Hi Ric. Yes I agree it’s not really worth growing your own tomatoes when you only use a few especially if your not into gardening.  Usually in spring and during the summer months they are cheap to buy in the supermarkets. The advantage of the home grown ones is the difference in the flavour. The home grown ones have much better flavour and softer skins.  I like to make fresh ham and tomatoe sandwiches.

How cheeky of those little carpenter bees to attack your garage after all the work you have done in there. I read somewhere that a good deterent is to varnish the wood but as you say vinegar and lemon juice should do the trick.  Amazing how a little creature like that can bore into wood.  They should spend their time out in the garden pollinating trees and plants instead.

 Good that you had a spare globe for your night lamp. I had a bedside touch lamp for many years but that gave up working so I replaced it with a LCD desk lamp I had as a spare and that has several modes of brightness that can be altered just by touching it.  Yeah, groceries are far more expensive now but then wages have increased too, however not so if your on a fixed income. Wow, went to the doctor this morning the med he gave me is making me feel better. Its 4 bacterial infections do not know why I do not go too see the doc the first thing. It funny feeling better. Thank God for Med and doctors. lol

Hi Ric. Just on 50f here this morning. Needless to say I’ve got the heater on. We’ve had some more rain so that’s good. I think we are a little below the monthly average but better than this time last year. How’s it going your way?. I can’t say I’ve done a great amount this week.  Went to the Scrabble group Monday afternoon and since then have been sorting through my filing cabinet and bringing it up to date. I try to do this at least once a year.

With growing the tomatoes Ric Have you thought of buying a small Plant or two from your Garden nursery (or Hardware stores usually have a garden section) already established in a little pot and transfering it into a larger container. That’s what I do. That way you have the hardest part out of the way. If its been undercover You need to aclimatize the plant first before putting it outdoors in a container or ground, popping it outdoors for an hour or two for a couple days to toughen it up.    It sure did get hot today. Had the a/c on.  I don't think I look like Marsha at all. She has a narrow face with a longer nose.  My face is more round and my nose isn't long. Not a good match. I'll stick with Liz Taylor. I'd like to see a picture of our dear friend, but she probably won't send me one. I'll send her one later on after her birthday. I'll remember to send her a birthday wish.

We've gotten a lot of rain since the weekend..more fell earlier today. The humidity is very high. I did get a walk in this morning. Looks like a cool down by end of the week.
