We return to the 90's tomorrow. The last couple g days, it's been cooler..even though the humidity has been a bear. I never acquired a taste for watermelon. I do like strawberries and blueberries. I'm so over this darn summer. Our weather is, and has been a blend of seasons..we never know what it's going to bring. But I'm counting down the days to Fall.70 days away

Going to be in the 90s in Michigan & no cool down at night for a couple days. Not usual weather. I am actually a big milk drinker, though in the past couple years, I have cut down from about 4 glasses a day & switched to water. Even 1 % is a lot of calories that add up. Pop has always burned me, so I drink it once in awhile & my favorite is root beer. I'm that person that didn't mind if the pop went flat lol. I do like cherry flavor though. So a cherry soda or Dr. Pepper or Cherry Coke is all right by me. Hope you have a great day!

Hello Cyndi - No refeshing weather here yet. Do you like cherry Coke? Haven't had cherry Coke in awhile (years). I don't drink very much soda pop anymore. Coke and Pepsi are very hard on the stomach. Gives me heartburn now that I'm older. I mostly stick with iced tea or water. What are your favorite drinks? Good night.. xo Darlene

Happy Tuesday, Melinda. Bravecto is my choice for flea control on my cats too. The South has bigger bugs and more of them, than where I lived in the North, especially during the hot months. This may contain: a kitten peeking out from behind a curtain with flowers on the ground and in front of it

Hey, sweet Darlene. Are you doing okay? I hope this heat/humidity hasn't beaten you to a pulp. How many times a day are we thankful for ACs? Are you feeling well and enjoying your days? Goodie! Take care and have pleasant, peaceful weeks ahead, for (hopefully) Fall won't be late this year, and Winter will bound in like a lion:)  *hugs* -di

Hello Melinda. I do watch television alone. The hours and programs  I watch are different from my husband's choices. When one of us is online the other can use the TV. We get along so much better when we don't have to argue over who watches what and when they watch it.a happy saturday greeting card with a cat looking at a fish tank

To all those growing their own food this summer, I hope you are enjoying the fruits of your labor. And savor the summer nights!

Hi Darlene! I hope you enjoy this day, I'm going out to lunch with my daughter and her husband, and his aunt... I'm looking forward to seeing them, and getting out of the house for a bit.

Well  how lucky can you be .Wish we had that rain ,but no flooding.

It was a beautiful day here   with a high of 80 .

But in the morning it was like 66 degrees .

You won`t believe this.

Yesterday it was very quiet all day long until  about 8:30 .

Thats when that kid is starting up again with his fireworks.

That kid across the way lit up a few and it was quiet all the way till near 10:00

I do not know if the father constantly pals around with his son or not.

But  every  10 or 15 minutes   you would  hear another  firecracker .

Anyway this morning  i got up and  heck it was going to be the nicest day of the week so i got out there and  cut my lawn .

I brought out my garbage to get  dumped .

i heard the  fellas were coming down the street but now my garbage bin is filled up to the top again after cutting that grass.

But ill be ok i dont make a lot of garbage here  takes  a few days or more  for a big bag to fill up .

You are very lucky you do not flood .

That`s from all that hot weather.

Tomorrow will be a little   warmer  but  not too bad 86 by late afternoon.

Hope the rain stops for you Darlene

No petunias here. Just a fern on the front porch..have to water it every morning. My sunflowers came up and did well this time. As well as the zinnias out on the front steps by the driveway. We hope to see chances of rain all this week. It bypassed us last night. It's 92 this afternoon. One day closer to fall. The fireworks here were still going last night. I'm glad it's all over with.

Hi Darlene! we finished the 4th of July puzzle on Saturday, and started this cute puzzle yesterday!

I hope you enjoyed your holiday weekend...we stayed in and watched some of the Disney all day special, David Muir going to the Grand Canyon  and talking with the real Americans that have been in this country thousands of years before the Europeans got here, was outstanding!

07/06/2026 07:01:00

Darlene, hope you're off to a good start to a great week! Storms did seem to cut down on the local noise. Fireworks are not allowed in my condo complex, so the ruckus comes from surrounding areas. Thankful my dog is not bothered. He barks at the sound of bangs and thunder. We used to take Jasper & my now deceased dog Guinness to firework shows. They were unbothered by it. Yeah, halfway thru summer--

07/06/2026 05:14:07

Good Morning, Melinda. The 4th is a holiday everyone in the house celebrates differently Two went out to a fireworks display, two stayed at the house with us but watched their own TV all night. My husband  got extra sleep. And I watched the final hours of Disney's celebration that concluded with a fireworks display from Nashville, Tennessee. After years of going out in the heat and humidity to watch fireworks, I  watch it on TV now in air-conditioned comfort. Since we're in July now it's hard to tell if we're in a heat dome. It's normal for it to be in the 90s every day. I heard from friends who live in Europe that they are still suffering in the excessive heat. We're not due for a cool down till mid September. Autumn! Please come early.Story pin image

Hi Darlene. Have just got back from the Scrabble group and after making a cup of tea settled down with my laptop and saw your message. I was thinking of you over the weekend and wondering about the holiday celebrations that were happening your way. I presume lots of fireworks and noisy events going on. Those thunderstorms would have added to all that too. I also don’t like those realy loud claps of thunder. That worries me more than the lightning. At least you had some rain with the storms. It’s the dry storms in summer that I don’t like as they start so many bushfires. I can imagine how frightened Kizzy must have been. Most animals hate storms. My chillipepper would hide under the bed or blankets during storms and both channie and muffy were/are frightened. Oh yes, I love petunias and always plant a few each spring at the back on the retaining wall section. They do look great in hanging baskets too. Such tough colourful plants. Those humid heat waves are so uncomfortable and hard to live with. I hope it soon passes you by.  I’ve got to have another blood test next Friday and other tests then see the dr next week but at this stage the treatment seems to be helping so I can only hope. Temps are in the low 50’s now after being in the high 30’s this morning. It’s going to be colder tonight. We did manage to have some more rain. The lower parts of the state are having more. Love your rose page:) Will chat some more later. Hugs to you.

Hi Darlene! I'm still working on my page, and hadn't found a header that I like, so I will probably go ahead and use a premade layout...I just don't know yet! LOL!

07/05/2026 13:15:20

Looks like rain chances this evening...now we wait. It's been a lazy day here. We did have a few errands yesterday, and visited friends over in SC on Friday. A former coworker of David's..he recently moved back here from California. Has a lot of work to do on his house in SC, but should get everything done in a few weeks. Hope all is well your way.

Hi Darlene! We were without power from 6 pm. until after 9 pm last night..we are so thankful for the men that came out in this awful heat and humidity to get the power back to working as quickly as they could! Had to get this big electrical box replaced, it had burned out....I took this photo from our driveway.

07/03/2026 18:50:52

There's my Jasper waiting for a treat. So lucky fireworks & thunder just make him riled, and he barks like someone is at the door. Have a safe & wonderful Fourth.

07/03/2026 09:29:07

happy Friday to you Darlene! I hope you have a great weekend, we're staying inside...going to be way too hot for us old people to be outside! LOL!
