of the past within the next 20 years.
Hi Darlene! I love me some Cracker Jacks...when I was a little girl, I always hoped to get a ring in the prize package inside the box...never got one though... Cracker Jacks started in the 1870's, gained mass popularity at the 1893 Worlds Fair, but was immortalized in 1908 by the song "Take Me Out to the Ball Game"...
Hi Darlene. I had to take some time off, but here, getting back into the swing again. I see you are a Featured Member” A huge congratulations from me. That’s a pretty page. Has Kizzy cat forgiven you yet after her bath? I’m thinking she looks a real treat now and feels so much better. I remember bathing my chillipepper years ago and he hated it. Loved the drying and grooming after the bath. I never attempted it again much to his approval. We used to have the Dairy Queens in Adelaide and suburbs years ago but as I haven’t been there for a long time I don’t know if they exist now. I remember having a strawberry blizzard and that was nice. Here it’s the Clare Valley Gourmet weekend where all the wineries in the valley have entertainment, food, tastings etc to promote their wines. People come from all over the state for the weekend. Coaches take visitors to various wineries throughout both days to enjoy them selves whilst private vehicles have a designated driver who does not drink the wine making it safe and enjoyable for everyone. Weather wise it’s been cool but just a fine misty rain yesterday morning that passed early and today the sun keeps peeping through so it should be a successful weekend. Will try and catch up again soon. Hugs ~Pat~
